  1. A-10CII, F-16C, F-14B, AH-64D, OH-58,F/A-18C, anything with NS430. On A-10C, ADS-B information of other air traffic, would be displayed on TAD. Any MFD with map, WP, own aircraft could display ADS-B data. Traffic would be shown as aircraft icons in relation to own aircraft. Blue is above own, green is below, yelow is within 500' to 1000' altitude sep, red is at same alt and within 1nm sep. Flashing amber glow is critical separation. I imagine that ED would would work that into reworked ATC function in DCS. ATC, right now kind of well sorta, eh.......... OK it sucks. It is absurdly disfunctional.
  2. ADS-B and TCAS system of somekind for aicraft that suppourt it
  3. DCS terrain textures don't have quite the photoreal feel that Google Earth does. Perhaps it is becpuse DCS textures are unlit and have no baked shadows. Google Earth are just satelite photos taken during daytime. Presumably at shortest distance time. Very useefull to have that 3D view during mission planning and in mission editor , where the camera can tumble and rotate around specific point. Allowing the user to see terrain in 3D.
  4. Is there a technical limitation that would prevent DCS from using Google Earth terrain database? As ability to select an area of Google Earth and have it converted , at least on basic level (terrain only) , to DCS terrain, would be amazing.
  5. Crazy mountenous region.
  6. Does this mod simulate J79-GE-17A engine unstarts or compressor stalls? With yaw abd pitch moments, associated with it.
  7. I am noticing a corelation between DCS 'black screen' and simutaneous running of YouTUbe videos.
  8. On my Win10 Pro 64 Win1-.0.19043.2364 Eco Mode is unavailable. It does not show up under Task Manager/Detail/ process right click menu My Windows power plan is max.
  9. My 'black flicker' comes in two flavors. A subtle flicker that looks like fast dimming/undimming, and slow black-out, lasting for some seconds. The slow blackout is more of an issue. My GPU is RTX 3070Ti 8gb. In Task Manager undr 3D , during DCS play, following; Dedicated GPU is nearly maxed out of 8GB. With varying amount of Shared GPU Memory , set to 24 GB, GPU temp during play is 75C - 79C. There is no overclocking. Using latest Nvidia reference drivers. GPU is Founder's Edition from Nvidia. Under GPU 3D level, in Task Manager, during 'blackpout' there 3D workload drops to 0 and remains for random number of seconds, while game plays. Audio keeps working. Then DCS comes back, working as normal. Until next black out. Its random, in all theaters, and with all aircraft. DLSS is OFF AA is OFF
  10. Was helicopter at its high speed at altitude, or on the ground? I am talking about having aircraft in AA mode and TPOD in AA mode and being able to select APKWS. Not just AIM-9 or guns. Or Having a/c in air-ground mode, but with TPOD in AA mode , with APKWS as selected munition.
  11. Is there an internal DCS rule that prevents APKWS to be used as AA weapon. Tpod does have AA mode, after all.

  13. I am unable to manually set course. Only by WP toggle. I flip between HSI and VAD selection, and HSI mode is set to NAV. But stepping through HSI +/- does not alter course. What have I forgotten.
  14. I use this resource when creating realistic dynamic weather in Mission Editor.
  15. Real F-117 Nighthawk is FBW, which all simed aircraft do. It had flight characteristics , stability, when all FBW computers were working, and overall aerodynamic performance of A-7D/E Corsair II. In fact A-7 were used for pilot training and flight hour maintenance at Tonopah where initial F-117 program was based out of in early to mid 1980's. So a realistic A-7 module with modified aircraft geoemtry and internal radar visibility, would give an decent approximation of F-117 experience. F-117 is still in limited active service with USAF. Aircraft are in controlled environment storage, not parked outside at AMARC . Most of its systems, especcially communication, navigation, and defensive electornics are highly classified. Landing gear is from F-15. Becouse it was intended for nightime deep penetration, it is mostly an instrument flight aircraft. DCS is really a VFR flying club. For most part, IMHO.
  16. Please post a screen scrab pic of F10 map with Show Wind Map. What am I looking for? Becouse it this option shows me nothing. Unless I see a windsock or smoke, with dynamic weather, it is , for me, very difficult to impossible to judge wind direction and speed. In UH-1H, without a wind aenometer or string sideslip, I am never certain as to wind direction at any point or place during mission, except at starting T/O location.
  17. Ismuth Of Panama centered on Panama Canal Zone. Encompassing Gulf Of Panama on Pacific side and parts of Carribiean on Atlantic side. That would be the onlt DCS theater to cover Pacific and Atlantic waters. Iceland Greenland centered on Pittuffik Air & Space Base encopossaing Baffin Bay, Alexandra Fjord, and Davis Strait. Knocking on NATO's door in Arctic. Collectively Iceland and Greenland theateers could be terms DCS: Arctic. Nicaragua. Part of DCS: Central America. Chinese want to dig an alternative canal through Nicaragua. Strayegic threat to USA and OAS is 'substantial'. Taiwan. Self explanatory and increasing in likelyhood. DCS: Central Europe+Blatic. Centered on Suwaki Gap in Poland and encompassing Baltic Three, Finland, Sweden, and Baltic Sea. DCS: Agean Sea. Conflict between Greece and Turkey over Aegean islands. Or NATO vs. Russia conflict over Bosporus, Sea Of Marmara, and Istanbul. DCS: Mallaca Straits
  18. Kills my FPS. I have 28" 2560X1440 @144Hz as panel dedicated to to DCS. Options set to single screen. I really like RAZBAM's MFD export to overlay approach, as implemented in AV-8B and Mirage 2000C. This is something I would like to be DCS wide.
  19. I never played it. Going from YT videos, IR realtime imagery looks amazing. I can see people walking. Detail is crisp. Looks like modern IR hunting scopes imagery.
  20. Well , when I place FLIR on center bottom MFD, set it in FLIR mode, and crank the contrast , the B/W picure loolks allright. Though small. I kind of wish that F/A-18 had pop up MFD implementation found in A-10CII and RAZBAM's AV-8B NA MFD export. Where zoomed vew of MFD is shown and content is far easiir to resolve. Yes its not real, it augments real. There are users, myself amongst them, that don't use VR display. I don't even have TrackIR.
  21. My SOP, to best of my ability when task saturated, is to keep loach below 120. My personal Vne for OH6 is 115, regardless of GW and weather. However either due to inattention or wind turbulence, at times,my speed creeps up above 120 or jumps above 120 quickly. In that case, I immidiaately lower collective, and back stick on cyclic (moderately) to slow down. For some reason, that does not work every time. Often it does, more then sometimes it does not. So what happens next, and it is reflected in track, is the OH6 becomes a bucking bonco. It pitches up severely, rolls severely, then spins such so that rotor stops. I have UH-1H, AH-64D, KA-50III, and Gazelle. I have exceeded Vne in KA-50 and know how to handle. In Kamov there is clear multiscond shake, rattle, and roll, that is correctable by lowering collective, and slight back on cyclic. UH-1H won't break its Vne, unless in a dive, or collective maxed out. and I don't do that. Apache does not have enough power to exceed Vne in level flight in DCS. Not in my hands anyway, and I tried. But OH-6A mod will exceed its safe Vne in level fwd flight, and thus speed has to be watched like a hawk. Things can go from 'all is well' to 'catastrophe' in a second or less. Concetration on flying, not looking around. I appreciate that. It requires discipline. I love this mod. Margin of safety is low at 120 knots IAS, and that has me thinking that Army and Government would not certify real world helicopter. So my assumption is that in RW in real OH-6 or MD-500 there is a warning transition period, that allows pilot to recover. In mean time, its back to YouTube helicopter videos on RBS recovery procedures in R44 trainer. In RW, I would never set foot in a Robinson. Any Robinson. Scariest helicopter , ever. But watching students and CFI struggle with helicopter emergencies at edge of life, is perversely fun.
  22. Its around 120 knots Vne. Above that expect to crash&burn. Pretty consistent for me. THe track has helo loaded with cargo + 40% fuel and is at 90% GW. QNH is 3012 with winds at 7 m/s (13-15 knots) gusty, at Paphos. Mission is to deliver cargo from sea level tohelipad at 6150' or so. IMHO, coning of main rotor is not sufficiently simmed or shown. I don't think real OH-6A or MD-500 civi would be that unsafe. But its OK, I still love that mod. Among my favorites. Here is a question to rotorheads. Do helicopters (pilot) care about true and calibrated airspeed?
  23. Yes I know that 130 is the Vne. But note how fast the helicopter goes from controlled forward flight to uncontrolled roll. Within a second. There is very little of a ny transition zone. In my experience 115 knots is max stable safe cruise speed in DCS:OH-6A. At 120 it becomes offy. At 125 its difficult. At 130 you are dead. I have a feature request. When OH-6A is 'armed' with cargo or passengers, and aicraft is landed, and sitting on ground. With or without turning rotors. Add command under Main menu to unload passengers or cargo.
  24. If you have Syria map. Please take a look at this track. Above 125 knots, and at 130 OH6 experienced retreating blade stall with unrecoverable roll. The rotor stops turning. Note how fast it goes from stable fwd flight to catastrophic roll, with very little warning. My immidiate action is reduce collective and pull back on cyclic to reduce speed. But often this is not enough to arrest. OH6A_rBladeStall_130knots.trk
  25. I am not on ramp at USMC MAG, but I would think that in past three decades that USMC/Navy would update their Charlie Hornets to full color or B/W LCD/LED displays on all three screens. I dislike ED's implementation of color screen in DCS: F/A-18C. Its limited to bottom, it is hard to read during day time. Its too much of PIA to zoom into it for detailed view, while in flight. The green amber I/R vew of ATFLIR has marginal contrast. Kind of wish our I/R view had quality and resolution from a competing combat simulation product. Starts with A, ends with A, and RM in middle. I am not a user of that product, but YT videos look impressive. I made a decision not to install free F/A-18E mod, as the FM is still C.
