  1. Max FPS should be equal to your panel's or VR set's refresh rate. My panel (s) are 144hz, which is very smooth. Above 90FPS DCS is very smooth, at 120 FPS diminishing return is reached. I set my Razer Athers poll rate at 250, from 500, and I can't tell any difference. I doubt Vsync would do anything for me, and might cost me 5-10 FPS, as very few empty missions break 144 FPS. You only need Vsync if you are producing such high FPS that display can't keep up. This is not a concern with DCS. For DCS to require Vsync, I would have to produce 280 FPS, which is not possible on my rig. IMHO, DCS multithreading, does not multithread that well. I can tell just by looking at my perf monitor. When I render or run simulation cook under Houdini and render CPU Renderman, or Vray, or Arnold, the threads are loaded. All of them. To the top. When DCS runs, the threads are not loaded highly, even with many mission units, but Perf monitor shows 100% GPU and GPU ram usage. Tottaly loaded and temp rise drasticaly to between 78 and 98C. So DCS is GPU loaded not CPU. But MT DCS system RAM does use above 32gb of ram. Where as a desktop PC game is suppoused to run withn 16gb memory footprint. South Atlantic misison load is particularly heavy, using up to 38gb of ram to load, but dropping to 24gb during play.
  2. Well I can't compare mine to yours. But I regularly average 100fps and above with AV-8B and UH-1H. I don't use DLSS, and DLSS don't seem to add FPS in my case. I dunno about DLAA. I run Win10Pro 64 as HP mainboard lacks optional Trusted Platform 2.0 or something . According to Win11 Upgrade diagnostic. I don't seem to notice any issues with DCS or Maya, Houdini, Rhino3D, or NUKE. Vray GPU , Renderman XPU(GPU), and Arnold GPU all run just fine. 3. You can see the near-hard touch down. Almost expecting the gear to fold uncommanded. Bending main gear means that aiframe is probably bent at wing root. By bent, it may not be physically apparent to be bent, but certainly the airframe's life has just been shortened, or depot maintenance has been pushed up.
  4. Could this have anything to do with Nvidia Latency mode setting?
  5. Should latency Mode be set in Nvidia panel to OFF, High, or Ultra. To avoid random stutters
  6. THey are popping brake chutes before weight on wheels. That is dangerous, and in USAF is prohibited , in every type, AFAIK. FIshbed can land on grass, and on grass the friction is so high that chute is not needed. But those guys popping before touch down. Really bold and ballsy. Becouse it assumed that there will be no bounce. These appears to be at airshow, so the pilots are likely best of the best with honors, from the squadrons. In USAF, B-47 crews and their aircraft were lost becouse they popped before touchdown. A/C would stall too high and just fall , breaking gear, or bouncing and stalling within fuselage height.
  7. On Russian aircraft you should always use brake chutes. Russian aircraft, except transports and airliners, are designed to rely on chutes as primary speed arrest system on landing roll. Gear brakes are too weak. Thats a compromise on weight, cost, and complexity. IRL and in DCS, Mig-21 can roll off runway if chute is not deployed or released , by accident, upon inflation. I happen to agree with Russian design logic. Brake chute extraction is extremely reliable. Ground crew really has to go out of their way to tangle and mispack a chute. Even on American designs, B-47 in 1950's, flight crew could do it themselves, just by rolling up and stuffing chute back into housing, and hooking lanyard to release clamps. I am a terrible cross-wind lander. I use brake chute, in a prohibited fashion, to correct for pilot error, to stop crazy fishtailing. With one major rule, never to violate. DO NOT USE ON BOUNCE! Bounce, Go Around. Good ol'fashioned TOGA. Take Off power, Gear up, Accelerate. Your basic flight safety 101 taught in flight schools.
  8. AH-1 Cobra (specifically my Cold War fave Ah-1S) shares powertrain with UH-1H. Engine, tran, main rotor, tail rotor, overall dimensions are same. Belsimtek and ED could just wrap AH-1S fuselage, crew pit, and add TOW to base UH-1H code base. Walllallllaaaaa DCS: AH-1S Cobra. Yes Whiskey is prefered. But Whiskey Cobra is modern , twin engine, different tran, Hellfires.

  9. Friction is constant in DCS, IMHO, based on my observation. There is no variation between runway, taxiway, or tarmac. Friction is higher on rough field and grass, but is consistent. So landing on wet grass is no different the on dry grass, or sand-corral in Mariannas. Which is OK, as DCS is about flight and combat not total ground to ground experience in aircraft handling. Its a reasonable compromise. However in extreme wet or snow conditions, ED should or could make stopping more difficult. Also I don't fee; brake fade in DCS. Overheated brakes should stop working or cause fires, but that malfunction is something I have not experienced in DCS in any fixed wing mod I own. Not for lack of trying. But DCS , in Hornet does simulate, stores separation collision, which is good touch.
  10. Runways are more difficult to stop on when wet and when iced over or snow covered. Can't say for certain. I don't see any runway skidding issues when landing regardless of weather or runway condition. Material condition of runway also effects performce of stopping aircraft. If those variables could be taken into account that would be interesting. I am not an aviation professional, but I play one when I watch MayDay or Air Crash Investigation. Runway condition was a topic that was handled on few mishaps.
  11. Is this a real LOAH or homebuilt kit?
  12. Standby. It happens on some missions. Does not happen on others. Now I regret posting this.
  13. Sorry! This is weird. It l works, but sometime it does not. If I use TPOD first, the I can never , on that mission, uncage IRMAV. Even after waiting three mintes , five minutes.
  14. 2.9.7 update Uncage IRMAV no longer functions Anyone else or do I have to post a track to prove it. Is this related to TRAZBAM/ED dispute yet unresolved?
  15. I think this mod is fairly easy to fly. I dunno if the FM is EFM high fidelity or not or to what extent. But it seems fairly OK with some practice. If you have Normandy here is a track from gunnery and flight practice. Flies great at tree tops. Stable in hover and stable in slow between tree flight. U have tp set trim correct befor T/O or helicopter may encounter dynamic roll. OH6A_Norman_gunnery_flight_train.trk
  16. So when LSO grade has 'In the Wires' is that good or bad?
  17. BY the time I see the carrier come into cockoit view its already out of line up. The angles are AFU. Magically the carrier is always being blocked, regarless of how I move my head view, by canopy or HUD frame. Untill its inside HUD, then its oo late for correction. Whenit does come inside HUD , its a gray blob.I am unable to resolve by relative angle between my plane and flight deck crotch. I am almost at ramp by the time landing area is rsolved and I can see some lines, only to find myself that too far left, or right, or I am pointing not along centerline. Visual correction are nigh impossible. My view 2560X1440, my distance is Medium, and sharpen to 1. Land runways appear just fine. i should be able to make out SC landing area from a bit farther.
  18. I CANT SEE THE LANDING AREA! I can't judge the lineup until its too late. Its drawn flat gray. No lines. The markings resolve when I am almost at the ramp.
  19. I was all checked in. Inbound See You at t0 Ball call at start of groove. Got Roger Ball acknowledge then silence from LSO. At least a WO would be nice to hear or flashing WO ball lights. On one attempt, same as above, no LSO corrections after Roger Ball. I broke gear by hitting the round down. Gear got bent backwards but hooh caught the #1 wire, I am sitting on deck with bent gear, Xmas tree lights, and LSO gives me fair pass #1 wire grade. WHAT!!!!! How about a WaveOff. Secod occurence, not sequential, is the included track. High VV, bent gear, but LSO gives me OK 3wire. Thats not a LSO AI system I can trust. Its AFU AFIAK. Proof is in the track. My #1 problem, as far as skill in Case 1 is turn from 90 into the groove. I can't do it. Can't do it right any way. I am nearly always, always, too wide or too shalow. I cannot line up. Even with high res Stennis textures, I cannot see the landing area line up until the last moment. My ILS is on bars are on HUD. it just never happens. I never line up in groove. 100 atttempts, 100 bad line ups.
  20. Here is the track from that training flight. My notes; LSO is useless. Ball limited use. On second pass I got roger ball, but no corrections from LSO. Trapped slightly off center, and cauught 3 wire. But all that is B.S. ! its nonsense. I landed with high VV and damaged gear. Yet LSO gave me OK 3 Wire. I can't trust it. Its B.S. The critical information , the ball, the LSO call, are useless, wrong, or not issued at all. ED got some work to do. Useless_LSO_OK_3wire_badTrap.trk
  21. I did not trap on this pass. I did not get WO from LSO. I did my own WO. In fact, after ball call, I gor no LSO calls. I get this chronically. Supercarrier just does not show ball, no LSO WO, no LSO calls at all so I have no clue what to do , except go around. OK I am probably high, but the ball should show this to me, and LSO "YOU'RE HIGH" or similar. But I get none of that. I feel cheated. Like Pvt. Pyle in FMJ.
  22. I am getting some B.S here. In AUTO mode, when I press release, the relase is instantaneous and weapons miss. Which is what confuses me in Hornet. I am suppoused to hold down release and weapon delivery system actually releases. But I am not getting that.
  23. Oi. vei ! Again. In auto mode, when do I actiually press the relase button. Me crying in desperation.
  24. Its nota bug issue. Its presentation. I dont understand what I am seeing, or not seeing.
  25. CCRP in F/A-18C confuses the blink out of me. I cant understand the symbology. When do you release, and often the vertical line is so far to the side of HUD, when traget is right in center, it makes no sense to me whatsoever. Where is the rlease que? Where is countdown? Its confusing, and tutorials dont do anything for me. So far Mk-82/83 bombs are a lost cause in F/A-18C. I have no probem using MK bombs in A-10CII, in AV8B, in M2KC. But In Hornet its just weird. I dont know what I am missing.
