Do you know some other software that can run this kind of simulation with Better performance ? When I started with Flight sims this year, i was thinking, I hope they optimize DCS to make it run as fluid as IL-2 ... Now I think that's not posible on DCS because of radars, misiles, speeds, etc. It needs much more power for it's simulation.

Sadly I would say it's a fact, not an opinion. Despite de lack of IPD adjust and headphones, the rest of HMDs launching this year are worst or very expensive. I just ordered an HP Reverb, but I guess I'll keep my Rift CV1 for playing non cockpit games.

Gracias.

Relax !!!! Before thinking on porting the "new night lighting tech" to other maps, they have to finish it first, polish it, and when it's validated and works well, they'll be in a good position to make the estimation of how much work it's required to bring that to old maps.

What I'll miss are some analog instruments from the F-15C ...

I agreed with everything you said about the F/A-18 except this, I think it's a great place to end. I have started with FC3 & F-5E, now I'm gonna go with trainers (L39 & C101), later I don't know, and then I'll Learn & Master the F18 I have it already, because I bought it in a Bundle with the Gulf map ... but no rush

Yo me suelo esperar 1 dia o 2 ...
-

I looks that for Quest games it's already a reality !!!!! I hope it will come soon to PC, in all APIs, or in OpenXR at least. For HP Reverb that would be really great !!!!

That word was totally necessary, because they just say it's a big update to the map, people would start asking if it was a paid update. So there is no posible excuse to get angry at it

Are there any plans to allow DCS to use multiple cores?
cercata replied to MobiSev's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Interesting tool The impact depends on what the threads do, and on it's memory usage patern. The "matrix calculations" is an extreme example of what gets hits the most with thread bouncing. There is also data sharing between threads in that case. Project Lasso is an amazing tool, but what it does should be really integrated into Windows, because any change on the windows Scheduler via update risks of breaking your system completly. -
That's what I did exactly, fur for others processors maybe the optimal is different: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3832369&postcount=216

There is a config file where you can set you core affinity for DCS ... I have it for 2 cores, that gives me the smoothest gameplay. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=118535

Are there any plans to allow DCS to use multiple cores?
cercata replied to MobiSev's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Once I watched a presentation from Naughty Dog, and how they organized everything in Jobs, that were serial tasks. Once they knew the dependencies and shared data between jobs, they asigned those jobs to different cores. That aproach is brilliant, but they can do it because they know the processor where it's running, and they know what cores are available for them. If windows had a Game mode, were a process had 75% of the cores, and the rest the remaining 25%, and it had an efficient way off creating threads, and assigning them to "virtual cores", DEVs could achieve something similar. If there a more "virtual cores" than "real cores" available, then the scheduler should find a way to map it, and assing several virtual cores to a real one. But Windows doesn't has that ... so DEVs are fuc_ked :( -

There is a huge impact, because each time a thread awakens on a diferent core, he has lost his L1 and L2 cache data, and it has to load it again from DRAM ... That would be True if the Windows Scheduler was smarter ... I don't know if still happens on matlab, but back in 2013, Matlab solved a Matrix Inverse faster forcing affinity to only one core, that if I let him use the 4 cores. And if you looked at the task manager, all 4 cores were almost at 100% utilization ...
