  3. yes F6 lightning & hawker siddley buccaneer. another of my fav cold war era aircraft i frequently witnessed as a kid was the buccaneer, most impressive airbrake design ! my father worked as a naval architect upon a few aspects of hms arkroyal, i had the pleasure of watching 2 buccs pass below the level of the deck one time long ago when they still flew. and not to forget the many occasions parked near military fields looking for the frightenings on the ramps.
  4. i also think flight heaven could be with zero propulsion. dare i say it , i want a decent glider & Tow aircraft & thermals module for the ME. and what about helicopters too ? a lil r22 could be a nice touch. it doesnt have to all be combat systems, an easy project comparitivly speaking and as opposed to trying to churn out the most technically advanced jet platforms the world has seen as the starter point for a 3p group new to dcs of which they all are. yes it concerns me some what but thats for another thread i guess. yes iam aware of the p51, its damned gorgeous with my texture work on it. http://i.imgur.com/2CAg7.jpg and its why i seek prop driven aircraft from 3P`s

  7. i`d like to share a concern. is there scope for more than 1 group doing the same jet as another ? or a window of concern regards superceeding a previous older addon ? could there be any rivalry in the realism catagories ?
  8. when i was taking the shots and flying ingame etc i noticed the cloud cover that affects the planes materials dont naturally transfer between overcast shadow and full direct sunlight. infact there is no transition at all. on off on off etc. i couldn`t help think at the time the lack of shadows were due to that bug. is this the bug ? or this somthing else, a render issue etc ?
  9. spent 13 hours balancing these special effects yesterday. getting there. what u cant really see is the smudge style effects i have on the on the metal, the finger prints & smears that only are noticable at the special angle etc, the dust and grime build up that you cant really see all the time and the ageing of the metal but i still want to keep it factory fresh somewhat. none of these effects are diffuse related. [ATTACH]67247[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]67248[/ATTACH] look closely now. invisbile smudes and smears. ive tried to catch whilst in the shadow light. and some wip metal material ageing (still have some effects to add, scratches and edge blend.) [ATTACH]67249[/ATTACH] next project is our combat related skins. like these display skins but the weathering will come from the special effects solely as above but taken to the next level. ive spent in excess of 100 hours getting this right. i hope it shows. pictures dont do it justice. hopefully our flight display work will.

  11. im for it too. where we get an AFM or competent 3pFM it will be like the crown jewels of the DCS world. TBh thats all iam interested in and this is very fine. from working for years within the racing sim community, the FACT of the matter that is that 90% of the 3rd party work is below par, 5% is on par and rarely seen the other 5% is above par but well worth the wait and attention. in other terms 90% of what we may see without any strict measures will not be worth it. IMHO ofcourse. i see a guarantedd 10% of 3rdparty work being interesting. with strict measures that percentage will increase.

  13. obviously ED should retain their IP in some form so im happy they do this with the FM. And guard it closely from fantasy flight modules for the public. Thus ensuring their own addon abbility and incapability of a 3rd party bettering something so to speak. but i feel all modules for DCS should deliberatly have an SFM and optional 3pFM. this way world can be standardised. but.... btw not remebering or being familiar. is it right to suggest that within the construct of any module released that any ingame AI from that module will always be SFM based. so infact my above question is mute and all planes simply have to be SFM based on some level ? hope that makes sense.
  14. am i reading correct here, the majority of addons for DCS will simply be SFM based ? and who proves satisfactory results for a 3rd party FM ? will there be the opportunity for SFM and AFM (3pFM) for an individual module. or is it one or the other. and is there scope for any unofficial FM`s ?

  18. watched your track ram. i suggest starting your decent from above 1000 ft, and gliding her in more. without letting speed drop as much, you had a lot of throttle work that isnt generally necessary but you had to keep her from goin into the ground with it. the torque it produces nearly sends it oscillating but you certainly held it ! \o/ i thought you were initially going for a 2 wheel landing at first. powered glide thats how i percieve my landing style.
  19. im guessing the turn around time for a 3rd party mod based group to implement a functional piece of flyable content is around 3-4 months panzertard ? finished model, texttures, physics and sound. bar any crazy systems requiring adaptation.. what you reckon?
  20. indeed ! hence my appraisal \o/ to the concept DCS:Aerobatics. i had another old post out there that got shot down superbly for the suggestion of just what dcs could be out with the context of the word that was so prevelant around here, that being "combat". but finnaly its all happening. great times ahead.

  22. i think what we hear here is infact something else similar relating to an engine component rather than the screeching howl that clearly comes from high AoA manoevers
  23. my first formation flight with an experienced display pilot. wasnt a training session as such just some information seeking on the rights & wrongs. i think it went quite well
