  1. This thread is a good resource. There is even a 3d file from the heatblur cockpit there as an .obj https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/englis...ent-dimensions Edit: direct link to file: http://media.heatblur.se/F-14_B_Cockpit_Dimensions.rar
  2. All Mmjoy2, single Arduino micro.
  3. USBdeview https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
  4. Could it be a virtual device? disconnected all my usb devices and still no luck
  5. Okay so the mmjoy2 device shows up in VKB tester, I deleted the reg keys using USBDeview but it still errors out in the windows usb gamepads, and mmjoy2 still gives that error on bootup edit: So I change the VID/PID from 6666/6666 to 6669/6669 [nice] and now it works in USB Gamepad properties! Must have been a haunted vid/pid number? Unfortunately mmjoy2 program itself gives me the "device cannot be identified" error still
  6. has anyone had an Arduino micro die from being in storage unplugged? Dug out an old throttle I made using MMJOY2 and it shows up as a USB gamepad but opening it's properties gives an error. I can't get it to load into the mmjoy2 interface either
  7. Really credible! Where did you get the hornet throttle grips?
  8. what kind of plastic is it? The squeaking might just needing it to be broken in.
  9. anyone know how to solve this? Started up mmjoy2 again to work on a new project and it gives me this message on startup. Whether I have an Arduino hooked up or not. "Device cannot be identified." I can't change the settings of any devices, nothing shows up on the usb list. Using MMJOY2_v20160818upd1 With an Arduino Micro
  10. They have a spotty track record with quality though, so be careful. Very hand made
  11. Doing some more wayback machine cruising I was able to find this set of images from this page. Seems highrev sims manufactured the transducer joystick themselves https://web.archive.org/web/20080515132810/http://hirevsims.com/01prod/fltcontrl/strgages/stgage.htm
  12. I found these military simulator F-18 throttle grips from the now defunct high rev simulators many years ago on ebay. (I actually found the original product page on the internet archive) I am now using the quarantine as a chance to finally build them into a working throttle quadrant. The problem I've run into is how to hook up the transducer joystick. I can't find the part number as it seems to be under epoxy. Only thing I can find out is from that defunct product page It has 6 wires, two of them short when the joystick is depressed (switch) and then 4 are arranged in a box, which I guess are for the 2 axis of strain gauges? Anyone have any ideas how to convert these into a Potentiometer like signal? Using MMJOY2
  13. These really should be parallaxing cubemaps if they want to do this sort of thing. Then they'd look great in trackir/VR
  14. all links dead lol
  15. Nice. Ministick version would be great though. I'd suggest using xbox/ps4 replacement sticks. The ministicks that come on a pcb breakout board have bad deadzones.
  16. Problem is the tom cat HOTAS setup is... kinda lacking? I'd appreciate maybe a white colored hotas grip. Maybe pretend it's what the super tomcat 21 would have been
  17. problem with FB groups demonstrated in two comments: Discover-ability. I didn't know about either of these groups and I'm a part of at least two other sim building groups myself, though I focus mostly on forums and discords as it's easier to find posts and follow discussions.
  18. Is there any though to maybe replacing the pincer spring mechanism with cams?
  19. If 3d printing and no 5-way is not a problem these are an option https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3452944
  20. watch jabbers, or magztv, or growling sidewinder, but please don't watch grim reaper videos, there are tons of mistakes in them and you'll end up frustrated
  21. To do the self centering analog axis, maybe try and fit a mini stick in there, constrained to move only in one axis, and only read that single pot output? Gives a free click in option too.
  22. USB active extension, anker usb hub, a shitty passive 3 foot extension and a 2 foot usb to type c cable. All my controllers, keyboard and mouse run through the same hub Works great. I might do a different setup with a usb 2.0 extension and a 2.0 hub, just cuz I'd rather use the hub elsewhere, but both the 2.0 & 3.0 cables into a cable sleeve.
  23. As a VR player it would be great to have jester tell us if the bandit is hot or cold or other aspect info. Even if I can see the pixel with VR screens it can be a challenge to tell the orientation and general direction of a bandit. With an option of airspeed readouts in a dogfight, it would be great to be able to ask Jester to tell us if the bandit is coming in hot, turning cold, diving, climbing, etc.
  24. Printed a draft of the stick as is and it's a chungus, that's for sure. Uploaded the stl to thingiverse for now. next step is to quad it and convert it all to tsplines for proper fusion 360 work https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4076915 I don't believe the heatblur obj actually has the levers in the model, just the panels.
  25. I took the .obj of the entire cockpit earlier and separated the grip from the rest of the model I've tried cleaning it up in Sketchup but leaving it for now. Could be a good base to work from. edit: see the thingiverse page for the more recent version https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4076915
