  1. Hi, Our clan was playing on Syria last night and the area indicated in picture below the FPS dropped badly for everyone who flew near it Like really bad slide show, can some one take a look at this please ? EDIT: FPS drops due to craters on the map
  2. You can do this already with the DCS scripting engine or the easier way use MOOSE
  3. a tutorial from Wags / ED would be handy for this feature ... rather than having to guess this stuff
  4. yeah you have always had to quote paths with spaces in them, one of the reasons I never create paths with spaces in them, when you install stuff, you can select a path without spaces to avoid such issues
  5. Been running DCS dedicated servers for a few years now without any problems I always start the dcs.exe, do any of your clan mates understand computers better and could give it a try? anything interesting in your dcs.log ? it might point to what is causing the crash try adding dcs.exe --norender --server to the shortcut and see if that works, it is what has worked for me
  6. create a shortcut to dcs.exe and use that instead
  7. you might be quicker response if you post this in the mission editor bugs forum ? https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/815-mission-editor-bugs/
  8. you mean like this ? did this 5 months ago
  9. reason I was asking about the huey is that the way the throttle works on vpc collective is modelled on the huey ......... but how ths operates is not modelled correctly by DCS eg having to use page up key to move it out of idle
  10. DCS uses a couple of kB per second per client , it is very light on network traffic
  11. Do you fly the huey much at all ?
  12. because the twist throttle grip is simple not worth the $121, you only touch the throttle ONCE during helicopter engine start-up and never touch it again after that The collective throttle part is modelled after the hueys throttle .... which doesnt work correctly in DCS anyway
  13. I have the Virpil plus collective , I would recommend against buying it and save $121 and just buy the standard Virpil collective instead
  14. my_text = [[ this is line 1 this is line 2 this is line 3 ]] lua allows multi line text as shown above
  15. +1 for this , I only run 3 maps on my server and dont want the other ones Some config file that could be edited, that told the DCS updater which maps are wanted would be great @BIGNEWY thanks for looking into this
  16. The Caucaus server now has the A-4E and Hercules mod enabled
  17. +1 this is a great idea
  18. Hi, Was flying an evening mission in the ka-50 last week on Syria it was about 2 hours before sunset so still bright enough While using the Shval camera you could see the ground (and targets very clearly), but while looking out thru the cockpit glass the ground and targets were impossible to spot, it appears the cockpit glass "tint" is really dimming down the view Anyone else noticed this ?
  19. @AKA_Clutter to save you literally thousands of hours of frustration watch this video and set this up so you can load script while the mission is running This is NOT specific to using MOOSE , but for any dcs lua script you might be trying out 1. edit script 2. save script 3. execute script in dcs (without having to restart the mission) ....... then go to step 1 because you made a boo boo in the code
  20. DCS_updater.exe --quiet update dcs.exe --norender --server will auto update then start dcs, stick it in a batch file
  21. well Ian ................... been waiting on the "new" version of Virpil software for many many months now and still no sign of it, I am holding off until that is released because it has some new cool features, so not updating any videos for now I have tagged any very old videos with OUTDATED in the title and links to a newer updated version of the video, but wont be doing the buttons one until new version released Back when Virpil were just starting out, there was a new build every two weeks for a very long time, it was like hitting a moving target
