  1. To tag on to that answer, since the title mentions alignment, errors in magnetic heading have no bearing on the INS alignment. The INS is completely unaware of any magnetic information and works only with true headings. There is no direct interaction between the magnetic compass system (AHRS) and the INS. There is an indirect interaction through the use of Magnetic Variation which is used to convert target true heading/course information from the INS into magnetic heading/course information to display on the TID.
  2. Self-deleted.... it’s a Moose issue not a DCS issue.
  3. No, the Emergency Wingsweep Handle is a direct cable linkage to the wingsweep drive servos and bypasses all CADC interlocks. The only interlocks that aren't bypassed are the flap interlocks, which are a hard mechanical interlock. The pilot assumes responsibility for manually implementing a wingsweep schedule that will not damage the airframe. The notches are there to prevent inadvertent movement of the handle.
  4. Yep, helps bleed speed in the break, and allows for a closer formation in the break which ensures the last guy to break isn’t too close in on the downwind. Oh yeah, and it looks cool.
  5. Yes... buttons and switches work but no gauges or lights. It is a new module, so not unexpected. I’m assuming a fix will be produced.
  6. In a 2-ship without human RIOs, what we do (and it’s real world SOP as well) is have the Lead launch in TWS and have the Wing launch in STT. It’s fairly easy to command Jester to STT a specific target as long as it’s not a huge furball out there. This somewhat negates the downside of not being able to command Jester to use Next Launch.
  7. Just watched Wags A-10C II video.... that cockpit looks awfully familiar. Did ED by any chance hook up with you?
  8. Tell Jester to switch to Ground Stabilized. He’ll switch it for a selectable period of time, during which you’ll get the vector showing the targets true heading.
  9. Worn out/grooved knob shafts, stripped set screws and misaligned knobs are facts of life. Love it. At most, maybe have the hover text tell you which channel you’re on.
  10. Any mission you could make is compatible with CA. The only gotcha is that if you predicate your mission on having drive-able vehicles or some other CA feature, you're non-CA mission members will not be able to do that. They will not see the Game Master, Tactical Commander or JTAC roles in their list of available mission slots.
  11. I don’t think you’ll find one, but good luck.
  12. One came up on EBay some years ago, but that’s about it. It’s not classified any more. I wouldn’t think that the US has any more interest in classifying the -1A any more than they would the SU-35’s counterpart. One of the guys in our group actually tried to FOIA it from NAVAIR. They didn’t say no, they just said they didn’t have it.
  13. I believe you’re referring to the AVIA display that’s available now...
  14. It’s a Syria map issue. Happens with all the planes.
  15. Dumb question but you are hitting LSHFT+U right?
  16. Correct They weren't recent. I had them for a couple years, my current problem started last December and I removed the Lilliputs in May. I did delete the drivers when I removed them. I'm not actually connected via remote desktop all the time, I only connect after the GPU has crashed so that I can look to see if there are any errors on the screen.
  17. It reverts the way it should (thank goodness). Yeah, that was one of the things I was going to try next. I have a 1080 touch monitor on the HDMI and three 1440p's on the three DP ports. I figured the mix of resolutions could be one of the issues. No adapters, the 1080 touch screen is HDMI straight into the 2070S. I didn't always have the touch screen. I previously had three Lilliput 7" USB displays. When this whole problem started, I switched out the three USB MFDs and replaced them with the 24" touchscreen thinking that might help with the issue. So I don't think the HDMI touchscreen is the issue. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, not sure which version. I recently upgraded to the Pro to get Remote Desktop which I was going to use for troubleshooting (log in remotely during an event to try and get some clues). I'll check the version. Interesting indeed... I strangely enjoy the troubleshooting aspect of a tough problem. I just wish I didn't crash out of DCS at the most inopportune times.
  18. Here is an example, the first image is my DCS on two monitors, 2560 x 2520. The bottom monitor is behind some MFDs and a Helios overlay. So you're seeing two monitors there. The second image is after LALT-ENTER and it's all squeezed onto my 2560 x 1440 main monitor.
  19. LALT + Enter doesn’t really work for multi monitor users. It puts DCS onto your main display, squeezing and distorting it however it has to in order to do that. For example, if I have two monitors and my main viewport resolution is set to, say, 3840 x 1080, It’ll squeeze my 3840-wide main viewport onto my 1920-wide main Windows display with all the distortion that comes with it.
  20. I anyone else having GPU freezes in DCS? I have four monitors, and for the past few months I've been getting random GPU lockups in DCS. PC is still running, I can connect to it via Remote Desktop, it's only the graphics that crashed. Temps are fine (upper 60s), GPU stress test works fine. It's only in DCS. Event Viewer tells me that DWM.exe crashed with an Unknown faulted module. Re-installed drivers, did the driver wipe and all that. Tried all of the common stuff (virus scans, disk scans, etc). Still happens, and only during DCS. I have occasion to switch DCS to a single-screen config occasionally and it has not locked up in that config. Only seems to happen when using multi monitor configs, although it may be coincidence because it doesn't always lock up in multi monitor either. Intel I9-9900K, 32GB RAM, RTX 2070 Super, Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra MB, VPC Warbird base/WH stick and throttle.
  21. Can you add some DCS screenshots to illustrate your point? Maybe a side-by-side?
  22. I think that the ground has a stickiness property in DCS that HB has to deal with. I think a lot of the ground/friction properties are core sim properties. Not sure about the brakes.
  23. Yeah, I was mistaken in the previous post. With the flap handle UP the outboard spoiler mod is shut down.
  24. Better to ask in the Super Carrier forum, but I believe yes, wands and reflective stripes on the float coats are in ED’s plan. There is a feature list in the FAQ thread.
