Cichlidfan is most likely correct. However, you can simply activate again. Problems like this is why we have multiple activations and the AAA system that replaces the last activation automatically after 30 days.

It means you are logging in with the wrong account. You should use the same account that you used to purchase the products on digitalcombatsimulator.com. If you need to move a license to a different account, you can do so on this page: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/myserials.php The key will then be moved to the next account that uses it online. (NOTE: this does not move the related purchase information, this relates specifically to multiplayer.)

First-gen i7's are an exception here though, they still used the "old" bClk method. However, adjusting RAM multiplier (or unlinking it) was still necessary to avoid "fun" things happening. Instability at such modest overclocks is most likely down to either the CPU itself being semi-broken (every single CPU will have different performance due to imperfections in the manufacturing process), but given the smallness of that overclock it really ought to be either incorrect configuration for the overclock, or that the motherboard itself is not up for it.

Rest in peace Jim. My summer plans just got a lot less interesting when you're not in them.

DRM, Activation Servers Offline? - Considering Purchase
EtherealN replied to jcookeusa's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I now spent 2 minutes and found people trying. Your argument is invalid. You are assuming that people try based on whether they succeed. Maybe, just maybe, the system is doing it's job? ;) The DRM in use is not "uber strong" either. It is an online activation system with less authority on your computer than your web browser has. (Indeed, it is technically weaker than the old systems for CD and DVD media, since it's not even locked to a physical delivery media that can get broken.) The piracy discussion is pretty much off-topic though. It has been done to death. -
All weapons are modeled as accurately as is possible given the following constraints: 1) Legally useable documentation. 2) Applicability to relevant player-controled modules. 3) Time constraints; weapons that are used more commonly by users will be given more attention. Basically, all weapons will have "errors", but different weapons will have different errors. If you have documentation that you are legally able to share, please do so. :) But please note that sometimes such documents are able to be shared, but they are still illegal to use. In sweden, for example, you can have a bunch of documents that are legal to share (not "secret") each on their own, but the moment you use them together you become a felon (they are "secret" when used together; yes, this is weird as heck, but I guess that's why it does take a while to study for a law degree. :P ).

Well, this depends really. I can't do the calculations myself (not enough data on the missiles etcetera), but since your sensors are on gimbals you should be able to "crank" after the shot, similar to how fighters handle zoom-shots. But of course, the speed differential is greater there. With luck someone will have some employment manuals which documents this for attack helos. The reason could also be that they would typically operate in a fashion where they can never be sure about what is under them. Keeping on the move then ensures no hidden infantry below them will plink them. Basic difference between having the helos move WITH your ground forces (and thus they'll know there's nothing under them and they can hover safely), and moving ahead as part of a spearhead, meaning that there's no friendly forces under them. (I've seen some video from the infantry perspective, where they were training US MANPAD operators against a Hind, and the MANPAD operator hiding in his forest had something like 2-3 seconds to line up a shot. Pretty much impossible...)

Helicopters are much more stable platforms when moving in forward flight, reducing transverse moments on the weapons. Since Russia relies to a much higher degree on unguided munitions that the US currently does, this is basically about increasing weapon accuracy. American helicopters also use this attack method normally when they will be using rockets, AFAIK. But of course, american helicopters rely more heavily on guided weapons (hellfires etcetera) than the russians, which allow different attack profiles. As for why they do this with Vikhrs and Atakas as well... Not sure. Could be as simple as extending the reach of their weapons: if you launch at speed, your weapon will reach longer because it has some speed even before it ignites the motor.

05:03 my time, though I did graveyard, so I'm checking out for a few. :P I have however sent a message to the appropriate staff.

Moscow, Minsk, and CET. Depends on the type of action required. Jimbo, I have checked your ticket and will escalate it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
-
What is your ticket number? Most likely you are using the wrong installer. If you have an upgrade license, you need to use the Upgrade installer. If you have a "normal" license, you need to use the normal installer.

Actually, no, that's not at all what you are being told. The fact that you think it is what you are being told is one of the things where it becomes clear to me that you do not understand the subject. If you at least tried to listen when people try to explain to you how things like this do work, then arguing with you might work. But you don't. So arguing with you becomes rather pointless. Thus: please take a couple courses in computer programming. Once you get started on some larger projects, you'll start to understand. Again, this is where you are just plain wrong. A) You have NOT been told that it is "impossible". (Well, this particular suggestion right here probably is, but it is difficult to know for sure since most of what you say doesn't make any sense. I suspect this is a language barrier problem though.) B) That it is possible to make an airplane break the sound barrier does not mean it's a good idea, or even feasible, to make a Cessna Skylane supersonic; to get it there, you would have to pretty much replace EVERYTHING. Now go back to what c0ff said, read it, read it again, read it a couple more, google a couple of the things he mentioned, and then try to understand. Finally, I would suggest that if you want to attack people with decades of experience with words like "amateurs" etcetera, you at least START with reaching the level of amateur yourself. QBASIC is a good start. :)
-
Demongornot, seriously, I suggest you sit yourself down and learn programming, and then do this stuff yourself. It will be a very enlightening experience for you when you then turn back and look at all the things you have written. This is a very serious suggestion, because it looks like you don't even understand that you don't understand.

If the hardware meets the DCS World system requirements, it is 64-bit.
-
Different CPU is different CPU unfortunately. There is no way for the system to adjust for this. The same thing would happen if you switched from an 8150 to another 8150. It is the actual, physical, CPU that matters, not which type of CPU it is. The system sees it's individual serial number (or something similar to that). It does not know anything more than that. (Compare to seeing a MAC adress on a network interface.) Quick Start guide is indeed a good place to start. :)
-
Correct. You have to upgrade because a new CPU changes the computer hardware code drastically, and thus counts as a "new" computer.
-
Well, they have to be different since the Su-33 needs to have controls for arrestor hook, folding wings and such carrier-related things.

I was going to write a response, but... Just one point: there is never a bigger "investment" than what was paid for the modules an individual purchased that is relevant to ED. The rest is optional, not something ED received. And with that, I'll close this thread, for obvious reasons. I invite everyone to very carefully read the forum rules.

I think he meant in the cultural "department". Ask someone about a legendary western utility helicopter? UH-1. Ask someone about a legendary soviet utility helicopter? Mi-8. And of course, the comparison gets even better: What is the AH-1 Cobra? It's an attack helo based on the UH-1. What is the Mi-24 Hind? It's an attack helo based on the Mi-8. ;)

People interested in this thread and it's topic might probably be interested in this: http://www.thegreatcourses.com/tgc/courses/course_detail.aspx?cid=1855 108 lectures on astronomy and related by Dr. Alex Filippenko, currently with a big discount. (I don't know for how long though, neither did Alex - he told me he doesn't expect it to last long but didn't know more than that.)

Old habits of mine that help as well: - When I know I'm about to post something really long, I type it in Notepad. - I always, ALWAYS, mark and Ctrl-C any post longer than a few sentences before pressing "post". (My connection is sometimes a bit fickle, so sometimes my connection drops while I'm typing...) Aside from that, yes, making sure that the forum is set to "remember" you (that is, you don't have to log in every time) will solve this as well.

Yes, there is unfortunately a backlog that we are trying to catch up to. If you can give me your ticket number, I will look at it.

Hi, very sorry for the problem. This is either a case of "reservation" of funds, or a system error. In the former case, you will eventually receive your money again - in that case it is a bank issue, and the "reservation" will cancel automatically. Otherwise, I believe we will be able to get you a refund. I will ask support to look into this tomorrow.
