  1. Just climb away, but make sure first you have some distance or they will be able to snipe you with the .50 cal.
  2. Nice! Is the brightness still adjustable?
  3. Mind sharing more details Yo-Yo? I guess that prop pitch around 12:00 and not go past certain ATA?
  4. I didn't know that, interesting! Thanks for the correction.
  5. I just do what I saw recommended. Brakes are needed because rudder has no authority in the initial roll and if I hit 100% rudder as soon as it gets authority it pushes me to the right too much. I found out that this works best for me. I just keep the brake for 4-5 seconds, nothing more. However, I will try your way tomorrow!
  6. Controlling the 109 during the initial steps of the take-off without axis controlled brakes is a very difficult task and I don't know if it is even possible at all. The 109 has a small rudder that it doesn't have any authority until you gain some speed so brakes have to be used in order to counteract the brutal torque effect the engine puts on the plane. However, just small brake actuation is needed which is not possible to do in your case as a button will automatically apply 100% brakes. With pedal brakes you pull the stick a bit back and a bit right, apply around 50% right rudder, and I think about 15-20% right brake. Start throttling slowly and as soon as you gain some speed and feel the plane going right, slowly release the brakes and start the rudder dance to keep the plane straight in the runway. In your case, I would try moving the throttle even slower, gain speed without much engine power in order to decrease the torque effect, and then as soon as you have rudder authority you will be fine. Give small taps to your brakes, don't keep the button pushed.
  7. Any update on this Nineline? Having functional trains in multiplayer will add a lot of variety to the missions.
  8. This is day one purchase for me and I can foresee that it will be quickly adopted as one of the main maps in many servers because it could be used for conflicts ranging from the 50s to modern days and most of the planes we have now in DCS had real combat use over those countries. Also, it is a big map so the possibilities for mission designers are great. It is certainly a great map choice. PD: I know the southern region of Turkey very well and have landed in Hatay's airport many times. It will be fun to land my F18 there!
  9. I usually cut in half my enemies after 2-3 30 mm hits which looks in line with those tests. Sure the damage model does no accurately represent the hole that we can see in those videos, but the final effect of the plane completely destroyed is there.
  10. My money is on a 109 G-6 that has been hinted lately by ED (I am leaving out the already announced planes). After that, I think that they are going to develop Battle of Britain, I am sure that Nick and Nineline are eager to visit that escenario. Also I am sure a Pacific setting is also in their plans.
  11. I agree on this, the fire is clearly overdone.
  12. Oh buddy, you made me.the happiest man on Earth! Thanks a lot! Also to Khope for this amazing piece of software.
  13. Hi! I want to try this mission generator soon and I was wondering: Is it possible to add the Supercarrier?
  14. Same here, but this happens in almost every plane.
  15. Same here. Got a couple of .50 cal hits and just some bullet holes in the wing, the plane started shaking and forced me to RTB. Fortunately I could repair it.
  16. That explains a lot! I wasn't able to hear anyone on SRS. Thanks, I'll try.
  17. Hi! Yesterday I have been trying to use VAICOM with the 109 and it wasn't working. Voice command were being recognised, but no inputs were being sent to DCS. Is the 109 supported? Thanks
  18. Is VAICOM working for the 109? Couldn't make it work today.
  19. I'm just waiting for the bundle with the P-47 to get it. I know it is not the most historically accurate map but it can cover many years of the war and we are getting eventually Battle of Britain so this is a must. Also we can use fictional escenarios and fight over a beautiful escenario. I would have rather preferred a Central European map but if Nick and Nineline are speaking the truth about getting BoB, I better understand now their decision. Also Nineline said that developing variants of new aircraft is getting easier as they develop more and that new 109 variants are not far away. I'm hoping we can simulate different stages of the war soon enough so as soon as the bundle is up, they will have my suport.
  20. Sounds great Nineline, we all would like a more in line map with the aircraft we have now but if those are really your future plans, I understand better why you choose this setting. However, I still hope for a future central European map that can fit the later war planes. I am also a guy who is all in with fictional escenarios although having the possibility of being historically accurate is great as well. Many players always mention the other sim, but even there all servers have 'What If' missions because at the end of the day these sims are sandboxes so let the imagination fly and exploit this.
  21. It has happened to me always when I leave any controller plugged in. I still don't have 2004 and it happens. It has an explanation though: usually axis are always sending input as there is always some noise. For instance, a throttle value can be moving from let's say 1924 to 1925 and back constantly and without touching it. Windows or manufacturer software filters this and it doesn't translate into inputs in game or any other software however, input from the device is being sent constantly so it doesn't let Windows to go to sleep. It is a very old problem and I've got rid of it by installing a powered usb HUB with switches so I can turn the devices off easily.
  22. I use it for zoom, couldn't live without it. It allows me to zoom in and zoom out quicker and with more precision than binding it to a hat.
  23. Do you guys know the TACAN for the Tankers in Persian Gulf? It is really frustrating having to land with missiles left due to no fuel left and not being able to find the tanker. Also all of them are named the same, really confusing.
  24. Can you guys point me where he said that? Nevermind! I've found it:
