  1. Does that actually do anything though ? Do you get higher framerates or lower frametimes ?
  2. Can't really say i notice much difference, the only thing is that you can actually hold some speed in a turn (carefully) and you don't bleed all of it instantly with every move. The margin is still small and you can still bleed your speed really easily under G, but the way it was : under G you either went > 500 knots or 0. The transition between equilibrium and losing speed is a bit more smooth and less sharp. That's all i notice. To me at least It feels much more realistic now.
  3. Oh China you so cheeky https://nationalinterest.org/blog/reboot/stolen-and-copied-meet-china’s-j-11-fighter-jet-173796 oh : I see China was actually licensed to build them by Russia.
  4. Could still return the motherboard i guess and get a DDR4 board in the meantime. On the other hand, as soon as DDR5 starts getting available i'll want that just because ... hmm.
  5. F16 have red color for confirmed bandit and green color for confirmed friendly
  6. Datalink in multiplayer is a mess. Contacts are always dancing around , disappearing , turning red/green/red/green. DCS multiplayer is simply not suited for more than 15 players or so.
  7. It is also very dependant on the framerate of the server. If the server is struggling it's a warp fest. I remember this from playing Arma. As admin you could see the server FPS, once it got lower than 10 fps (or something, i forgot) the game would be a star trek transporter simulator.
  8. 16GB gave very long 'stutters' (up to 5 seconds) where the game just basically stops for me. This was no longer the case when i put 32GB in there. I have no idea how DCS uses RAM but from my personal experience i think you might be better off with 32GB if it's for DCS.
  9. Yeah i should have thought this through and just go with a DDR4 board instead. I did not expect that the RAM would be the issue in this case. Was way more worried about the actual processor.
  10. yeah no that's not even close to what you can witness in the videos. Not saying it's good (aim120 tracking in general is bad), but these missiles at least TRY to track ! In the video's with the F14's the missiles just fly in all directions. SIX of them, from behind
  11. I am surprised this isn't stored under "reported" yet ? I thought this was already widely known . F15's are currently flying around at 55k , mach 2.5, with 3 tanks and 8 amraams. While funny, at some point it should be fixed. Can't imagine it's a difficult repair so ....
  12. In light of F14 being invulnarable to missiles yet again due to its implementation of ECM , this should be bumped.
  13. Oh and meanwhile : What the actual hell o_0
  14. Well that might be placebo effect or maybe your 8700K was at stock clockspeed and because of the clockspeed of your 12 series being higher you might see some lower frametimes. Core wise or whatever DCS does not respond to new things. It doesn't even do anything with multi-cores does it ?
  15. So uhm, anyone can show me this happening to any other aircraft besides the Meme-14 yet ? No ? Thought so All this bla bla "i think it's not this or that"... meanwhile only with F14 (as usual) :
  16. ^ I still have an 8700k (altough at 5 ghz 24/7) and it's finally time to upgrade. For DCS i expect literally 0 improvement , nothing new works on this program so for me no hopes there .
  17. Ok so i went with the "Gigabyte Aorus Pro" motherboard. Apparently (and especially if you want to do even the slightest of overclocking) you need a very beefy power delivery. Not sure if i am doing it right, but if you take that @ stock the 12900K can already ask for a whopping 350 watts (peak) , it looks like you won't get those high boost clocks if your motherboard has 'crappy' power delivery. From what i read, you're supposed to multiply the number of 'phases' with the amps , and then divide by 3. The number that rolls out of that should be about the max wattage the board can deliver (stable). I also read that when you go really budget board, you might lose a bunch of performance on the 12900k, but probably only during very heavy workloads ? Anyway apparently it can cost you up to 20% loss in performance when going for a budget motherboard. Simply because they can not deliver enough power. For those interested, check out this link : https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-intel-z690-motherboard-roundup-ocn-edition.1794800/
  18. F14 has different ECM. It turns on and off really fast and that screws with DCS. And Mirage also has this on/off ECM indeed.
  19. Titel should read "F14 meme aircraft". But you're right. Nothing to see here. Just normal F14 things i am honestly not even surprised anymore.
  20. 6 missiles from a few nautical miles away, only happens with F14 apparently because nobody can show me that happening to any other jet. Please do not come with the odd "aim 120 lost track that one time" bullcrap allright ? That's not even close to what these tomcats are pulling off with their 'ecm' shield.
  21. What do you mean, does this not look super awesome to you ?? I don't think it's going to get 'fixed' . Don't think it can be fixed without totally demolishing framerate/frametime. This is just the way VR is now in DCS.
  22. Well obviously i looked at the tacview. But there is no mention where or to who it happens. So i've been looking for a few minutes but don't see what happens in the videos in this thread anywhere in there. Just saying "it's not tomcat i swear" and then posting some random tacview as if nobody is going to actually check your statement does not solve the problem. If it does happen like those videos to another plane, could you kindly point out who to follow in that tacview ? edit* Anyone else can point me towards the event in that tacview that the poster is referring to ? I really am not feeling like going through multiple tracks of multiple people trying to find that needle in haystack. (if it's even there)
