  1. The aim54 can now apparently after this patch. Seems strange that mega old missile and aircraft can but modern missile and aircraft can not. edit* , i see that phoenix missile also still does not give RWR warning to FC3 aircraft .
  2. Apparently the much older F14 can do it : "Fix for AIM-54 not going active on held tracks" I seem to remember the aim120 always had this ability but it can't anymore for a long time now. Isn't it weird that the ancient F14 and ancient phoenix missile can do that but much more modern aircraft and missiles can't ? When will this feature return for aim120 ?
  3. No need for sorry, as it does not involving re-installing DCS or even windows to test it And still for some people it might do something, i mean you can test it in 10 seconds so no harm done. I really hope ED will be able to do something with the implementation of the new game engine/API or whatever it's called. A new engine is not a guarantee for better performance if they don't do it right
  4. You are not aware of the aim54 not giving an RWR warning to FC3 aircraft ? (see attachment) That is worrying, so it's good that somebody mentions this in THIS subforum every now and then i guess. About the plethora of other issues causing the F14 to be banned from comp. play (again) : I wonder when you design a module, do you not know the limitations of the engine you are designing it for ? Let's say i want to make a module, that shoots missiles at mach 24. Can i just make such a module and then turn around and say "ED please fix" when it is apparent i've created something that the game engine can not handle ? Now look i don't know how this research works, so it's an honest question. Is it not normal to research if what you want, actually fits the parameters of the game ? So in short: Was this desync issue not forseeable ? As for the other current problems mentioned in the SATAL thread (see bottom attachment) , i'm only reading about them for the first time. I have learned though that this F14 subforum is NOT the place to be looking for problems that are beneficial to the F14, which is not good .

  7. And good luck 'notching' an active phoenix that does not give an RWR warning rofl What an absolute legend this guy, he can simply 'sense' where the missile is to the degree. Going through the few threads you posted they all seem to be about you wanting the 54 to have more range by the way. I 'sense' you are a little biased like 90% of people in this subforum. above is all @katsu btw

AND this is NOT the first time your magic `super amraam` give NO warning in TWS !!!"! Yes i am extremely annoyed, this stuff just keep piling on and piling on. And i can only find a SINGLE thread on sub-section about this by a person which i believe doesn't even fly the F14 . All F14 owners just echo chambering here only being vocal about wanting more (?!) range for their MK60's , but keeping totally quiet about serious **** like this.

  14. Well, the 30% decrease in performance is here to stay. I see the 2.7 is now the 'stable' version.

  16. This is in fact the most common way people use the F14 in multiplayer. Hurl all the phoenixes from a safe range and see what sticks. Usually they will surprise one new guy that doesn't know yet that '14' means danger. Most don't even bother to land anymore. Instead they just reslot to "save time". But hey, even if they don't get a kill in their sortie, at least they've disrupted actual fights by making the enemy defend their 80nm phoenix spammage. The 2x range advantage you have in the F14 is both a blessing and curse. It's a blessing because you really never have to die. You can get kills without even the slightest risk. It's a curse because i can imagine it would be really hard NOT to exploit that range advantage, but that in turn means you'll never develop that that feel for your enemies missile kinetics that you would develop if you were constantly amraam jousting on even footing. Same goes for SA i guess. I don't see how you can develop SA skills if you're always fighting from a safe distance.
  17. Does this work for multiplayer? The MFD's are really dark in certain conditions, and as they are already quite small in the F16 i feel they are literally damaging my eyes
  18. Hmm i see. Ok. For me though, it only happens if i do both of these two things: - Fire from way outside 'max' launch distance (so way before the circle starts to widen) and also: - Pitch nose up for 'extra loft'. If i do both these things at the same time there's a pretty big chance the missile will go stupid. The missile normally lofts on it's own, maybe by adding extra angle and also being outside of range something breaks in the guidance or something ?
  19. Guys ED has not even acknowledged there is a performance loss. According to them most people are seeing a performance increase so .... Maybe we just have bad luck, but this fps loss is here to stay.
  20. To me this only happens if the little dot is not in the circle when i fire. Which makes sense because you're firing outside of launch parameters. Stop adding 'extra' loft and your missiles will probably do better.
