Yea, I don't think they would wait 3-4 (which would be more like 5-6) weeks since the last OB update. I though I saw someone say the M2000 was in desperate need of a hotfix from one of the patches. Still, I'm sure they will give us (at least) a week notice. Although I would be very happy to go home and get a patch update with the 16 surprise.I can dream at least. :pilotfly:

Thrustmaster Claim The Viper Drops Today???
TheGuardian replied to itstheLIKWID's topic in Chit-Chat
That is funny. It would be awesome if it did drop today but I'm sure we would have heard about it by now. Amazing how companies don't check this stuff before they start posting. Then again, some could be having a bit of fun. -
I really just don't understand why it is important to know how many team members are working on the Hornet. Even if you got an answer from ED what would that change? I'm not a 3D model maker, or a script writer, there for saying "We have 6 people working on this!" doesn't answer any questions for me. Work load, complexity, bug fixing, making sure bug fixes don't cause new bugs all need to be thought of. This, to me and IMO, makes this kind of thread useless.

No no no, I knew it wasn't a carrier one and I know those are completely different systems for a completely different purpose. Sorry, I must have misread what you posted. I will delete that previous post as it is just too confusing. My bad guys.
-
Miracles abound I guess. Wonder why you test a system that would destroy an $18 million plane that would never fly again?
-
Speaking of carrier decks, it would be cool to add the safety barrier to our ships. If they model the tail hook on the 16 with no real purpose for DCS, the the catch net would be no problem (I kid).
-
absolutely. I'm learning more about this topic then I thought there was. Good info.
-
I found it interesting that they also use the hook when ground testing engines. I knew they tied it down but was unaware the hook was used in that test. Interesting that the F-15 and F-22s have the "standard" retractable ones like the Navy and marines use. A nice little read on the hook: https://flyingwithfish.boardingarea.com/2012/12/26/reader-mail-why-do-air-force-jets-have-tailhooks/

No, totally get that. I come for a more console based gaming structure, with a different idea of EA/Beta. I just few it that way personally so it makes sense for me.
-
I still get so confused by the lack of understanding of EARLY ACCESS. I have only been into DCS for about a year, and I completely understand/understood that when I purchased the F-18 I was basically buying into the beta program with it. Same with the AV-8B I am fixing to buy. It says all of this when you buy the module.

This I can verify, and by verify I have rolled off the boat after I throttled up thinking I was still hooked up.......on more than one occasion......I'm special.:pilotfly:

I do believe this could be easier to judge if we had a .trk file to see what is going on?

I have used mine for around 10 months now and I use the twist on the joystick as a zoom (cause i'm weird like that). I have not had any problems. I do plan on moving up to the Warthog around Christmas but that is more about wanting more functions on the joystick then any flaw I have found in mine. I love the throttle though. I don't own the rudder pedals so I can't comment on those.

SP Mission List Completion Status Column
TheGuardian replied to PPPAnimal's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I could get behind a completion column, even completion requirements but no perks. Also rank is mostly pointless other than the amount of seat time you have so, but I know for some they like it.I'm 75% with you though -
Anyone Accepting Money for Custom Skins?
TheGuardian replied to TacoGrease's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
no need to read the EULA first. I would never charge someone for a bit of artwork that is not my own to begin with. However, I can offer to do the request for free (100% FREE, no this for that or anything). Good looking out though for those that may differ from my view. -

Question: why not use voice attack if you are that worried about lifting the visor? I mean calling out your checklist isn't that crazy. I know, I know "But Guardian, I can't move my floating THING hand in the cockpit!" Just throwing up some ideas is all. I would much rather grab the HOTAS then Vive controllers (which is my VR) Oh and just cause it works on a Cessna (GAG) doesn't mean it works on a Hornet, or Hawg, or AV-8B

Best HOTAS system for use with DCS
TheGuardian replied to Bteague's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I use the T16000M Stick and Throttle and can't really complain about it either one at this point. The lack of bottons on the stick itself (not just the base) does kinda suck in VR but I get around that with voice attack. I do really like the throttle, it just feels good. However, like others have said, the Warthog is just awesome and I know when I get the money I will be purchasing the set. -
I have always found that if I look through the loadouts in the mission editor, it gives me a good idea of how to make sure the wings are symmetrical. I saw a video a few weeks ago on the different loadouts real A-10s use that kinda talked about it. If I can find it I will post it here.

BOY!!!! I need a new keyboard and monitor now, thnx for that. :megalol:
-
there ya go, I knew I had something about them
-
Yea, who knows. I haven't seen anything from Heatblur talking about the A release, but of course their are still many things to work on in the B so.
-
My understanding is the glove vanes were only present on the A models and removed on future versions. That would leave me to believe HB might have them on the A variant whenever it is released. I know I remember a post with Cobra talking about it but that was back before release.

What is the update plan for F/ a-18c this week?
TheGuardian replied to mojiao's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
How? HOW? HOW?!?!?! do you guys not read what you are typing before your hit the submit button. We have been getting constant updates about the progress on the Hornet. For the love of God, this is like reading the F-14 Release Date Thread all over again. What good would it do ED to say "YES, you will get the TPOD on 7/21/19 @1421 EST", cause god forbid a button not work or one pixel of static is visible on the MFD, people would complain that it got rushed. Or better yet have ED wait.........breathe........make sure they release a good to great TPOD that doesn't break the damn sim, only to have people complain that they missed the PROMISED update time table. Are you starting to grasp why people hate these kinda threads? Cause it almost always ends up this way. DEUCES :pilotfly:
