  1. That's the best part, "We'll have some news on it soon!" Well I flipping hope so, you're supposed to release it in less than 24hrs so yes, news would be great. I hope I'm wrong, but this just doesn't feel like it is going to be released tomorrow, or even a week from tomorrow. Waiting to play splish splash off roll down.
  2. not sure excited it the word I would use, more like preparing for the push back. One day before "release" and we still have pre-order, two vids about how the boat works, not really any news for the week or two. Nothing wrong with a push back to get it right. This release would be hella different from previous ones if it drops tomorrow. Not a bad thing, but I'll wait to be "excited" when we get a confirmation. Before you guys jump down my throat saying "BigNewy, said their still planning on the 15th!!!" "Planning on" is not a confirmation, it's an estimation. Things change. It's been a crazy planet for the last few months, delays are understandable, even last minute changes with no updates.
  3. that is a pretty ignorant statement. I'm sorry, you don't get to decide what people can and cannot buy. There is no evidence that TrueGrit will let drop the ball here. Like Fri said, EA is a choice that needs to be made by them, not us. If ED scared you off EA, that's on you man. My "suggestion" would be to read up on what you're about to purchase and make an informed choice. But then again some always have to have something to hate on.
  4. They didn't screw me over, I knew what EA was and was not. That line was intended for those that failed to understand what EA is.
  5. I think it is kinda sad that we are pushing the same troubles we have with EA on a brand new 3rd Party Dev. Give the guys a chance. Just because ED screwed you guys over on EA (your words, not mine) doesn't mean these guys will. People complaining about EA or not right now are part of the problem in DCS.
  6. I hope we get the best product we can. I don't know why I should have been surprised by the way @BIGNEWY worded his posts. Information they have, they can only share every third word :D. When they have no info to share, it's a "Wait till the Newsletter". I don't get it though, they have been really great about giving information on the SC the last month or so. We are so close to the "stated" release date and nothing has changed, discount/pre-order is up, we have gotten 1 vid from Wags showing how taxi and launch works and not much else. That is very inconsistent with previous releases. Those were the questions I had, but I guess we will all know for sure come the 15th if they are actually going to release it.
  7. 51st FW is right up your alley https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=259876
  8. Then why hype up the newsletter the way BigNewy did?? There was no reason to do it. People were asking about the release date of the 15th when he stated "More info in this weeks newsletter". Then people ask and 9L says "It's in the newsletter......WINK WINK". People ask again and BN starts jaw flapping about the FAQ, which mind you has not been updated since yesterday. Again, I don't care if it gets pushed back, would rather have in the best state possible. DO NOT CARE!! Just stop with the shell game. Also, you being a dev for anything doesn't really matter to this conversation, I am talking about then spewing info about nothing. If they don't have anything to say, then fine. I'm cool with that, but hey maybe I should go see if it's on Reddit as more news gets posted there then here anyway.
  9. I, like most, don't have a problem with a delay if it is to make sure they release the best product they can. However, I do mind all the jumping around. BN said a few days ago there would be more info in the newsletter, newsletter is pretty bare bones other then the crew night jerseys. Then you ask about it an they say look at the FAQ, it's get regular updates. Get you stuff together guys, stop making us jump through hopes to get some info. If you have info to share they freaking share it, if not say you don't at this time but stop playing a shell game.
  10. I will absolutely try this test and take screenshots. Trust me, I don't mean to make lite of others that are having issues, as I believe people are seeing performance issues.
  11. I, like sFLYa, must be the great exception. I have not seen most of the issues people have talked about in 2.5.6. Other than normal bugs that everyone deals with. My non-VR FPS is still at 120, with VR around 60. My $2k rig works just fine on mostly max settings. To stay on topic, I am glad ED won't rush to push the SC on stable. Give them time to get it right.
  12. The Ball is just the ships representation of your ILS glide slope. If you fly the needles and have them perfectly lined up, then you should hit the 3 wire every time. Well at least in real life, DCS has a habit of being DCS. I typically find that if I am on glide slope my VV is pointed to the left of the crotch and about halfway from the 4 wire and crotch. That is just me though.
  13. I think it is funny, I'm glad there is a work around. I'm still gonna try it a few times just because I can. Any occasion to laugh a little in the BS times we all currently find ourselves is worth it. I mean it's a sim so what if you die a few times, people complaining are probably the same ones dressed in full flight suits, helmet, oxy mask, and gloves
  14. ummm......the last update wasn't really about adding stuff but trying to fix some issues. You want them to just throw the update at Stable and try to fix it later???? Like BuzzU said: A quote from BIGNEWY. "Until 2.5.6 is in better shape we wont be updating stable version. not real sure what more needs to be said
  15. I own both, and like several others have said they are both equally fun to fly while also providing challenges in different areas. Tarawa operations to me are just as fun as Stennis. I think the Hornet is a little easier to learn as the systems are quite straight forward. If i had to pick one to buy right now, it would be the Hornet, simply because the SC is coming out in Two Weeks™, but I don't think you will be disappointed either way
  16. Yea, this is absolutely going to be a release buy.
  17. we also have know way of know that it will not launch or trap the Cat at launch. Hence why a wait and see approach is best. Considering Reflected said he "thinks" and "hopes" it's pretty clear where he is coming from.
  18. Lucky for me, I don't think that this is no problems, hence saying "Not sure what the problem is" not "There is no problem your equipment sucks". Some people have issues, no doubt, I was simply stating MY personal case. I wasn't "banging" on about the mod, just asked a question if he was using it. I tried it, didn't see any improvement, removed it. God damn dude, I wasn't making a case for him to use it was just asking for more information. I see that is not welcome, so I will shut up.
  19. not sure what ya'lls problem is. I get 45-55FPS in VR, 100-125 in 2D in the Viper. No issues at all performance wise here. Do you use the VR shaders mod? Ryzen 9 3900X, ASRock X570 Steel Legend, 32GB RAM, MSI 1070ti. All settings high, No SSAA, SSLR or MSAA. DCS on its own SSD.
  20. Oh lord, another Steam release date post
  21. While I understand your statement, I think those that pre-purchased the SC should understand it was a early access. Therefore "return on investment" does not really apply here, IMO. Since only a general time frame was released, I don't understand how hard it would be to accept 3-4 weeks of more work. Don't get me wrong, if they missed the window by 6 months that would be a huge problem and I would hope that is known. I agree with Maverick and BoneDust, nothing wrong with a few more weeks to make sure they get out a good product.
  22. BETA VERSION: For those that understand what a Beta version actually is, tests and help find and report bugs to ED. Must sign a wavier clearly stating what OB is before being allowed to download. This would also apply to purchasing a EA module Stable Version: For everyone else, so as to eliminate confusion. Updated 4 times a year , not withstanding new releases. Stable version only gets the modules once out of 1st phase of EA (I.E working damage model, 75% of weapons and systems working properly.) See anyone can do it.
  23. I am very glad to see this
  24. From my understanding the Channel map is a dedicated WW2 map. Like everything is set to that era. It wouldn't make much sense to add modern airfields to them. I get what you're saying though.
  25. I just installed a Ryzen 9 3900X up from a 5 1600X (yea I know it's like going from a Ford to Lambo) and I have been super impressed. Avg FPS when solo was around 110 (dropped to 90 if I check 6). I'm running 32gb RAM on a 1070ti (not overclocked). Very happy with my Ryzen
