  1. So I needed to install BS & activate it to be able to use BS2 in DCS World. That is fine. After this I uninstalled BS1 (I wanted to recover the hard disk space) and boom! the whole DCS World start menu dissapeared with the links to start dcsworld, updater, manuals, etc, not just the BlackShark start menu. It's not a big problem, I can re-create the link, but it's nevertheless an unexpected effect of uninstalling BS1. PD: I'm using Windows 8.1, it dissapeared both from the start menu and the "apps" menu.
  2. For the sake of understandability and usability, I'd suggest a change from: Flat terrain shadows to Dynamic (or volumetric or whatever) terrain shadows When the first is activated, shadows are less complex, less quality shadows. That is a bit counter-intuitive, everybody expects to activate options for more complexity, more quality, etc. Add to the renaming a change to the on/off functionality, so Dynamics terrain shadows ON uses complex shadows, and OFF uses flat shadows.
  3. Great! MI-8
  4. I'm in! generous, thanks!
  5. Very low end PC can play with medium graphics quality with fps ranging from 30-100 (4AA, 8AF and avg. medium ingame settings). I've tripled my fps, and I'm rejoining the sim (I've been out for 2 years, couldn't play). See my sig for what a very low end pc means XD
  6. Worked for me!
  7. Well that was a big bump. Anyway, the new BS 2 campaign, Op Medvedev II was ported to 2-player set of missions; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84134
  8. Normal from desktop to server list, normal from server list to server and normal to cockpit. Just DCS world 1.2.2, no ka-50, no a-10 modules.
  9. I switch to options-> LAN to avoid that error
  10. That would be really interesting to know. I think in Arma turning shadows to high passes the load from the cpu to the gpu, making the game faster if the right comnbination of cpu/gpu. Perhaps with shadows, water and other settings happens the same?
  11. (nvidia) play with Anisotropic sample optimization and Texture filtering - negative LOD bias settings, seem to fix it
  12. arrgghhh seen this too late, gl!
  13. oh wait, my mistake, i was deleting passwords not cookies meeeeeeek it works :)
  14. Same. No matter what I do with cookies. I can't even purchase BS2 if I wanted. Google Chrome here.
  15. It works above the engine, so you can make it work like you did with the hdr mod in DCS:Ka-50 by just putting some files in it's folder. In Arma 2 for example: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=123121
  16. Thanks a lot! (It also works for dcs:ka-50)
  17. A game changer in the genre? http://riseofflight.com/tryrof/en For the sake of it, I'm downloading it now. Perhaps I will enjoy those little airplanes, who knows...
  18. for wich sim? using the preview function and it's presets I think it forces AA and AF, this is good for DCS:blackshark and FC2 but not for A-10. For A-10 "use the advanced 3d image settings" check the dcs:blackshark nvidia default profile (it's bugged and it works for dcs:a-10, but not for dcs:blackshark) and force AF but let the application manage AA. For blackshark and fc2 create a profile pointing to simulator.exe and force both AA and AF. If you get how this way works (I mean, setting your own profiles instead of using the preview presets), it's best.
  19. It's because it has been created with "locked options" (meant to be played this way, or a slip by the dev). Wich mission is specifically? be sure you have the use theses settings for all missions active, go to the editor, open the mission and simply re-save it. Now it will use global simulator options.
  20. Well, you can start the whole GOW campaign, starting at the third stage, or start each of the three chapters independently, starting at the first stage of each one. Don't know why they did this way, but if you open the grand campaign in the "campaign builder" you can change the start stage.
  21. Well, you already resolved it, but take a look at this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=51765 It's the FAQ for the new sound engine in 1.0.2 patch.
  22. Buddy, you should try to resolve those matters with ED. Perhaps search for free licensed music, or whatever, but try for ED to use those videos as 100% official (you should get money from youtube, or even from ED, at least in species lol). Right now, I'm not really sure those are official, unofficial, unofficially official or officially unofficial :D I really think your work is important not just to ED but for the simulator community. Those videos are magnets.
  23. Basically, Steam gets to a VERY wide audiency (30 million total users last year, 6 million unique users every day) and there are many ppl that don't know more than FSX in the simulation genre and can get into ED easily. If you already know ED, buying through website gives them more money tho (I guess). Also, Steam is a good platform for downloading software at your will, whenever you want and wherever you are.
  24. No Glowing Amraam video on Steam? That video is a real money maker and it can create a whole lot of new sim enthusiasts. The D2D version uses another music (I guess legal issues with original one), can't this be done in Steam too?
