  1. I mean the pilot isn't spending a lot of time looking out the canopy anyway. You don't need to see out of the front of it to deliver an aim-54 to a target 100 miles away. Plus you have the vdi and instruments to fly with. The HUD is rudimentary at best. She just wasn't designed that way and to me it feels like a very accurate experience. An F-14 isn't an F-16.
  2. No I just asked the front line guy to send me to someone that could help me and that's where I ended up.
  3. I was worried but they punted me over to Omen premium support and the guy handled it without any issue. Getting an advance replacement and I didn't buy a pro, and they're fixing the warranty date too. Can't complain at all about that level of service I was expecting a mess.
  4. Just noticed a stuck pixel in the left eye on mine. Wonderful, guess I'm starting the support process. Also noticed my warranty started on august 9th when I didn't buy the thing until october 3rd so... that's a little wonky. Can't wait to sit on the phone figuring this one out.
  5. I leave mine connected and regularly sleep my PC. It wouldn't wake when I had it connected to the native Intel USB ports but plugging it into the onboard ASMedia 3.1 ports resolved that issue for me.
  6. Thank you. Saw a list on another site and it didn't mention the ECM pods for whatever reason.
  7. I guess it depends on the pricepoint they're aiming at and the overall features built into the throttle. But maybe?
  8. I should have included this in my original post, but... I'm aware there's a workaround. That doesn't change that this is a bug. The workaround requires every multiplayer server to make sure they're doing it. They don't all do that. They shouldn't have to. It should be a simple thing to fix.
  9. The one where tacan and ILS just turn themselves off after a certain amount of time has elapsed? Nothing better than coming in for a carrier landing on a multiplayer server that's been up for a while and having your ILS bars just turn off a mile out from the deck. Or not even being able to get a tacan fix on the carrier location because it's no longer broadcasting. And it's not even carrier exclusive, I've lost the ability to tune in airfields before.
  10. WRM's house opens when I put the headset on. Then I just hit the windows key on my keyboard to open the menu and click on desktop to open a virtual window for my windows desktop. I have a desktop shortcut for DCS, I click that and start DCS which starts steamvr, I never go to the steamvr house.
  11. Personally, I just put my headset on, click on the virtual desktop, and click on the DCS shortcut. DCS loading handles starting steam VR. Generally haven't had any issues doing it this way. Do have issues with the headset not waking until I disconnect and reconnect the USB but I'm pretty sure that's a windowsMR bug since my Odyssey+ did the exact same thing.
  12. Bind master arm/off to BTN24 on warthog throttle, master arm turns on when switch is on, then off when switch is off. Bind laser arm/off to BTN25, laser turns ON but not OFF.
  13. A lot of the default 3 way switches in heatblur's F-14 are 'if not one, then two' and 'if not three, then two' allowing you to correctly map them to the warthog and have them function as expected. None of the ED's F-16 switches are setup this way, making the real 3 way position switches of the warthog somewhat useless for a 3 way switch in the F-16.
  14. No physical volume controls that I've found, you'll need to adjust it in windows.
  15. Need to be in T:R (transmit/receive). Starts just in T.
  16. A 1080ti is plenty. My EVGA hybrid FTW3 can pull anywhere from 45-80 fps depending on the situation. If you want to spend more money, I'm not going to stop you but a 1080ti will do the job if you can find one cheap.
  17. Yes, he is. Headset looks impressive. We'll see if DCS handles it any better than it does the current pimax offerings (I'm guessing it won't).
  18. That's great I guess, then can we literally fix every single other module in existence because the rest of them are all stuck to the ground with epoxy.
  19. Honestly on the ground the viper seems to have like no friction at all. It glides around at idle with no effort.
  20. I ordered um... Wednesday night? It shipped Thursday and arrived Saturday.
  21. Is something wrong with mine, or is the picture excessively blue on the reverb? I get that it's LCD and won't look the same as the OLED Odyssey+ but this seems all kinds of wrong. The picture is dramatically cooler with significantly lower contrast (somewhat expected the latter). Through the lens: vs a screenshot: OK well. Lesson learned. Remove protective plastic blue covering from lens before complaining about excessive blue tint.
  22. Not sure if this one is F-16 only or not.
  23. With the shapeways push through detent, I didn't have to set a curve for the viper at all.
  24. http://dsteam.azurewebsites.net/SSA/beta/publish.htm It's always automatically updated for me. It checks every time the program is started.
