If there is no benefit on the weapon flight from maintaining g's in the pullup, there are still benefits to the attack profile as you can stay masked for longer rather than going into a steady climb earlier. The later you leave your pullup the less chance you have of taking fire

Ice - try doing a constant 2g pullup as per the video. Thats the 'toss' part IIRC. That gives the projectile more force and therefore more velocity/range. The extra margin for error should be compensated by earlier release and allowing you to break off earlier.

1. Refuelling (difficult for many of us ham fisted chimps) 2. Missile evasion (so far we have ironhands old LOMAC vids) 3. tactical mission planning (from briefing to mission completion. ingress/attack/egress). this would be a kind of "bringing it all together" tutorial bridging the gap between systems familiarity and real world implementation in the sim).

I havent tried that method. You trade in accuracy for speed and not having to be pointed at the enemy. Relies on good SA though.

Yeah, but if its slaved to the TGP it moves way slow, if HUD is SOI its much quicker as it isnt tied to the TGP slew speed. I reckon either vipers "fly the cursor at 'em", or nemesis 'HUD SOI cursor' methods are worth a try next time we fly. If we fly trail with good separation, when lead breaks under fire, 2 or 3 will get a good chance at spotting the AAA as long as we arent heads down, (which we shouldnt be if we are covering lead. yessir sorry sir ;))

Dragon Thats the way I was leaning. I just need to add "provisional" waypoints so the flight don't follow the tanker like ducklings after refuelling. The flag is useful. Cheers

I want a routine refuelling mission to get more interesting with tasking coming in as the flight is on the boom or just finished refuelling. Now all i can think of is; A basic time based trigger, but that depends on how good/bad we all are at refuelling, (i am shite). Might take ages and the trigger would seem inappropriate, (as i'd have forgotten what it said by the time i refuelled ;)). A static trigger zone once refuelling is done and the flight heads to their next waypoint. I’m not a fan of this sort for this kind of work as they assume too much linearity from the player, (unless i make a huge one covering the coast, say). A moving trigger zone attached the tanker. Once the flight ‘leaves this zone’, the message is triggered. What do the resident ME gurus’ think? :worthy:

Quick question. Do I need to park anywhere special at my home airport for this to work? I know I can hot refuel and rearm and switch off for repairs, and have seem strongharms excellent guide. Does location matter? Sometimes it works, sometimes not and I have a sneaking feeling that I have to park somewhere special for some / all of these functions. At work and have no manual access. :book:

What? You got it working? :doh: Ive been through that tutorial about 5 times. Ive even got a "warriorx" dartboard (sorry warriorx ;)). What did you do differently? I really need this to work as some missions have 5 bloody frequencies all on the AM radio, and you have to be like Jean Michele bloody Jarre on the ARP 2600 to change all the dials all the time. GAH! (starts making CrashEd dartboard.......:glare:)

Ah, datalink fixed. Just spent an hour online with friend trying to put each others eyes on same Target. Cdu and lat/long are fiddly when getting shot at. Having access to wingman spi will be almost a religious experience in comparison. Hope the patch fixes the bloody radio preset bug. Only a few people have that working. Another time saver.

I had a blast last night with this mission until I got up to get a fresh beer and got my headset cable caught on my foot and ripped them from the pc snapping all the wires. Great new technique for dynamic mission targets though. 45 mins of soldering later and headphones fixed! looking forward to trying the mission again. Go TUSK!!! Go Grimes!

It seems like whether the JTAC gives you a target in your TAD is hit and miss in this mission, (you have to circle him a while before getting targets, as mentioned in the brief). He will give you co-ords though, so just enter them into the CDU and slave TGP to the new WP. Its a doddle (http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1126958&postcount=4) I always change my load out. No TGP and Mk-82 AIR’s my arse!

has anyone tried the other campaigns? are they working? as this ones borked i will avoid. tried it 3 times and i get variations on the problems listed above. i am now calling this "beta7" from now on ;)

hmmmm. tried the overwatch mission and the TAD was flickering and wouldnt set SPI after hooking. it worked a few times but was flakey as hell. i will try again tomorrow. only so much patience allotted each night!

What was that mission Mr Strong? Sounds like a whole lotta fun and might delay my inevitable saturday task of unblocking the bathtub U-bend, (any excuse not to do that!) ;)

any which works for you. B4 was the 1st torrent that worked for me and i just use uTorrent. the ftp option never works for me.
