  1. Am I being ‘special’ here or is there no facility at this airbase? We can do it fine at Batumi, etc. Kobuleti is nearer the abandoned airbase that I and a few friends use as a lab for insane, (well ICE is insane ;), weapons experiments. And when you taxi over the where the other aircraft are you sink in the tarmac. Is it a holographic airbase? :geek:
  2. Dragon. Has much changed? I will update my profile once i get the bloody thing installed. I'm in 'activation hell' right now ;)
  3. Michael Corleone: (talking about Black Shark 2) "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in." ;) Cheers ED
  4. Do i go running at lunchtime (in the peeing rain), go for a pub lunch, or go home and install BS2? Groan.......... ....and im supposed to be flying A-10 in MP tonight........grrrr ED (wags finger)
  5. Hmmmm wikipedia has this to say on the subject of "upgrades"... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upgrade "...In commercial software, the minor upgrades (or updates) are generally free, but the major versions must be purchased. " So it is your decision wether you pay or not based on wether YOU believe this is a minor or major update. Dont blame ED if you dont want to buy it. I dont go to the bakery and rant about all the loaves i dont want to eat I bought the upgrade and will decide for myself wether it was worth it. From the changelog, yes. For me it is. Hence i bought it ;) [ i just wish i hadn't bought take on bloody helicopters 2 days ago now.......too many sims.....not enough free time.....]
  6. Give her a "flying lesson" for her birthday. Cheaper on your PC ;)
  7. A little OT, but would you reccomend the Saitek throttles? Ive been flying COD & ROF more and could really use the extra axes to go with the Warthog throttles 3.
  8. I would ;)
  9. Thats what I was after! Cheers Grimes. :)
  10. Eddie, I sussed out the orbit function but thought that was just for tankers as you cant specify orbit radius. I will give it a go.
  11. I have a CAP flight that I want to patrol an area until Bingo. Can I loop waypoints or do I have to create many many waypoints in a loop? I seem to recall they could be looped for AC but not for ground units.
  12. AIR's are the one munition I never use. I cant hit a football field with them. a mate i fly with, (ICE), can take off a T-80's top hatch with them, but i gave up. A video would be nice. It would be good to have complete proficiency in the munitions available, but IMO, low drag bombs leave you far too exposed so i prefer toss bombing if i have to go low with dumb bombs. I would expect fast movers to be using these if anyone, as screaming over the enemy at 600kts to drop Durandels in Falcon 4 is a far different matter to ''put-put-ing' over angry russians in an A-10 at 500ft / 300kts. You are asking for a perforated bathtub!
  13. What a great idea and compared to the vast majority of bumf on the app store, actually useful! (My inner (flightsim) geek is actually now outpacing my (tech) outer geek, so that’s going to be interesting when they merge) As one requested addition for spoons like me, in your emergency procedures area, something that I never could find in the manual. How to recover from dual engine flameout (flying upside down for too long thinking you're in TopGun). I know it can be done with enough altitude if you just go through the standard APU start. Is there a quicker way? Single engine restarts assume bleed air from one working engine.) This query notwithstanding, you have shown how an app on a handheld device can actually become an asset whilst flying, and that deserves kudos! Cheers Coolts
  14. Mint! as easy as that?
  15. Hiya Chris. One thing that’s got my head "in the shed", is trying to edit an offset waypoints altitude. As it’s based on 2d coordinates, you can end up looking at 'air' through the TGP. Being able to reset the coordinate to ground level after creating it would be really helpful.
  16. YAY!!!!! This evenings plans have now changed! Downloading at work......
  17. Right there is why ED are in the very top echelon of software devs. They really LISTEN and react to their customers issues and needs. No kneejerk see-sawing between feature overload / consolification, just a clear steady development of their greater vision taking shape. It’s a great ride and i have a front row seat!
  18. meh, its easy. just like beggars canyon............;)
  19. try "in the weeds". a great bundled mission for NOE flying. you have no SEAD to clear the radar missile threat so must use terrain to mask yourself whilst you prosecute the assigned targets. its a whole different ball game down low! its all about stealth ans minimising your exposure. great for toss bombing CBU-97's as well
  20. My Cougar was officiially retired when i got my hog. Its amazing and very "authentic" feeling in a heavy metal kind of way, as was the Cougar. If I had a modded cougar it would be the throttle that would still sway me. If I was holding back due to the cost, see how much you can get for your current HOTAS on eBay. no point having two, (unless DCS:Viper is next ;) in which case a lot of old cougars will be getting brought back from the dead)
  21. Moving house on sat. Got to get my pit up first so i can be ready for the patch when it drops. Who needs a bed or curtains? (hmmm trackIR may need curtains, DOH!) Of all the many fixes and additions, my inner "instant gratificatiov chav" is going to be most chuffed about the dynamic cockpit shadows, i just know it!
  22. Us 'beta boys' have had long hard winter! Show some mercy! It's springtime and I want my toys to work! (or give me an animated crew chief i can chase around after my systems start to randomly pop because he was using substandard parts).
  23. Not if you had planned a flight for days, only had 2-3 hours to fly, had to organise others on server/teamspeak, had to co-ordintate flight, plan ingress, recon area, identify & prioritise targets, configure weapon parameters, plan attack, pr........"my MCFD is broken, returning to base for a new plane, ah it's 9 o'clock, i haven't got time. See you next week guys, I'm gutted". An option or at least a .cfg tweak to let us turn this on or off please :smartass:
  24. Agreed. Please make "random failures" a menu choice as some of us only get a few hours a week to fly and after organising a MP flight, sorting life/wife stuff and securing those precious hours, there is NOTHING more frustrating than a random MCFD failure or somesuch. It has spoilt a few flights for me. Amazing progress though. Very, Very happy with ED and this sim. :pilotfly: ps. mmmmmmmmmmm cockpit shadows :)
  25. That's what i was thinking. Once we have the waypoint saved using this bullseye/offset method, we should then be able to edit the waypoint as any other, including the elevation. I think :)
