  1. When you say "THEY" you are referring to WinWing. What information are you basing your opinion on?
  2. I did the same: Warthog grip on standard WarBRD base and the gimbal flopped around a little. So over the weekend swapped out the springs in the base for firmer ones... 10 mins, most of it spent looking for the correct hex keys. Once open the spring change was fairly easy. Strong springs offer correct resistance for the weight of the Warthog grip: happy with it.
  3. Winwing, One cautionary thought that I had: I think I remember you mentioning Super Libra base deflection of 20 degrees. I think this is considerably higher than the deflection of competing bases from Virpil and VKB. I am not saying wrong, but just pointing out that this is a significantly different design decision. If the consumer uses a desk mount, there is a potential issue with nose down inputs interfering with the users desk. You can counter this by designing a desk mount with more desk clearance, but then this puts additional strain on the stability and strength of the desk mount (and potential damage to your desk). I've seen the photos of your proposed desk mount. 1) Would a grip hit the desk mount if deflected nose down 20 degrees and with left/right aileron input? 2) Same question with when used with an extension. (The VKB extension actually has a kink in it to help increase clearance with the desk / cockpit.) Maybe take a look at the Monstertech desk mounts: they have a nice quick release handle to allow users to remove a HOTAS from their desk easily. For users like me that have to work on my home PC this is very useful. While I like the design of your HOTAS, I am underwhelmed so far by the design of your desk mount. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised? I don't know. But it looks like a weak link / afterthought. I am just looking at it as a bonus so far, as it is a launch freebie, but for me I might get end up getting an aftermarket solution from Monstertech if I am not happy. Sorry for the ramble! Looking forward to my HOTAS regardless!
  4. @thurs I would not listen to this guy Katj if I were you. Of course there are diminishing returns as you move up in cores. And of course higher clock speeds are better than low clock speeds. But DCS does scale fairly nicely with more cores and threads. I have a 6 core / 12 thread 4.8 GHz OC CPU and the CPU runs at very high overall utilisation with all cores contributing meaningfully to DCS. I'd just point out the blindingly obvious that a 48 core / 92 thread 2.4 GHz server CPU might not do you any favours in DCS. You asked about the Ryzen 3000 build that you had proposed. There is plenty of excellent feedback here that addresses your questions. And the proposal to get a 3700X is an excellent choice. I hope you enjoy your new build: it should be awesome.
  5. Thanks, it is useful to know what serial number deliveries are up to.
  6. Go 3700X with a X470 given your USB requirement. (B450 motherboard is ruled out by your USB port requirement unless you use an add in card / hub). Memory go for 3600 CL16 2x16GB if I were you. PSU go 750-850W if I were you... just to future proof yourself if you every want to upgrade to a more power hungry GPU. But for the setup you have there 620W will cut it okay.
  7. Heatblur's Jester interface showed us all how this Comms menu should work. One button and then look in the direction of the command menu you want to go down.
  8. So far no USB warning for me. But I did have to reset that annoying play zone thing last evening. (As usual I just logged the floor and skipped all the optional bits. It only took 30 seconds, so not too annoying).
  9. Yeah, you are correct: the sticker price of $800 ends up being c.$1,200 by the time it hits your front door after import and sales taxes. So it is considerably more expensive than grip, base, throttle, mount combos from Virpil and VKB. And way more expensive than Thrustmaster. If you are passing Shanghai, Hong Kong for somewhere like that then it makes sense to try to snag one of these sets on that trip as you could end up paying closer to $800. Everyone's perception of "value" differs, but what is less subjective and more objective is the extent to which the performance of the Wingwing kit differs from those other products. There looks to be a significantly different design, so I expect many people will be leaving it to the testers and early adopters for information describing the performance difference. (Myself, I am an early adopter). But undoubtedly this combo ends up in a higher price category than those other products after delivery and taxes.
  10. Welcome Leonardo. I am glad to see the positive impact that you have already made on the M-2000C. I am keen for that and the AV-8B to get completed properly and then I am pretty excited to see the South Atlantic content the Razbam is working on. Razbam is a cool developer to work for: congratulations.
  11. Yes mate.
  12. I got the same. I figured that as long as I pay only once, I don't mind if they send me two HOTAS systems. LOL :music_whistling:
  13. I had problems with this because my UK address was in a format not expected by shop.winwing.cn. However I emailed WinWing with a screenshot of my address format and their software engineer changed something to do with the postcode format options. After this the "save" button worked and I could complete the order. Email Alex on info@winwing.cn and include a screenshot. He should help you.
  14. China to EU costing c.$130 cheapest option by FedEx.
  15. Well, that's it... I am in Marshal holding pattern. Now I just need to remain patient! (I expect customs will be another kick in the nuts).
  16. And I am having problems where the shop website will not save my postage address. I can enter all the information, but the "save consignee address" button does nothing. (I am in the UK, if that makes any difference).
  17. Pre order delayed again: new date 10 July. Changing shipping company.
  18. And the website is not allowing me to enter a new account address.
  19. There are already prototype pictures of the F-16 / A-10 grip on their previous forum postings .And they have said that such a grip is on their product pipeline. The joystick base and throttle base are clearly designed to be able to be used as a system with interchangeable grips and throttle handles.
  20. Okay: good.
  21. Does http://www.winwing.cn pass on to shop.winwing.cn? If so that is even worse than no security certificate as handover from a secure domain an unsecure domain can also pass on cookies and things that usually are restricted to SSL level encryption / trust. So yeah: I am very keen on getting this HOTAS, but if the secure website passes us to an insecure domain then this is a deal breaker. We need clarity on this.
  22. Patience young padawan. Wingwing said that videos for grip and throttle are coming. Preorder obviously opens at the end of the day tomorrow, but goes for a few weeks. So there is still plenty of time for them to post additional details while still giving you time to preorder and get the 12.5% pre order discount.
  23. That is good feedback. I can't stand the childish logos. I really don't want that shit: please can I have my HOTAS without the childish logos?
  24. Excellent video on your joystick base: very interesting to see the design iterations you have gone through. It is almost as if you have made some of the same design choices made by Virpil and VKB in V.2 and then said... "Nah. Just not good enough!" V.3 looks state of the art for high end consumer level products. Very well done. Please would you give some additional information about your grip? Specifically: what design choices have you made with the functional buttons on the grip? Have you chosen Mil-Spec switches, high-end commercial switches or what? Also what are the internals like to the grip... how are switches mounted, glue, screws or what? How is the grip secured to the base: is it sufficiently robust... what were your design choices for this? Also the electronic interface between grip and base looks very interesting. (Sorry... I am an engineer... these details interest me!) Great to see your website sorted out now with https encryption. Hyped to be on the pre-order.
  25. FYI: I notice today that their website now has an https connection.
