Alright, thanks for the update. Good luck getting it finished.

Hi Wojciech, regarding the Ottoman Courier... I checked your website regarding this. It mentions release 2Q 2020. Please would you provide an updated ETA? (I imagine that you have been rather busy putting finishing touches on the Raven One story / campaign, so that is fine. Just asking for a general idea on release of the AV-8B missions.) Thank you.

" they are aware of" being the important part of this. Not dissing you for sharing. It is interesting. Probably confirms the idea that there will be no Ti cards this year. (But it could also be some sneaky work smithing / dis-information... for example the in between card might not be a 3080 Ti, it might be a 3085 for example!)
-
Yeah, I am beginning to this this way too. The 3080 is definitely the sweet spot in terms of price - performance. For a general gamer at 4K resolutions this is probably the best buy. However two caveats: 1) There is a very high probability of a 16GB or more likely 20GB 3080 Ti coming out in the first half of the new year for only an extra $200-300. So if you move right now you need to be relaxed about that. 2) For someone wanting to run DCS or MSFS 2020 at 4K or higher then I think you would really be better off going ::whatever:: and buying the 3090. *** If *** you can afford it and will not be eating only baked beans and drinking tap water for the next month.

Thanks for the response. Can you explain to me how and what I need to do to raise a bug report? Where do I start the process? (The game does not crash. It just acts weird, but I re-trim, carry on flying and wait for the gremlin to strike again). Thank you.
-
That is great news. Unfortunately the postal system takes time, but this isn't their fault. I had similar very positive response from Virpil when I experienced a problem.
-
Exactly. It is the SSD direct to GPU decoding that will saturate PCIe 3.0 x16. But for that to be a problem it requires software support. So not a (first world) problem for right now, but it is coming.

Great stuff. Thank you. Looking forward to Draken and positively salivating at the potential for an A-6. ::drool::

Nah. Just wanted to trigger Winwing's PR department in Brisbane. Mission accomplished. Return to base for tea and biscuits. Hurrah.

Such a description has been levelled previously. Did you listen to the recent Growling Sidewinder, Nick Grey interview? Let's put it this way... The Mig-19, M-2000C and AV-8B are all fundamentally decent modules. I have them all and enjoy them all. And they are usable. But the Harrier - in particular - is quite complex and has numerous bugs and quirks. In addition it is flat out missing core features. And I agree with the earlier comment that the ARBS is so fundamental to the AV-8B that fixing the remaining issues with this should be a high priority. I don't intend to buy another RAZBAM product until that is sorted. Heatblur (Leatherneck), by contrast. Anything they put out is a day one purchase for me at full price. I don't even have to think about it.
-
Here is another opinion:
-
I imagine that it is to do with money and stage payments. I expect that only a proportion of the money from a module sale immediately gets paid to third party developers. Coming out of "early access" is probably a hurdle for the final stage payment from module sales. So maybe RAZBAM need the AV-8B module to come out of early access to keep the lights on? And besides, if they are already out of early access then they might also have gotten their full payment / full share from module sales. Therefore they are off the hook. Their further incentive to complete development and swash bugs is therefore based on the impact on reputation and the willingness of customers to purchase modules developed by them in the future.

Hmm... I've noticed my trim suddenly jumping one wing down for now apparent reason: no weapon release; didn't touch the trim hat; no other keys mapped to trim. By opening the control map [Right CTRL] + [Return] I can actually see it move during flight. Then I have to retrim it back to centre on a symmetrical load. I wasn't sure if it was a gremlin with my HOTAS or a gremlin within the AV-8B module. Is this the problem you guys are describing?

I was clear in what I wrote. Glad to hear that your joystick button did not fall off.
-
Thanks for explaining. I am keeping an eye on these throttles as I quite like them, but when I saw your photo I was concerned about grip button quality. There were cases of one of the joystick buttons falling off you looked at it the wrong way. Glad to hear that this was not the case on the throttle grip, but that you were just tinkering.

i7-7800x 6 core @ 4.8 all, RTX 2080 Ti mild OC, 5K monitor: I am GPU bound mostly. Same story in VR. GPU bound for the most part. People saying CPU bound are probably talking from their own experience. But for people with powerful computers and powerful output devices you can easily tick game settings that ask too much of an RTX 2080 Ti. That is why so many of us are drooling at the thought of a RTX 3080 or 3090! Woof!

Did your slew sensor button hat fall off?
-
How are you finding this combo? Did you overclock and what peak clock speeds are you getting. (It looks like a very nice motherboard, without spending unnecessary money on the crazy boards).
-
Nice find. Interesting that it looks like Tech Power got their tip off from the plans for an Asus Strix version. So probably credible information rather that just a blind guess. 20GB... yeah! $1000-1200 I guess. Probably $1000 for FE, $1100 for Strix and $1200 Strix OC.

Yikes. Sorry to hear that mate. Hopefully it is just website gremlins. I can't believe Nvidia would not want Aussies' money. Anyways, as soon as we get our Anglo-Oz trade deal you can import GPUs from the UK. And I can import Margaret River wine from Oz!

Increase RAM speed and increase memory bandwidth will both help. But running out of memory will regardless introduce a massive bottleneck. IF - I stress, if - you run out of VRAM. I imagine you can tweak settings to manage VRAM usage, but you don't want to resort to that if you don't have to, do you?
-
Thanks. I did read on another thread that DCS takes whatever GPU RAM is available less 1GB... so it kind of expands to fit whatever is available. But this is certainly something I really want to understand before laying out £1400 (+£750 from the 3080) on a new card and another £150 on a water block.

On buying Nvidia partner boards... why would you? Possibles. 1. Maybe you didn't snag a Founders Edition in time. 2. Warranty policies. They vary widely, but for example Zotac offer 5 year warranty. They also have a UK RMA centre making exchange less of a hassle if you live in the UK. Asus - for example - have an RMA agreement with OCUK if you buy from them that makes it hassle free and OCUK give an upgrade option within 3 years to upgrade to a newer model card if the old one fails. EVGA allow mods to the card provided that you return it to factory condition (for OCing water-cooling etc). 3. Some custom bios can allow higher power limits beyond what the Nvidia bios allows. 4. Maybe you like tacky frickkin RGB laser beams on your GPU. 5. Relevant to me: The NVidia Founders Edition uses a custom PCB and not the reference PCB. Therefore generic aftermarket water blocks from EK and similar companies will not fit the Nvidia card.

I've got the same concern regarding the 3080, but considering that I am currently rocking a RTX 2080 Ti with 11GB GDDR6 and using a 5K monitor without hitting bottlenecks in DCS (no idea about MSFS) then I think I will be alright in 4K with the upcoming G2. Conclusion: 10GB probably sufficient, at least for me. Any kind souls out there with an HP Reverb generation 1 and and RTX 2080 Ti able to comment?
