I'll try the beta version of vive console. Maybe it is related to a specific setting, who knows... I have read from more people experience the same problem. I can try a new and fresh installation of everything, I'm coming from G2 and I didn't remove anything prior the VP2 installation. My FPS are fixed to 45 or 90 FPS. Also tested in extreme mode with the same result.
-
I tried at 50%, and as long the performance allows better than 11ms (most of the time), it runs at 90 FPS and ghosting disappears. If it goes below 90 FPS then I see again the ghosting. I tried without kegetys mod in order to ensure no artefacts. It is strange that you don't see this effect, it seems that it produces vive software. I'm not running the beta version. Steamvr is the beta version. The settings are exactly the same that it can be found in the speed-of-heat thread, about the optimal VR configuration.

it states a resolution of 3372x3372 I always forgot updating the signature... my hardware is basically composed of a 10900K@5.1GHz, 3090 FTW3 ULTRA, 32GB RAM and NVME.

I'm experiencing some bad behaviour that I have described in another thread, but it is convenient to expose here. While I disable motion composition feature (it is quite bad), and configuring VP2 in ultra mode, at low altitude flying I see some ghosting effect on every objects, such as buildings, trees, vehicles, planes,... That is, when the relative speed is high, mainly when you flight over an object and see it on your side. The update frame rate required is high. You perceive two objects at the same time, the original and its ghost, or maybe erratic projection. My settings are based on the proposed by speed-of-heat, where I get stable 45 FPS (kegetys and FSR mods). I have tested different SS values: 80%, 90%, 100% and 120%, same result in all of them. Lowering a lot the settings I manage to go under 11ms and I get 90 FPS. In that moment the ghosting effect disappears! So it seems to be a direct relationship. Any similar experience?

My review on Vive pro2 (vs. Valve Index / HP reverb G2)

Sure, I want to do some more tests later on, and I move to the other thread. -

I also notice ghosting during dogfights, and trying to identify terrain objectives becomes quite hard. I manage for getting 45 FPS (based on the Speed-of-heat settings), but something seems to be wrong. I guess you measure the FPS with fpsVR tool. Do you use Kegetys or FSR mods? Could you share your main settings? -

Don't you see any ghosting/stuttering due to the halved FPS? Mainly at low altitude looking to the trees and buildings on your side. -
Hi, I have been testing my new VP2, and trying the settings shown in this thread. Disabling motion smoothing (which is horrible) I get stable performance (45 FPS) at 100% and even 120%, where the picture is quite clear using MSAA x2. But when I flight low and look to my side, the building, trees and vehicles suffer from stuttering, which is a bit annoying. Otherwise, everything seems very nice. BTW, my rig is based on a 10900K@5.1 and 3090.

I have just received the VP2, but I have some issues with the base stations, maybe not placed correctly. Need more time... My first impression with the FOV was really good... -

I see, I supposed that motion reprojection option still appears for the VP2. -

I mean that, as far as I know, smoothing and reprojection are two different functions, and I guess that motion compensation refers to motion smoothing. -

I will check if I can do such installation, otherwise I will get two base stations. And meanwhile I want to review the settings to see how changes with respect the G2. -

I see now that the Ravens take off correctly, but the SEAD flight doesn't follow Tron51... someone has seen that? It seems that their waypoints are not correct.- 14 replies

My review on Vive pro2 (vs. Valve Index / HP reverb G2)

Good to know, the investment reduces considerably. Taking into account that I would prefer to use one base station, is there any preference with its location? That is, in front, one side... -

I was looking for such answer... I have read that I only need a base station (sitting position), but do I need the controllers? For instance setup process and so on. -

Do you feel that the DCS experience is enhanced with VP2 (comparing to G2)? -
I managed editing the 8v8 mission, using as a reference, and updating it with 120C missiles, it is much more easier!
