  1. Doesn't matter. ED already implemented that level of detail in the other aircraft: Su-25, 25T, A-10a/c, F-15. I am sure when they were making the damage model, they generally have a list.. Just wondering if this was forgotten... Because I am sure the simulation logic already exists, is just the graphical model that needs the update.
  2. Awesome. Have you ever seen the landing gear shafts/struts to show damage? or does it always look new...and only bend slightly? thats all I have gotten from the damage model.
  3. For sure. More than anything...I just want DCS 2.0. Don't even care about the new maps. Just want to play around with new graphics.
  4. Haha. ;) u know me too well Cato. I just hope they finally improve: 1) explosions for ground units: Need debris...as pieces fly apart and debris litters the ground around the destroyed vehicle. Ideally some physical movement...havok physics... as the explosion rocks the vehicle in question. 2) weather FX: Spray off the runway or ground when taxiing in the rain or snow... Rooster tails off the wheels.
  5. EDGE looks really promising. I love the splash fx in the new water. Can't wait to check it out for myself.
  6. ....and that is how rumors start
  7. I agree Kuky...its nice to see the flares have their own trajectory and weight. I also do love the effect... It might require some color tweaks...but I think it might look better in edge.
  8. Comeon... its not that bad. The smoke actually looks better than the paper cut out version of the old school LOMAC style flares. Wait till how it looks in 2.0.
  9. What do u know...the tires do burst on the flanker too... trying to skid at a relatively high speed. :p
  10. yup. nothing immediate...but definitely one for a wishlist. :)
  11. They shouldn't blow or strip at 30km/h but they should under more tough conditions
  12. I already tried landing in 1.2.12. At one point, forced the aircraft off into the grass. It buckled to the side...i put throttle on max and ejected... The hey did its own thing for a while. Took a trip through the grass, tumbled a bit... The great was still resilient. It wasn't until it tumbled three times in its side and over... That the great started to fail. And all this while... The tires remained in spanking new condition. Lol. I think may be the damage model just requires a few more enhancements... But I may be wrong. Will upload screenshots when I go home
  13. I think it is definitely because the Russian aircraft at designed to operate under tough conditions that they have such a tough landing gear. You can tell by the size comparison to the puny f-15 gear. But I remember watching the flanker documentary that the landing gear was even more strengthened for the sea flanker variant. That makes me wonder whether the current Su-27 gear implementation is a bit too overpowered.
  14. Also... Inspite of that, the gear damage model is no where close to what we can see on the old FC level su-25 and su-25t. On those, the independent great suspension has a graphical damage model and the tire can also can stripped.
  15. Haha...i did a test yesterday night in 1.2.12 and let the aircraft flip, left it full throttle and ejected...it rolled, flipped and even then the gear wad strong. Lol. Unfortunately it wasn't reproducible in the track file.
  16. As it says in the title, would be nice to see airframe vibration for all DCS aircrafts as shown by leatherneck in DCS mig 21. Its fantastic and very atmospheric to see the pitot tube vibrate as you are pulling high Gs and would be awesome to see such little detailed effects on other aircrafts like the frogfoot and toad. In the jets like flanker, eagle, I am sure the vibration logic can be attributed to the wings. Wing flex is being slowly implemented, but addition of vibration would be pretty nice too.
  17. I am sure we will get some info...but pretty sure that release won't be in decemeber. :p now that also 1.2.12 is released. That should hold us... Although... I hope to be wrong and 2.0 comes out on christmas day. :p
  18. This is 1.2.11 open beta in steam from two days ago. Still at work, can't try this out in 1.2.12 yet. Perhaps later tonight or tomorrow. But I don't even know if this is a bug...more curious about differences in landing gear strength.. I can see the physical size differences...but is the F-15 glass landing gear for real? is it meant to be so delicate? whereas the flanker one is tough as nails.
  19. Hi guys, I know there is not really a very objective way to do this... But I was comparing the speed/AOA/descent rate effect on landing gear strength in a bunch of aircraft the other day. My primary reason for that: Su-27 landing gear is almost made of STONE....very hard to damage. The only time I got it damaged was when I was taxi-ing too fast, drove off into the vegetation and throttled up to full... broke off side of the wing and one of the gear got bent down. But overall, the F-15 gear seems like GLASS. Very very delicate...whereas, the A-10, frog gears seem relatively reasonable in their ability to take the bumpy landing. The flanker seems like stone as I said earlier. You need to do something drastic to make it bend/damage. Is this realistic? or is the flanker gear just a bit too overpowered? or is the F-15 gear too delicate? I know PFM involves actual measurements of gear cylinders/forces etc. But is this accurate observations? cheers V
  20. I am sure for the units on a destroyed bridge to re-route, it requires a new AI logic. The logic of self preservation and almost a GPS system that would make path making redundant. Ideally, if there was a GPS ability for AI units, they can automatically re-route from the destroyed bridge to a different path... alternate bridge etc. Not to mention, if you destroy too many units in the platoon, they can bug out, and or hide bear buildings, in forests. But I think that is a big big job for ED to implement that.
  21. Would be nice to get some info on su-33 and mig 29 afm too. ;)
  22. The best thing would be if wags gives us a release date for edge beta as December. But unlikely if you carefully read the statement in last newsletter that said 2.0 is not ready and 1.2.11 will suffice for the flanker module. I think Q1 of 2015 is more likely. If this is the case, a good consolation present for Christmas would be some details... Perhaps more information about edge features: The new graphical FX, some videos and screenshots directly comparing edge to tfse... Best of all... Comparison videos of performance edge vs tfse. Come on ED. You guys had a good run this year. Finish it with a bang
  23. I can't find the colour tweaks anywhere in the given lua files. Is it really not possible to change it to a teal sort of colour?
  24. I know the flanker has a lot tougher landing carriage than the dainty little F-15 landing gear...but dayumm.... the eagle's feet are so much more easily damaged and so much more delicate than the flanker. I don't know if this is an incomplete model...but its really hard to screw up or just a bit too easy to land the flanker.
  25. wow! thank you so much. I was starting to struggle flying the flanker in a straight line. I looked into device analyzer and y axis was 32768 but x axis was 33611 or something like that. Used 1.13 from here and dead center for both....just as it was out of the box. Its strange..I guess the extended wear has slightly offset the stick? Why would it even change? but anyways..thanks again. So much better now.
