Yup, performance sucks right now.
-
Wow, thanks for the replies. I am very excited about it.

Just want to see if we could get a performance brief on Normandy and VR. I am hoping it is as good as NTTR 2.0!

Thanks ED for the Oculus Touch integration!
Scooternutz replied to BaD CrC's topic in Virtual Reality
Playing other VR games with the Rift and Touch, I have gotten used to switching back and forth. Not too bad once you get the hang of it. I am looking forward to the full integration. -

Complete Transport and Logistics Deployment - CTLD
Scooternutz replied to Ciribob's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
This is a script that is a requirement in any mission I do. I absolutely love it and appreciate the hard work that went in to it. I am getting into building FOBs and there is a beacon that is spawned as well. I use a lot of CTLD beacons already and couldn't disable the FOB beacon without errors. What is does is take the first beacon slot and bumps all the others down 1. How can I disable the FOB beacon. Thanks!!! -
Terrible VR stuttering in 1.5 with 1080 Ti and Oculus Rift
Scooternutz replied to Boris's topic in Virtual Reality
VR (Rift) in 2.0 is vastly different in performance and clarity compared to 1.5. I have PD still at 1.5 but everything else is turned up and mirrors are on. Having the mirrors on just adds to the ridiculous immersion factor. Fuhget about it! -

Hope so.

I love this kind of issue. I have real world flight experience in the SH-3H Sea King. Both the Mi-8 and SH-3 are similar to a point. In the H-3 we would use one engine for the main drive to power the rotor-head and the other would be backed off to power auxiliary systems. Lately, I have have been flying the Mi-8 in the same manner. I have had no issues backing down No. 1 to idle and using No. 2 for the rotor. I was shocked to see this actually modeled. I just assumed it was not. Now as for unloading that rotor. Just like the H-3 you have to calculate your descent. Every approach to the USS Saratoga CV-60 (AGE ALERT!!!!) was slow and deliberate. You can do a tail whip and unload a ton of speed but you have to ready to go from forward transition to hover in a few seconds. And, the transition from forward flight to hover is modeled beautifully. I often thought the H-3 was going to come apart even at slow transition. Once we were coming into Patrick AFB, FL, on our way to AUTEC, Andros Is. Bahamas and the transition was so violent we thought we we lost a blade tip. Again, beautifully modeled with the Mi-8. Glad you figured it out!! :)

Terrible VR stuttering in 1.5 with 1080 Ti and Oculus Rift
Scooternutz replied to Boris's topic in Virtual Reality
I had the same issue until I deleted all Nvidia software, including drivers, and deleted the card from the device manager. I rebooted and let windows install the basic driver. After that I installed the Nvidia drives, latest, as normal. My install is on a HDD and I rarely see below 45. I have shadows on medium which is awesome in VR. Other than that my settings are exactly like 59th Ravens post. In closing, my 1080 had stuttering even at 45FPS. With the 1080TI it is smooth. Even in X-Plane 11 when my FPS dips to 35 it is still smooth. -

How good is the Ka-50 flight model?
Scooternutz replied to TripRodriguez's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
The flight model is a dream. I have been flying her since April 2009. It did take me a while to master the flight controls and I won't get into the whole trimmer debate. What is in the manual is very accurate and that is how I fly her. Once you do master her, it will be the easiest helo to fly. It is funny to watch others weave and bob and I am holding manual, rock steady, hovers and I think its easy. That is years of practice. One of my favs is to drift sideways and fire missiles. Now I fly the Shark with my Rift, forget about it! -

Okay I got it now. Can't thank you enough for this amazing work!

I am sorry, didn't clarify. The Complete Transport and Logistics Deployment (CTLD) Script. I use the script in almost all my missions and sadly, and I mean sadly, I can't seem to get DAWS to work with it.
-
Hate to ask and I am sure it is in this thread somewhere, but, is the CTLD thing still a bug? :(

VKB T-Rudder Pedals - Review
Scooternutz replied to rrohde's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Checked it out many times. The precision of the pedals themselves outweighs the minor annoyance. I have them anchored to my Volair SimPit and they are just amazing. Mounting is a must though. And they are silent and easy to clean. I have two dogs and a kittie so I am always vacuuming up hair. The MkIVs are super easy to vacuum off. -
VKB T-Rudder Pedals - Review
Scooternutz replied to rrohde's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I always get the CPUID Error when trying to load the new Virtual Pedal Profile. I have never been able to update the firmware. They pretty operate out of the box and i use the button method for toe brakes which is not smooth but works. After the error I have to physically unplug and plug back in. Still love them for the rudder itself. -
VKB T-Rudder Pedals - Review
Scooternutz replied to rrohde's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I use the Virtual Toe Brakes and I have no issues. These are the most responsive rudder pedals I have ever used. Never mind! I was using the button method. The virtual toe brake, new method, doesn't work. Never has. -
Near perfect stand for sensors - Rift or Vive
Scooternutz replied to cichlidfan's topic in Virtual Reality
True, that is a nice case. I just can't believe they were under $40. It took me a while to get that darn tracking done for the Touch Controllers. -

Anyone getting 90fps in anything with a prop or rotor?
Scooternutz replied to Jamesp1's topic in Virtual Reality
I do at times but usually stable at 45. Even smooth at 35. 1.5 PD as well.
