  1. Hello Pilots! Is there way to assign the left and right mouse buttons within the DCS UI, for the TM Warthog? I do not use Target. I would look in that master Rift thread but it is massive. Thanks and have a flying great weekend all. Scooter
  2. Got mine today and have both Touch and Headset sensors mounted. Looks very professional and tidy. Thanks again.
  3. Just order them! Thank you!!!! I was getting ready to get into my wood working room and make something. No need now. :)
  4. It will be here Saturday. I am looking forward to it. I have read more good than bad. Any thoughts?
  5. Hi Pilots, I would recommend that all RIFT users put some slack in your HDMI cable and securely ziptie it to the headset. I have read a lot of issues with the cable working its way loose and know someone that had to order a new one. Just a little trick that can save you a headache later. If your like me, I will not fly in 2D after flying in the RIFT. I would just play ARMAIII until I got a replacement.
  6. My command - 1988-1992 CVW-17, HS-3 Tridents, (HELANTISUBRON THREE). SH-3H and SH-60F. Deployed on CV-60 USS Saratoga. VFA-81 Sunliners and VFA-83 Rampagers were the Hornet squadrons. Desert Shield and Desert Storm was the maiden deployment for them since transitioning from the A-7E. Their NAS was NAS Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL, where I also did my shore duty in the Weapons Dept. HS-3 became HSC-9 Tridents flying the MH-60S. They are with CAG-8 on the George H.W. Bush. Fairly accurate info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSC-9 I was there at the beginning! I am in. I will be in touch soon. My current squad only flies BMS and I am flying with the Rift and could never fly in BMS. I haven't flown BMS in two plus years anyway. I do, however, spend hours designing DCS missions for my squad to fly so they can get into DCS but most never do. :( They are stuck on BMS. See you in TS!
  7. I installed last night and I am very impressed and thankful. I fly with the Rift and it helps a lot.
  8. I noticed the A-10 HUD isn't washed out when it hit the horizon. The current DCS HUD, for the A-10C, is unreadable above the horizon, for me, most of the time, during day flights. Definitely going to try this mod.
  9. I use the shifted hat switch to adjust my up/down front/back view. It would be exactly like adjusting the seat in the A/C and that is what it feels like. The VR zoom just brings in some detail when you need it. I don't use it often.
  10. I hope you get it resolved soon. I have the Rift but that is not say I wont go through the same thing. Hopefully not. Sorry to hear about Frys and the wearable BS excuse. Shouldn't matter and they should take it and get you a new one. That kind of stuff pisses me off. Good luck.
  11. Hi Pilots, Is there a way to view VR Docs such as PDFs while in VR flight? I would love to bring up a Chucks Guide while flying. I am going to try the Kneeboard maker program as well. If anyone has any advice I would welcome it. Thanks!
  12. Yup, saw the tape before the mouse. Want to do that now!!!!!
  13. I am going to try that mouse thing, What a great idea!!!! Are there any issues with the 2nd mouse? I assume it shows up as a separate axis in the UI. I am also having a heck of a time with VoiceAttack. I love it when it works but I seem to have to repeat things four and five times.
  14. I have a 21" taoch screen right in front with the TM MFDs attached to it for Helios. They are just high enough where I have to lift my head to see the buttons. I am seriously considering moving them down to I can see them through the nose space on the Rift. I would love to still be able to export Helios to tbe touch screen but have not figured out how to get get a dual display. I have an A/B swith for my 55" monitor but it doesn't let the Rift HDMI signal through. For some reason the touchscreen and rift work coming from the same card but the big monitor wont allow the Rift, with DCS, to work even though it is plugged into a different card. I have been so addicted to VR flying I havent spent a lot of time messing with it.
  15. I have seen a lot on this as well and WOW!!!!!
  16. Once you get used to flying in VR you will be able to hold a hover better than you ever thought you could. :)
  17. Congratulations! As for the resolution setting, I have not changed mine. I think the Rift has its own thing going on for that. My pixel density is at 1.5 and all shadows are off. The rest is really up to you AFAIK. I will not fly with out the Rift. Just found out about the VR Zoom feature. I have it mapped to my pinky button on Warthog so I can keep it pressed while I use the mouse. It just makes it that much better. Sadly the original thread for the Oculus Rift, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164807, it so big it is darn near impossible to find anything. You will see a lot of bits and pieces threads. There is some great info on the Oculus forums as well. Try to get your settings to your satisfaction ASAP, turn off that dreaded FPS counter and fly. I have been flying for two weeks without the FPS counter, aside from no kidding testing, and have been just having so much fun. Set up a hat switch (shifted) to move the view "cockpit camera" up, down, front, and back. This is just friendly advice. Welcome to a whole new world of flight sim!
  18. Not sure what you are asking but I use the Cockpit View controls. Move UP, Down, Back, and Forward. Hope this helps.
  19. You may have to move your task bar to the side or go to full screen (ALT-ENTER).
  20. I can turn my head to the left more than the right. Found out the same way. I am practicing a lot of right hand approaches to practice and stretch out my neck. Getting to those aft switches is an eye opener as well.
  21. Did helos in the Navy and the Rift has brought back flight for me. I absolutely love it. I am having to discipline myself. All I can think of is flying. The Rift is really forcing me to use the basic flight mechanics that I haven't felt in the 2D World even with a ButtKicker. I feel my self sliding and I can feel the compensation more and I am back to flying the horizon. You real pilots know exactly what that is. "Get your head out of the instruments" is something I heard often. Had a friend over shortly after I retired, an MH-60R stick, and flew the Ka-50 and just thought it was terrible. He was still active and getting about 3 flights in a week training others crews at NAS North Island. He just smiled and said, "Dude, your just torturing yourself." Well now he is retired and flying with the Rift. If he reads this post he will know I am referring to him. His call sign in Navy was Dandy, short for Dandelion. Mine was Maverick! Just kidding, mine was actually Scooter. :)
  22. I get a consistent 45 FPS while flying. Even at Batumi and Tbilisi. At times it will go to 70 and 80. How does the 45x2 thing work. I am new to the Rift and I just want to learn. At 60, would that mean my FPS is 120? Thanks!
  23. I like this Rift so much the fact that I spent an extra $100 bothers me not.
  24. You know, you are absolutely correct. I am guilty of being an FPS display guy. Now that I have the system operating where I want I will try and not worry about it or display the FPS. It really does take away from the fun factor.
