    GBU39 SDB

Denmark received Block 1s, as well as 5s, 10s and 15s later. US F-16s were entered into, and won, the Tactical Bombing Competition, Lossiemouth, in 1981. The production F-16 Block 1 was not the YF-16, and was always A/G capable (to the lament of those who came up with the original design). Block 15 added the intake hardpoints (5L/R), not underwing. Back on topic, SDBs would have been great. But understandable why we won't be getting them. Edit: Also, the Israelis proved the A/G capabilties in combat, also in 1981, with Operation Opera/Babylon
  2. There are two seperate issues at play here. First is the LOD issue discussed here: Turning on the parser pre 2.7 solved the horrible LOD differences with clouds (most egregious), shadows, and smoke/fire, with the primary downside being floodlights only appearing in one eye, and occassionally seeing ghost coastlines. Despite being WIP and the stated issues, having it on was the better option for me. The second is that 2.7 introduced new issues with smoke and contrails appearing in different eyes with the parser on. Now that I've turned it back off, the shadow LOD issue is back, but doesn't seem as bad, and the new clouds are working fine as well as smoke and contrails. Coastlines and floodlights appear just fine again also. Overall, despite losing the performance benefit, having it off now is the better option for me.
  3. Yeah, we don't have EGI our jets. I haven't tested in DCS, but in the real jet, you're supposed to be able to do an in flight align on the ground in lieu of cocking and stored heading align, and have it sort it all out for you. Not sure if that's for the EGI models only though.
  4. Mirrors my experience and thoughts. Upping Steam SS to 130% from the default 100% produced a similar picture to what I normally see, with similar performance going by feel (frametime monitoring may prove otherwise)
  5. +1 And IFA actually is implemented as you state. If you need to re-align in the air, you set the switch to IFA, set/confirm your heading in the DED, and fly straight until aligned, then back to NAV.
  6. The brightess could definitely still have a few more clicks of range to be brighter. Agree with others here that at full brightness, it's not enough in VR. This mod makes them very much more bright, and is IC compliant. Unfortunately it stops the brightness and contast rockers working, as well as the HSI brightness adjustment, which is problem in changing light condtions. I think it might cause issues with the HSD rings becoming unreadable in certain sun angles, but I think the base MFDs might have that as well, only harder to notice as the brightness is so low. Worth trying with a mod manager. F-16C Readable MFDs.rar
  7. This matches my experiences 100%. So far, I think it's only Caucaus that's seeing this problem, and the intensity of it varies. I've been able to make out targets on GAW for example (nowhere near as clearly as before), but sometimes, no matter how much I play with the MFD rockers, there is zero IR readabilty. A good example is the Caucaus instant action missions, which were absolutely fine before, but now have a different cloud layer. I drove myself mad trying, and being unable, to spot some contacts in the second mission of Enemy Within before I was aware of this problem. Definintely something wrong.
  8. Got it, it's a shame, but at least your beautiful smoke still works flawlessly Also, I saw this a while back, so hopefully it comes true?
  9. Worked like a charm. Thanks! There's no such easy workaround for your better trees, is there? It exhibits exactly the same problem, but I assume it's heavily texture dependant, so never bothered to ask...
  10. Sure thing dcs.log
  11. Hi Taz, Since yesterday's patch, the V7 MP version is causing issues online. It still passes IC, but loading into certain servers (with pure texture requirements I think) cause a hang on role select, as I get with better trees installed. Smoke was working fine the day before on the same server I tried.
  12. That's what I was trying (but failed) to get at; a lot of similar issues cropping up for many folks, manifesting in slightly different ways. I can't reproduce it consistently either, and it looks like, as you said, vram issues.
  13. Does your Steam VR crash when this happens? If so, issues like this are happening to a lot of us: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/dcs-world-topics/input-and-output/virtual-reality/vr-issues-aa/290487-investigating-dcs-causing-steamvr-fail-description-evidence-and-how-to-replicate
  14. Oh they work for sure, I've tested.

    80’s skins

These were uploaded just today: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313076/
  16. Changelog specifically said the HARM sensor database was updated. Guy in my squadron gave these codes: 127 7 HQ-7 launcher 128 HQ HQ-7 search radar no idea where they came from
  17. Does anyone know the DED ID for an HQ-7? It was supposedly added to the sensor database this last patch, but no info on the google doc.

Thanks for checking, I also managed to get it working on a setup mission, with a Hawg callsign. Must be something wrong with the instant action mission I was using before.
  19. RIP I've got the buttons mapped for easy access on a buttonbox, and still can't imagine how annoying that must be to setup everytime. I do smash that save button a good few times after though to make sure it's set.

New callsigns work fine now, but has anyone been able to get JTAC working? Whenever I call to check in, either with voice commands or the options menu, I get no response back (pilot subtitles come up, so the call is going out)
  21. There's a save view binding further down in "view cockpit" which saves what you've set. Very, very occasionally it bugs out and I'll have to re-do it, but for the most part once I set a VR view in a module, I'm good to go. Agreed on yor HMD point though, sometimes I have to to turn it off when rolling in for guns or I'll have a big old SPI icon and other symbology obscuring the target.
  22. Oh that's good to see, I didn't even consider foam. And they seem happy with the results. Looking forward to receiving mine and experimenting.
  23. Has anyone tried to install a rubber washer/o-ring around the mini-stick, between it and the front plate to get a stiffer and shorter throw, more akin to a force sensor? Or some other way to get a similar feel? Something like this chap has done to his Warthog stick: I've just ordered the DS upgrade, and after trying an xbox stick under my slew finger to simulate it, I'm not so sure that I like the feel of it. But if it could be firmer, I could definitely see it beeing a significant upgrade for me.
  24. SA-9 is IR guided, can't lock them with HARMS
