  6. 1. diameter of the circle is the distance from the waypoint at wich you set the orbit to the next waypoint. 2. The waypoint at wich you set the orbit. cheers
MfG

    VR Audio

Prior to switching to VR i had my DCS sound splitted. I had the headphone sound (radio comms, RWR, warning sounds etc.) on my Headset and envroinment sounds ( engines, detonations, missiles etc.) on my 5.1 system. Added some immersion imo. When i got the G2, i switched to have all sounds on the VR headset. The G2 speakers are very good, but maybe splitting sound output may be worth a try for you. Cheers
Ecco the Dolphin) funktionieren einwandfrei.
  15. A bit confused now. In BVR, higher speed should be an advantage i guess. But in general i agree with the Hornet beeing the better A/A platform overall. That's not a specific mission. It's a feature of the SLAM / SLAM-ER missile combined with the D/L pod, so you can control the missile in the terminal phase and steer it into a target by yourself. And this while beeing 150+ miles away from the target. Very satisfying and a lot of fun imo.
  16. I got your post. Thats why i listed a few of those things at the end of my comment, where the Hornet is significant better than the F-16. I was just wondering about anti-ship since you said the Hornet does not offer anything the F-16 already can do better than the Hornet. Well you should realy consider doing anti-ship with the Hornet, as it is a lot of fun imo. Performing a coordinated Harpoon attack on a Kirov and sink this bastard together with a couple of friends is second to none. As Marlan already mentioned, the only things where the F-16 is realy better than the Hornet is acceleration/top speed (BVR) and SEAD/DEAD. Well.. and better HOTAS commands imo. But thats it. And if you are into cold war/80s scenarios, BVR is literally not existant with the F-16 as it cannot carry AIM-7 wich is why i'm not even considering touching the F-16 in cold war timeframe missions. I love the F-16, i realy do. Flew it for years in that other F-16 sim and also do own it in DCS, but love the Hornet even more tbh. In order to motivate yourself in getting back into the Hornet, maybe start the ME and create a stand-off mission with SLAM-ER and try the man-in-the-loop endgame aiming. It's great fun too and i'm pretty sure you'll love it.
  17. The F-16 does Anti-Ship better than the Hornet? Pls explain. Better SA, internal jammer, more variety of weapons, can do proper missions without carrying 2 bags, better stand-off capability (SLAM-ER), better navigation.
  18. I had exactly the same issue. As soon as i entered the "adjust controls" menu, there was heavy stuttering, but it depended on the selected modul. With the hornet, everything was ok, with the Harrier and the F-16 for instance, it was almost impossible to map any buttons. Chossing the Axis only option, stuttering was gone. Can only confirm the issue, but sadly have no idea how to solve this properly. Tried a repair and even a complete reinstallation of DCS, no joy. I started DCS without my G2 beeing connected in order to map buttons to the F-16 etc. But even in 2D there was still stuttering in the controls menu, but by far not as heavy as in VR. The issue was completely solved with my new PC.
  19. I'd recommend Delanclip with openTrack. Quality is great too. I remember opentrack to be a bit annoying to set up, but once it is set, it runs great. There are quite a few videos about that on YT. https://delanengineering.com/
  20. Basically Virpil grips do work on the Warthog base, although some of them with limitations. The Warthog base supports 19 Buttons + POV hat, so 23 Buttons in total. Some Virpil grips do have more buttons and some have additional axis wich is then not recognised by the warthog base. The WarBRD grip does have 18 Buttons in total so it should be ok, but unlike other Virpil grips their homepage does not list the Warthog base as compatible with the WarBRD grip. This may be just a mistake on the homepage. To be sure, i'd email Virpil support and ask them.
  21. The process is pretty easy, though more complex than switching the AB detent on the thtottle. I was able to put my outer cover back on after switching springs (blue spring, as mentioned), but i've seen a thread here on the forum where someone wasn't (also blue spring irrc). The green spring shouldn't be as massive as the blue and should be ok, i guess. But you realy should ask that Sahaj himself. If budget allows it, scratch that all and go for the WarBRD base.
  22. I have the Warthog and both Virpil bases. My 2 cents? Keep the Warthog or just sell the base and get a Virpil base. If you want to keep the Warthog, you can easily get a softer spring from Sahaj: https://warthog-extensions-by-sahaj.com/de/product-category/federn/ The green spring is significant softer than the standard black spring of the Warthog and should help a lot with your shaking desk issue. Red is slightly harder for extensions up to 200mm and the blue one is for extensions longer than 200mm. These aren't cheap, but quality is top notch (i have the blue one). I wouldn't downgrade if i were you. After beeing used to the Warthog, you will regret getting the X-56. Prior to the Warthog, i had the X-55 a long, long time ago wich is basically the same as the X-56. It's just that the X-55 was worth it's price as it was pretty much exactly half the price of the X-56 today. Logitech just changed color, added a 4 way hat and doubled the price. Some would call that scalping. Not to talk about, that the X-56 still suffers from ghosting wich a lot of people experience with it. For some it works like a charm and others cannot even stop the ghosting with a powered USB hub. The Warthog was a massive upgrade in terms of build quality, precision, used materials etc. and the Virpil bases again were a massive upgrade to the Warthog. Take it off ebay ASAP and get the green spring from Sahaj. Or sell the Warthog base only, keep throttle as well as the grip and get a Virpil WarBRD base.
  23. Hmmm... definately a difference. At least with the color, but not so much in terms of resolution. Comparing the text blocks in both TGP images and taking into account, that on the left image you are a bit closer to the MFD (the left PiP is slightly larger - i measured it on my screen left is 230mm x 220mm, right is 220mm x 210mm ), i'd say it's perfectly the same resolution. But realy can't tell for sure by these pictures, will have to check that by myself in VR. If the cockpit display resolution option affects the clarity of PiP MFD pages, i'd assume the difference should be as significant as it's with the mirrors. And that's obviously not the case. Will definately take a look on that tomorrow.
