Yes, that sounds reasonable, but it's a centerline tank...If I'm going full AB at say, angels 25, and I drop the tank, I usually get the caution...One time I forgot to drop the tank and was running low on fuel...I got a caution that said EXT. XFER...which I guess stands for "External Transfer"...I have no idea what that means but when I finally dropped the empty centerline fuel tank, the caution disappeared...strange

Thank you, David. And you too E_M

Yep, somehow my brakes were engaged, because I never use them for carrier landings...maybe pedals need calibration, but for whatever reason they were slightly depressed...I took control of the track and then saw that my brakes were on....so SORRY I SAID IT WAS BUG...YOU WERE ALL RIGHT, I WAS WRONG...FORGIVE ME :(
-
Did you watch it? The hook raises after the trap by itself...why? Don't know...just out of curiosity, why don't you download my track, then take control of it and let's see if there's a different outcome...plus I can see your expert landing and learn from it
-
Yep, here's another...went full AB for FOUR secs after touchdown....would not release the wire...bug carrier_practice_28.trk
-
Tension on the cable was released if you watch the track..the wire should have disengaged...bug
-
But they would IRL...right? And are you saying that this is a "feature"? I would think that the penalty for not using enough (and btw, I do use thrust on carrier landings) thrust while catching a wire, would be a quick jump into the ocean on a bolter.

Only time I put my feet on the brakes while on a carrier is when I'm lining up on the cat...and that's all, or taxi
-
So you're saying the apparent lack of full throttle and then immediate Idle caused this? And the deck crew will not unhook me because I didn't use enough full throttle? Hmmm

Instant Action Case I Landing Persian Gulf Map Single Player has happened before carrier_practice_27.trk
-
Sometimes I get a caution when I jettison the fuel tank and other times not...it seems to involve FCS...any ideas why?
-
Yep, I have ShadowPlay also...it saves the last "x" minutes (you set the option) of play by hitting a combination of key presses...you can change the macro to whatever...but it appears that your "save video" macro for ShadowPlay videos is overlapping with assigned key presses in DCS...not sure what the default macro was, but mine is ALT + F10...my photo capture is ALT + F1 which is also HUD ONLY DCS function...so I only use that when on the ground for desktop wallpapers

Exactly what I was looking for.. beautiful.. thank you...wow, only four bases with TACANs?? Are all the rest Red Coalition? How bout the PG map? Thanks again

[REPORTED] Jet Blast Deflector rises without aicraft on catapult

You can't issue "abort anything" when you're gliding in on the deck and you see a JBD up on the wires...watch the YT videos on this thread, especially the second one https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=217942 -

nope, don't play on servers -
Yeah, I saw that coming

I believe so...are these TRK files dated? I posted the file the same day it happened...or you could check the referred post date...thanks...oh, btw take a look at the YT linked videos...the second one was the ending of the trk file that you'll be looking at...also, when I watch my trk files, I always watch them without interference as this happened with the A10C way back when...the only thing I might do is use the speed increaser (fast forward). If using functions during playback contribute to a player "breaking" the replay, then by all means please have ED warn the consumers so you don't miss an opportunity to squash bugs...I see occasional bug reports with "MISSING TRACK FILE"...well, if the players are "breaking them" I can see why they're missing. The problem I was trying to have investigated was not limited to my experience...others have offered similar instances...if there's anything else you need (my hardware, etc.), please feel free to ask...thanks again
-
Well, if you got a few minutes, I could give you my track and you could play it...perhaps you can use the "speed up" function... it's in the following link https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=217942

The problem here is that when you see a bug, you are asked to provide a track...well, if the method of providing evidence of a bug, is itself bugged, what's the point? I have a nVidia card that uses its own video capture (ShadowPlay)...I had a problem I wanted checked into...I submitted the ShadowPlay video of the two minutes of recorded time within the sim that had the problem...ED wanted a track instead...I did have the track that the problem occured on saved but warned them, that the track was VERY long and I thought it was unreliable as I have seen these track corruptions before...anyway, I submitted the track and never got confirmation from ED..I went back to watch the TRK file and, of course, it had me ploughing into a bunch of parked planes on the carrier deck...so why would they confirm it? Pointless

I don't mind the cursor being in the top left corner (parked position) when I start ATTK RDR, but I hate it when after "releasing" a target, the damn cursor flies up to the top left...Why can't it just stay where you had it?

This is the same bug I reported, WITH a track file I might add...but there was no acknowledgment...but not only was the JBD being raised when calling for launch, it was also UP when I was landing on the carrier....much more important to remove this -
Nice, Nikola...thanks
-
Yeah, I was thinking about that, but I assumed it would just raise or lower the working engine RPM to whatever it needed to maintain the speed you were at, the moment you engaged ATC...BUT, with, let's say, you have enough FCS damage, that you needed more power from one engine than the other to compensate (i.e. trimming would not suffice), how would the ATC handle this?
-
If you have a throttle with two or more engine thrust levers and you have set them at different percentage levels of thrust, how does ATC (or engaging ATC) react to this? Does it keep the different thrust levels as you have set them, or does it even them out while trying to maintain a current air speed?

I see, and that's why I mentioned ROE (Rules of Engagement) a couple posts back when another poster mentioned "some sort of clear separation" before going Fox 2 or Fox 3...in the end, the pilot makes his decision based on his sense of sight and his instincts...there is no mechanical lock or gate that opens when ROE conditions are EXACTLY met, which allow the firing of the ordinance...so, sorry I wandered off topic, but I still am of the opinion that the "maddog method" is something akin to "ejecting"...you never want to use it, but it's there for last resort...thanks for the convo....lots of wise information to be gleaned from you guys...thanks again
