Does fix get applied prior to update or after update I'm not disputing the fact that errors will pop up. I would just like to have someone from the ED team tell us that the fix we have works and will not corrupt anything else. Not from one of the members, someone from the Developers Team...because this has to have been affecting them (the testers) as well. It's gotta be annoying for them as well....so if someone says they have the fix...please, ED, acknowledge that this will work or not work either way...would it take that much time to chime in here?
-
Well, if it's something that easy to do, why haven't we heard this from an official?
-
Well, not only that, but if this is something we'll have to live with each future update, it would be nice to know that now.
-
All the more reason we need an official response to this
-
But "Load Profile" appears not to be working...yes, I save my profile several times and on different drives, just as a precaution, but if none of these are loading, then we have a problem
-
There wasn't...I said I CUT & PASTE...cutting moves the folder thereby creating a void where the folder once was...believe me, I followed the OP's instructions to a TEE....don't know what is wrong, but it seems to me that there could be an simple executable made that does all this for you...
-
Yeah, that is directly the opposite of the OP's first post...so which is which? Now wait, that IS what I did. Follow it alphabetically....I'm going from Drive C: (Original install drive) to Drive D: the junction and new home of the downloads...which I did...so why do you have G as the originalfolder location? Also, we need to be careful of the syntax and where spaces are and where quotes are...since we're working in a DOS environment, we need to use double quotes for directories named with spaces...why can't they make an app that does all this syntax stuff for you...it's like we're panning for gold
-
Man, this is not working...I either get "Cannot create file when one already exists" or I get syntax error... I made a folder on D: drive called "DCS Download Junction"...then CUT & PASTED _downloads folder from C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta to the D:\DCS Download Junction folder that I created...now here is my command mklink /J "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta" "D:\DCS Download Junction\_downloads" ok, what did I do wrong

Did you go to church this week?
-
Yeah, that wouldn't work for me...I kept getting "You do not have permission" messages
-
Another question: How many of you are using some sort of head-tracking devices? Like TrackIR? I noticed that when I started DCS World sometimes without the tracking device active, I had problems with losing some assignments....don't know why, but there it is...and not just the TrackIR assignments
-
I wonder if it has to do with setting administrative rights...I know I had problems changing HUD colors due to some permission settings which I overcame by moving the original lua to desktop and then inserting the modified copy...but it would not rewrite the existing lua while in the working folder...wonder if that might be at play here...maybe not
-
for you maybe...it takes that long just to reprogram all the axes commands with all the dead zones and curves...and it happened last update and the one before...I kept thinking I was doing something wrong with saving it, cause I didn't hear anyone else squawking about it...so it's every update since, I don't know when...that it has been doing this
-
Yeah you must have one of the assignment boxes selected and then you can "Save Profile as"...then you get your system's file structure and can save it to any SSD/HDD you have...you do not have to save it to the default location ...I forgot to mention that you have to go to Controls Tab at the top, first, and then make sure you have an assignment box selected (any will do, otherwise the "Save Profile as" tab will be greyed out)
-
What's the point of saving your Button Assignment Profile, if the updates erase them? Not updating until we get an official word on this...:(

Yeah, I'm aware of that

What caused the explosion? It wasn't because of which LBAR we have. You can clearly see, that the plane launched before it exploded (which was somewhere down the track) and the blast shield was up, signalling a READY TO GO condition. Otherwise ground crew would halt the launch. Now, what's the problem?
-
I was hitting the LBAR and that was probably the reason the ground crew said "What are you doing?" But 1) isn't the blast walls raising or up a sign that the bar HAS connected? and 2) don't you need the launch bar to be down before you launch? Because how else can you catapult without it being engaged (down)?
-
Just practicing my carrier landings and heavy loadout take offs and this happens....now I did have some problems with the launching bar hookup, but as you can see, the alignment should be okay, when the concrete blast walls come up...but apparently not edit: sorry you have to go thru the boring approach and landing...it's also better to watch the end from F2 carrier_practice_7.trk

Yep, but seriously, it doesn't hurt to have more SA, don't ya think? And, turning it on before you taxi, is one less thing you have to worry about later, like turning on Engine Anti-Ice heaters....
-
Maybe they don't consider the "surprise attack on your air base as you take off" scenario...:)

Is there a reason why the RWR/EW is not part of the start up procedure?
-
The problem is, you change the HUD slewing to your liking, then the radar slewing will seem too slow for you but, if you don't mind experimenting try this Saturation X: 100 Saturation Y: 40 and Curvature: 100
-
I thought the same exact thing and was gonna ask it, but thought I'd just wait...but it makes sense if my idea that SIL is a non-radiating sub-mode of the radar system is correct. Then it would seem that all ACM auto-lock modes would be superseded by SIL...this would then force GACQ back to RWS mode instead of STT....btw, the funnel is better for snapshots anyway
