  1. 342M Multiplayer Really enjoying flying this helo multiplayer and both my (human) Weapons Officer and I are looking forward to the HOT-3/TV Synch fix so he can reliably hit targets. We've been flying on the 104th a bit lately multi... and it's great... just a bit disheartening for him when he doesn't hit after we work hard together to get in close enough.. ID and target... and fly HOT3's at 'em. We've been waiting for this capability for decades.. and are VERY glad your making the leap and taking deliberate actions to deliver it.   3. SteamVR Update Gents with Vives, There was a SteamVR update in the last 24 hours it appears. My SteamVr loads then crashes when trying to start DCS World 1.54 Open Beta (I have non-steam version). DCS World continues to load to the screen non-VR. I found that the only way it stays stable and works is if I launch and have running run both Steam and Steam VR.. before I launch DCS World 1.54 OB (stand alone/non-steam) I know, to date, I've been making sure Steam and Steam VR were not loaded when launching DCS World 1.54 OB based upon performance enhancement recommendations from others here... and that has been working.. until today. Anybody else seeing this ? Asking so I can track back to see if it is specific to my system or others are experiencing also. Semper Fi AldoUSMC

When things like this have happened to me over the years I have often found that a key I have mapped on a rotary dial was stuck/on/between positions repeating on one of my controllers avoiding ability to make inputs. Control key input is one of the worst because the input is harder to detect. I could be wrong but it is worth checking. Go as far as unplugging all controllers if you must to eliminate the possibility if everything looks centered/not on etc. Semper Fi

When wondering what a particular military system does or does not do... the Federation of American Scientists Military Analyst Section (fas.org) is a good single-source, open source site to get an education/inform yourself. You can see what they report about the AV-8 variants and what their various capabilities are/have been, who has purchased and operated them around the world etc. Obviously doing multiple source research using primary sources is always the BEST way to educate yourself on a topic... but if you don't have a lot of time... I think you will find FAS is pretty good. No... I don't work for them :book:... I've just done a lot of research over the years is all...
  6. Quick Leap Motion Test with Vive Taking a quick look at using the Leap Motion with the Vive this morning. Yes Vicx, the gloves show up as my hands. The hands are not functional with the Steam Interface other than for position. the right hand is still upside down and they get "wonky" quick. Again.. about a 10 minute test in the F-5E for a quick impression. I"ll have to take a look at the SDK and see if something can be mapped to the new UI Layer screen based on hand/finger motion... or something else since the Leap can see my hands and finger motion.. even if they are not shown yet as moving on the gloved hands.   8. Tested it this morning in all modules except the BF-109 and FW-190... the glove shows up in all aircraft and helicopter modules except FC3 AC. That makes sense since they don't have clickable cockpits. When I switched slots between Non-FC3 AC/Helos and FC3 Birds in a training area map I have the glove would disappear an instant after warping into the FC3 bird. So the glove is aircraft agnostic it appears as long as it has clickable cockpit functionality. I have a leap motion but, as noted already in this thread.... no one has written the integration software code yet for it to function with DCS World (that I know of). Other companies (not all inclusive) working on haptic gloves that I've seen on the internet are "Manus-Vr" and "Gloveonevr". No, I don't own stock nor am I a dev in either company... :music_whistling: ... though I probably should be... :smilewink: Semper Fi AldoUSMC
  9. Vive Gloved Hands in DCS World 1.5.4. Vive Controller "Gloved" Hands Gents, went back into DCS to look more at the gloved hands that show up when you have the Vive controllers turned on and within view of the Lighthouse Stations when in DCS World 1.5.4.55169 tonight. The gloved hands seem sized relevant to the cockpit as you can see in my attached images. I see that if only one controller is on (or only one in view of the lighthouses it shows as your left hand. If both are in view then right and left show up... but I had to hold my right controller hand upside down to get it to orient correctly. I confirmed the left hand only by moving the controller appearing as my left hand out of view of lighthouses and the right hand disappeared and reappeared as my left hand. This makes sense (to me) as most pilots will be keeping their right hand on the stick/cyclic a majority of a flight and would use their left hand to manipulate the switches etc. The hands don't do anything but float in space right now (apparently... fingers don't move..."touching" a control doesn't manipulate it) and if you jump to the Copilot seat in Gazzelle the hands stay in the pilot's seat area (unless you move your controller left the physical distance in your room to get them in the copilot's seat area. (I tried NUMPAD 5 to recenter view... recenter my view in copilot's seat but hands still stayed in the pilot's seat area when held right in front of my body at the computer) Anybody know anything about the functionality planned for this and/or any speculated timelines (I know the timeline thing is always "subject to change" here..) ?   10. A colleague brought in his HTC Vive and we hooked it up to my machine... running a 980Ti graphics card. Having flown DCS for years now... using 3x1 24" screens with Track IR 5 enabled.... Wow... While I do concur with others comments that some of the dials are a bit hard to read... there are optimizations to take place.. but being in the cockpit of the SU-25T and the Gazzelle..... seeing it in 3d and having the sense of spacial orientation in those aircraft... Wow.
  11. On my X-55 throttle I use the upper grey 8-way can to slew U/D/L/R and the lower can forward to zoom in and back to zoom out. Top rotary push to switch daylight to thermal and bottom rotary push to center/reset camera to helo heading. Bottom rotary is right above the slew can so it's right there to hit to center S/F AldoUSMC
  12. Night Vision Goggles on Multi-screen Setup Polychop-Simulations Team, Nice work, enjoying flying your SA-342M. Not really a "bug" but when I go to Night Vision Goggle view my center screen view turns into my limited FOV goggle view.. no issue there... but my left and right screens turn pure white. Please consider making the screens go black (left and right) vice white as it's actually unpleasant to fly "NVGs" with two totally white screens glaring on my left and right. I prefer not to physically turn the two outside screens off when flying night/low light. I am running 5760x1200 in 3x1 for that screen shot. Feel free to PM me with questions if you need more detail.   13. Ran into this flying SU25T on 104th Server this weekend and users told me to use RShft+\ key combo to shut AWACS up. It is a user side action fix for now I guess. Semper Fidelis AldoUSMC

  15. Infranahmed1979, If you think you are in a situation where you need to release it below the minimum safe altitude (1000m) you can also use the launch override key to drop it below 1000m AGL. Probability of hit could be severely impacted and you could be putting your aircraft in danger of being fragged by doing so... but that's all situational dependent... good luck... Semper Fi AldoUSMC

  17. Mission Save Problem Gents, I was having this same problem also but was/am unable to consistently repeat it. I did find, as was suggested in an earlier post in this thread...that using "SAVE AS" when I update something in a mission vice hitting just "SAVE" or hitting the "save" icon disk in ME would not create the naming problem for all the AC in the mission file. So for now.. I'm just using SAVE AS for each time while this gets figured out per Grimes' post above. Semper Fi AldoUSMC
  18. What happened that resulted in the issue? Created a multiplayer mission on one computer running current Beta 1.5.2.8726 that included the Mirage. I ran mission on the computer I created the mission on...it worked. Transfered mission file to a second PC I use as a mission server (running Beta 1.5.2.8726) and ran mission on second PC (joined the mission from first computer on which mission was created). Mission worked. I Tried to open the mission in the ME loaded to the second (server) PC (running same version of Beta 1.5.2.8726) and when I tried to open the mission in ME a window opened on the screen that says "Need modules for load mission: M-2000C by RAZBAM Sims" and would not allow me to edit the mission file on the second PC without the M-2000C module installed. I went back to the first computer and am able to edit the mission file in ME. 2. What were you doing that caused, or seemed to cause the issue? I am running the same version of BETA on both computers but "server" computer only has free modules and FC 3 module installed. It appears that a mission file created on a system with the M-2000C module installed needs to be edited on a system with M-2000C module installed. So it seems there may be a dependency issue with the M-2000C module at the moment. 3. Could you reproduce it? Yes, created a mission with only the Mirage 2000 C in it and was unable to edit a mission with the Mirage in it on second PC without Mirage Module installed. MirageDependencyTest01042016.miz 4. What module where you using, and does it happen with others? Using ME on beta as noted above without Mirage Module Installed. Does not happen for other aircraft modules. Semper Fi AldoUSMC
  19. Terminal 3 Elevation at UGTB Tblisi-Lochini - DCS World 1.5 Carry-over Elevation or ground clamping for Terminal 3 passenger causeways at UGTB is too high or off. Ramps are a bit elevated above terrain so that the jetway ramps hover in the air. Pic Attached. Semper Fi AldoUSMC

Gents, As a data point... on multiplayer servers as the Ground Commander playing the Tunguska first person (DCS Combined Arms Module) I have shot down other players with missiles using the optical guidance system.. they never saw it coming... but it's not easy as suggested. I've also done it to both Helos and A-10s with a Sagger Missile from a BMP... so don't "assume" all those BMPs are just AI when rolling in on a multiplayer server. Semper Fi AldoUSMC
  21. Installed the Beta Win 10 Drivers Gents, Report... I followed the delete instructions and re-install to the letter. BLUF: So far... so good... working better. So far, while not perfect yet, my profiles are working MUCH better with the new drivers.... I've gone back to input proper programming keypresses and advanced key inputs since some of my "work arounds" using advanced keys with quantized time to get functions to work are no longer required with the updated driver for Win 10 64-bit.   22. Hi Guys, Very minor issue ... when you get a chance please check the elevation or ground clamping for Terminal 3 at UGTB. Mine is a bit elevated above terrain so that the jetway ramps hover in the air. Noticed it taxi'ing this morning. I am running DCS World Version 1.2.16.43180. Pic Attached. Semper Fi AldoUSMC
  23. Concur with above and lighting is a big deal as pepin1234 notes. That's a good check MORG (what was illum level?)... since you wrote you spent some time flying around engaging..then it stopped working for you. If you are flying near dusk or dawn and want to used TV vice LLTV... you can always carry a couple SAB-100s to light up the target area...or have a buddy fly an Illum mission in support of your strike and keep it lit up for ya ! Launch Override can help save you if you just have to fire for some reason and know your target is gated but not locked..... Good Hunting
  24. Hi Gents, Similar multiple key press issues here and in some cases unrecognized in DCS. I'm thinking that, in some cases, it might be executing key presses so fast that the DCS is not "seeing them" happen. That's just my wild theory at the moment. I am running Windows 10 Pro. I've been tweaking the Quantize time (adding interval times of 0.10 etc) and that has been taking care of "some" of the mis-behavior. I have my X-55 (Throttle and Stick both) hooked up through a powered external USB 3.0 hub. I have most stuff working on a Su25T profile and have programmed 3 modes... I now note that my throttle will cycle through the modes but the stick only puts out Mode 1 programmed commands vice being programed differently for mode 1, 2, and 3 in the programming interface. Any ideas ?
  25. I'd like to Bump this thread alive again. Now that Combined Arms is gaining use within DCS World I think many would really appreciate the LVTP-7 being able to be placed in the water...swim ashore at an appropriate speed... and drive on from there... or go "feet wet" from the shoreline to swim back out to an amphibious ship. If there's not time to do several amphib ships... just do an LHA... that will give you a flight deck for helicopters and a well deck for AAVs (LVTP-7s) and the LCACs ! Even if the Amphib ship have to come later... make the LVTP-7's able to start in the water and mission builders can "simulate" that they have already splashed and are swimming ashore with their troops on board.
