What is the true reason for no Heavy Aircraft Module devs?
SmoglessPanic replied to Wing's topic in DCS Core Wish List

Yes! Incredibly detailed I appreciate the insight.

It's not that big a deal, I just want to get some seat time. It's not like LGB's are the only bombs you can drop or the only sortie you can perform. Figure this out later.

We can also take an Air to Air loadout with a TGP pod, maybe a center tank, and buddy laser for a Hornet, Harrier or TommyCat. Oh I cannot wait for Wednesday 10/9/19. (see what I did there?..lol)

How would you improve my system for better FPS in VR?
SmoglessPanic replied to JG4_Sputnik's topic in Virtual Reality
I have the same exact question as JG4_Sputnik. I figured I would ask here instead of starting a new thread if that's cool. I would like to get an Occulus Rift S but I won't be able to upgrade my desktop for at least a six months or so. Would I be able to get a decent DCS experience with the specs below? CPU: i7 6700K @4.0 GHz (not overclocked, plan on adding liquid cooling) RAM: 16 GB DDR4 - (plan on upgrading this to 32 GB DDR4 when getting the Rift S) GPU: EVGA 980TI Classified (plan on upgrading to 1080ti but min six months away) MOBO: Gibabyte Z170X-Gaming 7 Windows 10 I've had TrackIR (Version 4) for about 10 years and love it but I think it might be time to join the VR train. I was planning on getting two more 2K monitors for a total of three but that's the same price as a Rift and a few minor upgrades to my desktop. I wanted to see if I could do this until I can save up for either a 1080ti, I plan on building a brand new system but that is at least a year away. I appreciate any insight and thanks. -
Thank You, I appreciate the brief but very thorough response! I will check out the forum and ask any further questions there.:thumbup:

Would you be able to briefly touch on the pluses and minuses for both DCS and headsets? I don't want to hijack the thread. I've never considered VR until now. I always thought I would get two more monitors with my TrackIR but it's probably the same price around $800 bucks. If there is another recent forum with up to date info please let me know and I can check that out. Thanks! :pilotfly:

I don't agree with this, the fun is learning it and it being as close as we can get to real life. If you don't have the time to learn or are having a difficult time then practice, once a day at least like I did, forget about it take a breather and come back to it like I did. Everyone has their own way of learning, what I am getting at is don't give up. There are other sims out there which are easier, I like DCS because it tries to keep everything as close to realistic as possible for a sim. I had trouble with AA refueling at first, the SU-33 helped me get a feel for it and then with the Hornet I finally learned it. I'm not saying I'm an expert and can stay attached the whole time but I can AAR now and it's pretty satisfying to bank away from that tanker with a full fuel load.

[ACCURATE AS IS] The MFDs seems a bit small...
SmoglessPanic replied to dmatt76's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I completely agree with you, the way the team did the cockpit gives you a nice sense of depth for the MFD's and an sense of protrusion for the middle console between the legs from the UFC down to the Nav. -

Agreed, if only people acted like adults and not spoiled brats.

Air to Air maybe?
-
haha

Agreed!! I wonder if the pilots eventually figure out that the boom operator is messing with them when they drop like a tank a couple of times...lol...just awesome!

F-16 Videos & Pictures - Real World
SmoglessPanic replied to JumpinK's topic in Military and Aviation
I completely agree, it reminds me of the Finnish RIAT F-18 display cockpit footage but it's so much more VIOLENT with the Viper! It's amazing really. Not sure how to post vids so it shows the link and also this is an F-18 on a F-16 thread but for comparison I didn't have a choice. (Let me know and I will delete if not appropriate) :pilotfly::pilotfly: -
I appreciate your response and insight: I am beginning to find this out, it's a bit depressing and annoying because it drowns out the people who actually want to be positive about things. I fully agree, if you can't handle a WIP/EA product then don't buy it, plain and simple. Saying well I paid so I deserve so and so doesn't mean a damn thing really when you knew what you signed up for and also paid for (WIP/EA)...smh At this stage all I want is to fly in my favorite plane and in my favorite servers, I would take it with just seeker head Aim 9's like the F-5 at this point without RWR, I dont care I just want to be in the cockpit.
-
This thread is funny...its EA for crying out loud...ask for a refund and buy it when it's fixed. I for one don't care, I paid for an EA aircraft, I'm more interested in flying the damn thing. man you guys b*tch...wow...Let them finish the damn EA module then complain...if you must..which you will. IF the RWR didn't warn you of threats it would be a different story but it does warn you, you guys are mad it's a hornet RWR...does it matter? I does the job until it can be replaced, it's something minor in the grand scheme of things. I am honestly amazed Wags answers questions around here....
