BS2 1.2.x bugs and glitches thread (not CTD/BSOD)
Griffin replied to Erforce's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'm hoping Belsimtek will keep their products in better shape than ED. Only a couple of bugs corrected in 1.2.4 and none of them concerning the systems. :( -
Damage model, maybe not perfect yet :D

I think AlphaOneSix said that it would be impossible to fly without the whole tail section. It's large, heavy and would create a huge CoG shift. I will be really surprised if there are pictures proving that possible! -

And Vanveken is not the author of the photos or anything he shares through his blog. -
Just tried Cold Start In Mozdok. It worked fine with everything shut down. HMS didn't power up though but I think it requires power.

+1 I hope the sling loading gets developed successfully.

I'm wondering what the engine stall has to do with this. If the center of gravity is way back, no amount of engine power (don't be a smart ass) would help in that case if it's completely impossible to level the aircraft.

The black ring above the landing light is a missile warning sensor.

I doubt they penetrated on this occasion. My guess is in the international air space in the Baltic sea. It's quite common for Russians to fly close to borders and test the response times and other things. I don't know the standard procedures on RWR use for RuAF. There was some sort of scandal in Sweden because they couldn't get any interceptors deployed while Russians practiced mock attacks on their defenses. http://www.thelocal.se/47474/20130422/#.UYFfsbUqyT8

This is radio scanner audio file of Russian Air Force radio traffic when a lone Finnish F/A-18 is intercepting them. The Russian flight consists of two Su-27's and one A-50. - The Russians notice the Hornet on their radar apparently. They request to spot the bort number. - Turning on Beryoza RWR is requested. The RWR doesn't see the Hornet so it's possibly flying with radar off. - They have trouble spotting the Hornet against the ground. - The Hornet keeps it's distance and doesn't let the Flankers to check it's bort number. It maneuvers around them and sets a position against the sun. - They have trouble spotting weaponry on the Hornet. They spot a drop tank on the belly, two missiles under the fuselage and two missiles on the wing tips which they falsely identify as AMRAAM's. http://www.radioscanner.ru/files/aviarecords/file15437/ I don't know if anyone finds this interesting but I thought to share it anyway. It's quite interesting to me to realize that Russians can't recognize the weaponry on the Hornet and are only able to tell the aircraft and the country while the Hornet probably spotted everything possible about them.

Got it! Can't fly yet. :( Waiting for my KomodSim pedals!

Just purchased, downloaded and went to the options and set the theme to Huey. Was surprised to get the Vietnam music and now just sitting and listening to it! Thanks Belsimtek! I'm waiting for my KomodoSim pedals to arrive to fly this eggbeater. Can't wait!!!

Yep it is. A very nice one. :) http://hsfeatures.com/il2ir_1.htm Man I love russianplanes.net! http://russianplanes.net/id105715 I was so hoping that the Su-47 would go to serial production. I loved that plane. I love the PAK-FA too though. Ideally they would have combined the forward swept wings to the stealth of PAK-FA. How cool would that be? http://russianplanes.net/id105714 It's a bit shame some people don't write down the aircraft type when they post a picture. http://russianplanes.net/id105688 http://russianplanes.net/id105685 http://russianplanes.net/id105684 -

That 57mm + 3P ammunition is an awesome combo!

I disagree. It's almost clearly visible that at 1:06 you can see him tumble from the turret onto the other side. The condition of his clothes matches with this. I replayed that part dozens of times when I first saw the clip to confirm myself what's going on. I wouldn't say he's that lucky. Yes he survived but I wonder how agonizing it will be in the hospital for many months with those terrible burns. Probably most of his lower body is totally burned. How many skin transplants? How many toes burned off? Ever seen the WW2 pilots with burned faces?

Syrian rebels using a Soviet K-13 (MiG-21, MiG-23 etc.) missile as an artillery rocket. Warning, loud Arabic music in the beginning. Footage starts at 0:20.

Pretty good! :D WTF :megalol:

+1! I'd love to pay for it already. Makes me wonder for how long can they fund themselves without customer money. It would surely help them out as they were planning the release many months ago. Imagine paying all the salaries and the rest of the fees without money from the outside. Someone has big bucks in this but I'm sure he has thought it out.

Someone told long time ago that the HUD you see on the video is old version and as you can see, the refresh rate is quite poor. It's been updated since and apparently it's what we have in the sim. DCS BS is supposed to simulate the real thing as it was originally made for training purposes for Russian military.

What over clock is you're CPU running?
Griffin replied to TimeKilla's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Intel Burn Test doesn't take a long time and for Prime95 you can run maybe 1-2 hours. Some forums on internet say you have to 12 hour load test but I find it ridiculous for normal gaming. I hated those programs too in the beginning but it's the only way unfortunately. Just as you spend time prepping your attack and flying to a combat area, you have to carefully overclock to hit the target smack bang in the middle and return home alive. :) My idle temp is around 43-45C and I easily hit 47C when watching Youtube videos and at load it gets to 60C. I find it acceptable from an old overclocked CPU though and I plan to take it maybe close to 65C. Just get a better cooler. You won't gain anything with an extra fan in your case if you have rubbish stock cooler. Your CPU has potential and if you're dreaming about realizing it, it's not that much money to easily take it further.
