Sweet, thanks! These FC3 aircraft seem great value with all the improvements and most importantly, realism. I found the lack of it as the biggest problem in FC2. AFM + 6DOF pit + realism = I'm buying it! Not sure about the Su-25 though. The cockpit does look really really sweet in videos. Oh well, maybe I'll get the Rook bug too. Really waiting for the T-Toad cockpit. Thanks ED! IvanK; that SH*T in cyrillic is hilarious! :D Wonder what that "iii O" there is though? PS Off topic question: How does the ILS work in FC3 aircraft? Does it switch on for every possible runway after you pass the approach waypoint as in Su-25T?

Would give my nuts to be that test pilot.......

WW II stuff to DCS World by Beczl
Griffin replied to sokolus's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Wow! That's something I didn't expect to see. How did you find it? Nice looking models nonetheless. Guaranteed Beczl quality and really welcome for the WW2 pilots here (not me... yet). I guess things worked out well for him as not so long ago he was drowning in work! -
Honestly in this thread my comment was due to my ignorance. I was about to buy the A-10A until I learned that it doesn't have PAC which, I understood according to this thread, is a feature found on this particular version. So I felt that an essential feature of the aircraft is missing making it unrealistic. If it's modeled correctly, EAC without PAC, then I'm fine with it and will buy and learn to use it as real pilots did. Assuming that you have read my similar comments in other threads, Black Shark in particular, are due to my frustrating feeling that the module is abandoned by ED. Those comments there are provocative on purpose but that's another story. So, does PAC belong in this particular model of A-10A or is it realistic as is? I'd be happy to buy separate FC3 aircraft because that's my wish on the forum come true.

The Vikhr is not as accurate as it might seem. The crazy spinning makes it much less accurate for example dug in tanks where you don't see much more than the turret and even in an open area, a side or front penetration is not guaranteed. In this video an Mi-28 fires a missile with a similar trajectory to Vikhr. In tight spots like in the edges of forest and urban areas that might be a big problem when precision matters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO77pkn0ChA In this video a US Cobra fires TOWs and Hellfires. At 10:04 a Hellfire is fired at a target behind some palm trees with a top attack trajectory where a Vikhr would smack right into the trees. IMO Vikhr is poor mans version of APKWS with a tandem HEAT.

Have they changed the default cockpit view recently?
Griffin replied to Dudester22's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Damnit... The update screwed my Ka-50 snapviews and it's not the first time! Do I really have to redo all of them every time I update?! I can't imagine that when I have multiple aircraft with custom snapviews in each... -
Guys, support your elbows on something. Make sure nothing is strained.

I'm having the same problem after a fresh installation of the A-10C... -
I think Vikhr is much closer to the APKWS and even worse technology. Vikhr indeed is a guided rocket, though with a much more specialized armor piercing warhead. Hellfire and the like are really useful in real war scenarios with their different attack profiles and lock on after launch making them superior to Vikhr in modern warfare. Another very useful feature in modern missiles compared to Vikhr is that ground troops can lase the target which is not possible with ze old Rjashian. The small diameter bombs and guided rockets are great use in the current US war theaters where Hellfires are an overkill in many scenarios. While Russian weapons might be cheap and simple, I wouldn't want to go to a modern war with them.

Sorry I can't help you but I had a similar shoulder pain before I got a table pad for my elbow. On the funny side though, you know how older generation people have pains more related to the hard labor in very physical jobs? Well then came the computer mice and related wrist problems, now the touchscreens are creating finger problems! Some TV person in Finland commented that our nation will not survive the evolution due the physical problems caused by the ever developing technology. :D

I have never seen a problem with imperial units. It's just not necessary to convert them in your head. If you have to learn the important speeds and altitudes anyway, I don't see any difference it makes if it's in another system. If the stall speed of an aircraft is 150 knots, it doesn't make it any more clear to me to know how much that is in km/h. I just see the dial and know when it stalls without converting the value. Same thing with the altitudes. If mission briefing and wingmen call altitudes in the same units, you still know if they are higher or lower than you. The exact altitude in your preferred units is just not relevant.

+1 I will purchase the A-10A if PAC will be implemented!

AFM is the problem there. In that case Hydra would fly like Vikhr and they have a very different control systems. Coders would have to create AFM code for the Hydra, otherwise it would be very unrealistic.
-
The dimensions are the same for both of them despite the different case. I would love the N. 2 with the N. 1 case! That would be perfect. And of course with the Ju-52 engraving. The stripes on the first one are in fact a corrugated background for symbolizing the Junkers aircraft skin style and IMO look very nice IRL.
-
Hello gents I've been posed with an impossible dilemma. For some reason I started craving a watch and found the Junkers watches. Now there are two models quite similar but very different. They are both very nice looking IMO and if only I could combine them both into a perfect combination. I'm asking for your opinion; which one of these would you rather have? Thank you! N. 1 ----------------------------------------- N. 2 N. 1 looks much better IRL than in the pictures. The video does it justice.

This month I'm having trouble getting past the desktop when I start my PC.
