A few months ago I promised to buy the BS2 full version if 5 bugs are fixed. One has been fixed and another under work I assume. Maybe two years to go?

Thanks flyer! It's so great to have real life professionals with us telling how things are for real. I hope Belsimtek will implement some sort of method to see where da package be slingin'!
-
Great looking list ED! Though for the Ka-50, I would have expected some more important fixes than just a cosmetic fix to the Shkval or whatever was wrong with it. But I'll count that in and 3 more fixes to go before I buy the full BS2 module to support ED in continuing support to their first baby. Hopefully the UH-1H transverse flow effect/ETL vibration will be fixed soon too. It definitely has a big impact on flying the aircraft and not realistic at all as described by experienced pilots.
-
Been thinking that how are we supposed to know where the load is during the landing and pickup? In real life the pilots peek out of the window or they have mirrors on the nose. Are Belsimtek going to give us an "open window view" option? For example, the number buttons from 1 to 4 are for different positions in the aircraft. Could it work the same way if we press button 5, then the window will open and the view would automatically shift out and down simulating peeking out of the window? It would be nice to hear from flyer49 how they used to do it in real life. Was it a head out of the window or strictly a co-operative effort of the pilot and crew chief? This guy has both mirrors and a bubble window but we have normal windows too, right?
-
You are right and there is discussion about this with many real pilots saying it's unrealistic. The landing and transition is not hard in itself but learning to overcome the vibration messing with your head is the most difficult in approaches. My hands and feet can now keep a good control of the helicopter during approach but it still disorients my head. The same effect could be achieved with less than half of that vibration. I don't mind it as long as it's tuned down to a realistic level as should be in DCS. Let's just hope it's going to be fixed in the final version.

I don't want to be nitpicking on your posts but just want to emphasize what I said above. I don't mind the vibrations being there at all. I'd just want the vibrations reduced to a more realistic level so you won't feel like the instrument panel is going to fly out of the window. It's almost as bad as in Ka-50 when you lose a part of a rotor blade. It would bring my concentration back to flying the helicopter instead of disorienting me big time with a fake visual effect during the most crucial part of the flight. What ishtmail said there is a seriously great idea. I might really get Buttkicker one day so support for it would be awesome! And of course without the visual earthquake getting in the way.

I asked the author of this video about the ETL vibration and here's what he answered.
-
In my opinion the ETL vibration is way over the top in DCS currently. I don't find issues with controlling the aircraft at all despite my flying being really bad with so low hours. I don't mind the ETL vibration as long as it's realistic. So it's not a problem with the flight model itself. Several professional helicopter pilots have said that the current situation is not realistic at all. The seat of the pants effect can be achieved with less than half of the vibration present currently without sacrificing the "feel". Currently I find it the biggest problem in my approach to hover transitions. It takes away too much of my concentration to get out of the insane shake. I know I can overcome it with practice but if it's already deemed unrealistic, why have it there. I certainly hope it will be reduced in the final version. PeterP, heard anything about the video? Here's the best video I could find from inside the cockpit. Not this or any of the worse ones give you any visual ETL shake in transitions. In fact, the shaking gets worse with the increase in speed. Again, I don't mind having a visual shake to try to simulate something you could feel with your arse but the supposedly helpful shudder in your bottom has been transformed into an earthquake that's about to rip the instrument panel out of the window. Starting at 4:45.

Daily some stunning photographs are uploaded on russianplanet.net! It's awesome that officials over there are okay with releasing them nowadays. http://russianplanes.net/id112993 http://russianplanes.net/id112992 http://russianplanes.net/id112943 http://russianplanes.net/id112940 http://russianplanes.net/id77910 http://russianplanes.net/id112816 http://russianplanes.net/id113052 http://russianplanes.net/id113039 http://russianplanes.net/id113029 -
Sweet looking charts! I'm assuming you guys don't fly UH-1 or Ka-50 but is there any reason why one could not use these for flying helicopters? I see you have a couple of empty cells in the bottom table. Why not add ADF frequencies to them? Hopefully the sim will develop so that you could use just one version of the charts. :)
