  1. DCS 2.5.6.53756 Open Beta Animations of the stick's pinky (NWS/Undesignate) switch and A/P Disengage paddle are criss-crossed.
  2. Have you seen Redkite : Supercarrier Templates pack?
  3. I thinks you're gonna love me; I do! For a few weeks I had a problem with TDC down not responding (up or further on the radar). I came across this thread but wasn't satisfied as I will not use anything else than my Warthog throttle's view hat (index finger position). The SOLUTION for me was: Go the the General command binding category and clear all 8 positions of the hat switch (that includes diagonals). These command have precedence over mods (i.e. Aircraft) key bindings. Go back to the F/A-18 Sim (or Easy ) category and remap TDC directions. While at it, get rid of those camera commands mapped to the diagonals.
  4. Salut Boudreaux, This is most likely a bug. The VR mouse cursor (i.e. small while circle) is not visible after displaying the voice chat window alone, using LCtrl-LShift-Tab. As a work-around, open the interactive text chat using LCtrl-Tab. Then the VR mouse cursor will show.
  5. Since the latest patch, I've noticed a major improvement in framerate (Rift S VR). Have you guy noticed something?
  6. Hi Rolds! I don't know if it's a related issue, but there seems to be a sign (+/-) problem with the weathervaning torque: the aircraft will turn downwind (the nose tends to point the same direction as the wind sock!) instead of into-the-wind. Very confusing when correcting on roll-out...

  8. Let me explain - Rift S: Cons: - Hand controller excessive battery drain - I think they drain even without any VR app running. - Fully charged NiMH batteries report low battery and PREVENT from using the headset even if I don't want to use hand controllers - bug in firmware? - Narrow sweet spot - Periodic static "click" in speakers - Without earphones, one can hear surrounding sounds - Inside-Out hand tracking is better for full room (the reason I "upgraded"), but is shakier than CV1 and loses tracking of hand close the headset, like when shooting a virtual rifle (the other reason I "upgraded"). - Noticeable fresnel lens artifacts in peripheral field of view. Looking sideways the brain has a hard time combining both (different) images into a single coherent 3D picture. - Framerate lowered from 90 to 80 which is irrelevant (unattainable) for most users in VR. But from 45 to 40 in half-FPS mode I find is noticeable. Pros: - Better image clarity in the sweet spot - A bit less screendoor effect - Much less God rays - No cumbersome external sensors required - Requires 1 to 3 less USB 2.0 ports. I'm not saying the Rift S is bad, but I don't feel I much improved from CV1 for the amount of money paid. I will admit I have used almost exclusively the S since getting it, I guess because of novelty and I want to give it a fair shake given I've been using CV1 from countless hours.
  9. DO NOT downgrade to S from CV1. Especially for DCS. Keep your money. When your CV1 is broken, you could consider the Rift S or other.
  10. I find this Mission Editor laser code interface a bit awkward to set three digits. :joystick:

  12. Well, Professor, which people do you represent? :smartass:
  13. Eat the elephant one bite at a time. Learn what you immediately need, whatever that is. You're stuck? Get on youtube (you will become very apt at typing "DCS World") and learn it. Multiplayer and voice comms (Teamspeak or Discord) is a very good way to learn. Also know that all aircraft come with written documentation: See folder .\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Doc\ The point is: learning stuff you don't need at the moment (e.g. precise-coordinate JDAM delivery) you will soon forget. Even stuff you need you will forget at first. Being a real fighter pilot is a full time job; it takes way more time than most of us can invest in gaming. Rejoice and be happy with that one thing you learned today. Rinse. Repeat. Good luck.
  14. You might be encountering the behavior where the initial transition from off to idle does not work until you move the throttles from idle to off while in the running simulation.
  15. Better than Tomcat (in which I feel I have to turn off mirrors and not use the nose-mounted camera). The Hornet performs well with mirrors and the DDI Maverick video. The question is: what are you doing without the Hornet?!
  16. I looked at the modifications in the faulty file: refactoring along with changes in calculations for the menu position caused the regression. I understand how complex it is to test DCS World in all its interactions but I wonder how this got through the cracks. --- Reiterating previous post:
  17. 1.0nm seems tight. Try 1.2nm up to 1.4nm if the plane is heavier. Also, the C in BRC is Course (ground track). Even landing on land, a pilot of any airplane needs to compensate for wind to maintain a somewhat rectangular standard traffic pattern.

  19. I was convinced ASW ON was the preferred setting - and maybe this was right with my 1070 - but with a 1080Ti it seems ASW off (with or without 45FPS limiter) is better. Anyhow, with the Oculus shortcut keys, it's easy to flip through the modes and determine the optimal setting. +1000! I didn't know (forgot) this and was forced to remove the headset (which caused some type of short-lived reset) or Alt-Tab and fiddle with the ASW setting. Hotkey reference: https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/50711/what-are-the-keys-for-asw)
  20. +1, as described by Cody, above.
  21. What doesn't work? Rudder or nose wheel steering?
  22. This: RCRTL+RSHIFT and Num4 to move view left RCRTL+RSHIFT and Num6 to move view right Before doing that, I sit square in my seat and look far in front, and hit Num5. "Allow user snap views" is required in the config.
  23. Also, the hydraulic switch w/ red cover, far-aft-right console. It's almost impossible to operate the switch without hitting the cover. In VR, one needs to be a contortionist to put the thing on the thing. I don't wish to use a Snap View. A key binding would fix that... :)
  24. Yes, Mirrors: OFF Terrain Object Shadows: Flat MSAA: x2 Water: Medium Terrain Textures: Medium --- I suspect the Tomcat to be very high-poly, with huge textures. That said, it's another great DCS module.
