  1. Success and failure of tactics will be on both the sides, the Tomcat drivers and their adversaries. The first 6 months will be exciting as people hone skills and try new techniques and strategies. I'll wring ever last bit of performance and strategy out of the Tomcat, and I know I won't be alone.
  2. I can already feel that satisfying wump sound when the wheels hit the deck. Will the elevators be functional, and to what extent?
  3. Thanks for sharing that information with us HB. We are all eager to master this bird. You've built an earned trust in the quality of your work. It's going to be awesome to fly the F-14.
  4. The F-15E has the capability avionics wise to carry the HARM however as stated by others only F-16s perform SEAD in the Air Force. While capable, the accessory equipment needed to use the HARM on the F-15E has not and will not be maintained by any E-model units.
  5. Fantastic! Love the work! Much more immersive this way.
  6. At Carrier Strike Group One the VF-2 Bounty Hunters will have crews. It's going to be great to see other Tomcat units up in the sky for either coop or competition.
  7. Don't over think it. If its bombed it's bombed. What do you do if a player is bombed while starting up? Same thing.
  8. I'm all for it. It would allow for airfields and carriers to feel more alive, and not so empty. Added bonus would be that AI aircraft would not take spawn parking locations when they shut down.
  9. Same issue here. Perhaps the servers will be back up soon?
  10. Right.....confirmation?

    ICS

Probably will work just like it does in the Gazelle.
  12. Poor Gazelle, so many overlook it. It's multi-crew is lost in the shadow of the legend.
  13. +100
  14. Heatblur is doing it right.
  15. Great update. Fantastic read. It's going to be that old school classic fun.
  16. Those guys are nice chaps, but not the only wing in town :smilewink:
  17. It is what you are seeing. The scratches show differently in different light conditions. It's not dirt on the canopy but moisture and pollen. DCS models the scratches effectively in the sunlight. They aren't perfect unless they are new, and they have simm'd this aspect well enough. There is the case that there can be newer canopies, but what we have in game is still within the used canopy condition. Point I was making in the pic was look at the pattern of the scratches. Look familiar?
  18. The scratches are not excessive.
  19. If multicrew doesn't work they wont ship it. I'm not HB, but at this stage, that's the level they will play at.
  20. I think a lot of people would have similar opinions. In the end, you still would have purchased them, regardless of their release order. This is why my opinion that a lack of spacing between modules constitutes a lack of sales. If the F-14 and F-18 released in the same week, people who were going to buy both, will still buy both, just not at the same time, or maybe at the same time for the truly addicted, lol.
  21. I used to think that way, but I've changed my opinion on it. For some of the lessor profile modules this is certainly true. For the high profile F-14 I doubt it. Not to mention its not a limited sale, and the decline in sales can be attributed in part to the decline of advertising. The module isn't re-sold to customers. It just sits there. Marketing stops at release day, and perhaps that's the rub. Will there be a portion of money that is split should both aircraft release at the same time? Surely. Would that affect if someone buys a particular aircraft at all? Would a potential customer only purchase the aircraft day one, and that's it, they never buy the other aircraft the following month, or next two months?
  22. The real question is, does he know where the bear @$!&'s in the woods?
  23. There is no way anyone can answer that with anymore than a guess. We all expect to see the Tomcat this year and most expect this summer, maybe 3-4 months after the Hornet. If it was sooner then all the more awesome. Don't want to get on the hype for hype's sake though. Lets just wait till they show us something.

    F-15E?

The Strike Eagle is more complicated than the F-14 when it comes to cockpit coordination. It's also more complicated than the avionics that are in the F-18. Seeing as how the Harrier isn't more complete, that's not a complaint just an objective look, it would take a large amount of time to model and two aircraft could have been released in the wake of that dev time. That said, if they obtain permission to model it at all. The Air Force holds the E-model closer to its chest than the A-10 or the Navy would the F-18C. However tough any module has been, the E-model would be tougher.
