You can also communicate with your groundcrew via shouting. In this case the door must be open. Then no VHF1 is needed.

Campaign storyline evolution - linking 1 mission to another
zdXu replied to chromium's topic in User Created Missions General
You mean is there a tool to show me the exact position of all (dead or alive) assets/units/fighters after the mission then the answer is yes. (1) If you have installed tacview the "tool" is a file and can be found at ...\Ka-50\temp\TACVIEW-yyyymmdd-hhmmss.txt.acmi where yyyymmdd-hhmmss are the missionendtime of your played mission. FileType=text/acmi/tacview ... MissionTime=2009-08-19T22:30:00Z LatitudeOffset=41 LongitudeOffset=36 ... +7900,?,2c,1,xi,,Unit #99,INS RPG,? 7900,2.459063,5.756590,1357.55,-0.8,0.1,179.8 ... #12.36 ... !20,7900 ... (Example from http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=836255#post836255 = deployment04-mission) Assetcreation (line start with +): xi=insurgent, unitid 99 (see mission-file in .miz), insurgent with RPG,unitnumber = 7900. Position was 43.756590/41.756590 (latitude+latitudeoffset/Longitude + longitudeoffset) at creationtime. Creationtime was not declared because creationtime was at missionbegin. Missionbegin was 22:30 zulutime (means 00:30 am at black-sea-location). #12.36 means 12.36 second after missionstart. !20 means death, 7900 is the unitnumber. Because there is no movement found of the unit 7900 in the tacview-file, unit 7900 died at 00:30:12.36 at location 43.756590/41.756590. (2) Another "tool" is lua-scripting (export.lua-file). -
Me, playing the first time Artilery hunt.miz My plan was - to fly as quick as possible to the enemy-territory to see where enemy-fire starts from when at 09:35 the SEAD-strike will start. - to strike primary target 1 from sea because we expected no sea-threat and we have no clue what is realy going on in enemy-area. Briefing gives some exact enemypositions but 1.) we dont know if these a fixed enemies or moving enemies and 2.) briefing is also vague: area is "full of enemies". - we expect at least man-pads, tanks, shilkas and strela-10-m3s. - to strike primary target 2 from a stand-off position (from the moutains north-west of Tkvarcheli). - to avoid all urban places/house gatherings where enemies can hide easily etc. - we plan to use "overwatch" to precheck every route we fly because we know only vague what is friendly territory and what is not. I used this tool http://www.mediafire.com/?w2hnnylmv2m to prepare the mission: - i implemented a pseudo-communication with FAC/AWAC in the mission, to know which are the actual positions of our own assets. Result: F10-view shows all your own assets during the flight. - i also changed the flight-plan with the MEditor option "Prepare Flight". The tool can automatical hide every asset in the MEditor and so you can't cheat on the mission when you open the MEditor. fligtplan 1 flightplan 2 Spoiler: see what realy happened => http://rapidshare.com/files/359014948/ArtilleryHunt_01.trk.html (16 MB, best downloadtime on workdays 23:00-11:00 GMT; track needs the HMS/Shkval reticle shift correction http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=759822#post759822)

long flight, over the mountains or around?
zdXu replied to My Fing ID's topic in User Created Missions General
- Max range with 4 fueltanks is 1100km at 180 km/h. - Official cruising speed is 255 Km/h. With full load (2 external fueltanks + load at outer pylons) i prefer a cruising speed less than 250km/h. But 250 is absolut doable. At 270km/h ( with 2 external tanks + payload at outer pylons.) there will be the overspeed-warning. - To climb with 2 external fueltanks + load at outer pylons over 2000m moutains is critical. It depends on the temperature, on the speed though. But you can of course jettison the fuel-tanks if the climb-rate will be to low. The max climb-altitude of the KA-50 with no load is 5500 m, so 2000 m is not a problem. -I think a real heli-pilot would take the route around the moutains. Safety is everything at flying. But i could be wrong. -
To put it politely, this "trick"-mod is a step backwards IMO. I go along here with the moderators.
-
yes of course. Check your barometer-switch beside the 4 blue auto-hover-switches. That makes the difference.
-
My guess: Probably you have installed mods. And some/many mods produce broken tracks. Or you have made mod-changes during recording and watching. Or something else. The track-creation is not THAT stable as you may suppose.

If you have SPmission and without wingmans you can check out yourself without cheating wether a mission tries to bring your heli down with "dirty" tricks or not ... (1.) open the mission-file with any texteditor. (2.) count the places of a_activate_group. There are editorfunctions to count the presence of words. If there is more than 0 finding go to step 3 otherwise this mission is ok (3.) Search for => skill = "player Notice your unitId. CLSID = {3457BB1E-523F-4C24-BBEA-58D028623F05}, unitId = 694, lat = 0.737234, skill = Player(4.) go to the filetop and search for => trigrules = (5.) search from this position downwards for => a_activate_group Check if there is something in combination with "c_unit_in_zone" AND "unitId = 694" AND a_activate_group. If you found something notice the groupid and zoneid and go to step 6. Otherwise the mission is ok. [1] = { predicate = triggerOnce, rules = { [1] = { unit = 694, predicate = c_unit_in_zone, zone = 1, }, -- end of [1] }, -- end of rules actions = { [1] = { group = 229, text = predicate = a_activate_group, seconds = 10, }, -- end of [1] }, -- end of actions comment = Su Kuz, }, -- end of [1] (6.)Go to the filetop and search for => zoneid = 1, If the zoneradius is less than 12000 than go to step 7 otherwise the mission is ok. radius = 2500, zoneId = 1, color = { (7.)Go to the top of the file and search for => coalition = (8.) Search from this position downwards for => red = (9.) If you are on russian-side search downwards for => GroupId = 229, If you are on NATO-side search upwards for => GroupId = 229, If the search has NO result/findings then the groupid = 229 is an enemy. Then the groupactivation of the groupid 229 could be problematic otherwise the mission is ok. Examples out of "Secret mission" (Georgian Havoc) These steps could be easily done with a simple small program. If so then you will realy not see any mission-detail before flying the mission.

2 friendly SA-6-missiles looses control and turns to my position. I am certain that the proximity-fuse of the SA-6-missiles were activated because of "my" friendly KA-50(where i was sitting in). But i am not certain that the flight-route of the missiles was intended to come exactly to my position. Green circle is my position (not always shown up in all pictures) Black circle is the target of the missiles (i think it was a F18 6 or more km away) Red circles are the 2 russian SA-6 missiles And note: i was hovering at 10 altitude with a speed of 10 km. I was definitely not flying into the flight-route of these missiles. Missile-start Missile starting, another point of view The "w"-thing is the nose of the missile Missile is still on course Missile approaches to my position Missile near me, distance to me is here i think ca. 200 meter Distance to the exploding warhead of the 1. missile was here i think ca. 50 - 60 meter. Warhead-weight: 59 kg, that's a lot...

Vergeev Mission 11: http://rapidshare.com/files/350237951/Vergeev_11.trk.html (5 MB, max 10 downloads, best downloadtime: 23:15pm - 11:00am GMT) Track compatible with DCS BS 1.0.1 ......................................................................................................... Deployment_04 mission, the very first playing, nightmission, 1st person only, compatible with DCS BS 1.0.1: Actual the plan after reading the briefing was the following: (1) no lights during escape (2) get out of the combat-zone (here FARP) as soon as possible. So a manual alarm-start in 1:30 minutes (only basic switches) instead of an automatic alarm-start in 3:15 minutes + basic counter measurement setting (both sides active) + closed door. (3) we expected enemies in the woods around the FARP (in one location or in many locations ) and at the mountainsides along the river. We expected no enemies in open areas. The most fear was the expected RPGs from mountain-sides. So the planed escape-route has to stand off from mountain-sides and has to stand off from woods. => See what realy happened => http://rapidshare.com/files/351048167/Deployment_04a.rar.html (8MB, max 10 downloads, best download-time between 23:15 - 11:00 GMT)

Please have also a look at this in mission 11: "Execute a thorough search all the way from Adler to Esto-Sadok". (quotation from the briefing) My understanding was i have to start the search from Adler ...(route see pic). But after some seconds i got the radio-message (from naval) "please land ..." etc.). -

Would be interesting to see your mission-track or your mission-approach. -
This general statement is wrong. - at automatic take-off (win+home) there is at game-default the "hold altitude"-auto-pilot OFF. - during landing there is nothing "wrong" with turning auto-pilot "hold altitude" also off.

Sorry, can't do that. Yesterday after an deadly accident in the 3. mission (see post #14 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=44561&page=2 ) i had to replay my 3 deployment-missions. I accidently overwrote the old deployment-missions with the new ones. So no track of the very first playing. Once the mission has worn off and you know the mission-scenario then the track becomes uninteresting and has not any more the chaos-moments of the first play. But see for yourself ... http://rapidshare.com/files/349230172/Deployment_02a1.trk.html (10 downloads maximum, best downloadtime from 00:15am to 12:00am GMT) -
Wrong guess. It has to do with your own survive.
-
1.) Turn autopilot "heading" off. Turn to the choosen direction manual with pedals. Turn autopilot "heading" on. 2.) If 1. not work adjust your rudder or your trim properly to the direction you want.

making slow progress.... plz comment on track

Which mission is it? -
Idiot wingman part #3: My advice to everyone: if you want to survive and play safe never ever give wingmans any order when they are in tailformation. Give a wingman in tailformation an order could work well 50 times. But there is a 51th time. My story begins with: Once upon a time there was a player in an hover with 1 wingman in wide tailformation behind him ... The end should be not a great mystery.

Spoilers... That the convoy passes the critical area with the highest speed (very easy to implement with the ME) is the very least one could have expected from a realistic mission and not to mention for a also doable and logical solution like this one: - the convoy stops when the shooting begin (convoy is deactived and is replaced with a static convoy at the same place) - Convoy starts to move and finishes his route when the route is clear (static convoy is deactived and replaced by a moving convoy when all enemys are dead). Edt: This evening i will add my very first playing of this mission (track & tacview file). I am actual not at my BS-computer. EditEdit: I use HMS/Shkval reticle-fix by Duke49th (http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=759825&postcount=34). So my tracks are not compatible with vanilla 1.0.1c. -

I am not against engine/system-failures during a flight. But a failure must come out of a sudden. If you mention a failure in the briefing i expect more technical infos about that failure in the briefing. And if i got no specific technical info i would do an extrem detailed check-list-procedure during the start-up that takes ages.
