  1. adjust your curve settings for axis.
  2. I think you must know your corner speed, stall, and some very basic maneuvers to fight with the F-5. You must also know there is heavy reliance on trimming. You constantly trim. Trim! Trim! If you can get into a WVR, push stick to keep your speed. With practice it comes. Believe me, I cant say how many times I thought shes slow but in reality the Mig-21 is beatable in the F-5. Use altitude in a turn fight to gain some speed at the bottleneck. In the vertical theyre sooo easy. I usually beam them if carrying missiles. They shoot and R-3 is crappy usually. I once got one shooting directly above me where the R-3 pulled 20 Gs to catch me but hit the dirt. It was very close to correct. Jink and try to dodge him but be wary of ground. Use your head on a swivel and forget about RWR. It might be good practice to play with non RWR opponents just to train for this purpose. Lastly, practice practice practice and dont lose hope. It comes all of a sudden and its very rewarding that you get affixed on it.
  3. you would hear engaging SAM or defending SAM, or bandit at bulls ... these you can input to TAD to steer clear or pickup the pieces if they fail. That is actionable. If you dont want to listen you can Rshift Backspace to cycle radio reception to own communications. This prevents the slurry of all allied calls even when checked in options.
  4. You must spool engine to 100% without afterburners. engage afterburners, special modes, release all brakes. At the lip, retract landing gear and pull back to get no greater than minus 2 sink rate on hud. You will probably sink to 8 meters from waters but if done correctly your loss will turn to gain of lift. Not too hard on stick though or youd stall.
  5. I’d be scared with guns.. from a headon.. like it should. All hits incurred were head on passes with gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thing is you meed a long carpet with these fast movers. RBKs are very short print. KMGUs stretch wide and far most importantly.
  7. link for campaign?
  8. well I did finish it afterall. had 3 KMGUs, 4 rocket pods of KOM variety, and the gun. the best one is KMGU, if you can anticipate the lead, they pretty much enter the mini carpet and never leave it. best attack is headon with this method. Even my right engine lost some power due to damage, but landed back on the boat no less.
  9. here is the thing, he cant kill all of them and even misses with cannon. I tried repeatedly but always get my engines damaged or so shot up I plop. I might assign a trigger though.
  10. I wouldnt say so. You need to add these systems, model them, test them, tweak them. Both inside cockpit and outside the external model. Its indeed a tedious task to begin with. The other side to that coin would be hornet and flanker-Ds. Both are multirole but not ground dedicated pounders. Another aspect would be refueling by air to air and increased fuel consumption. Its just not fitting a carrier based wing.
  11. TAD freqs are listed in each TAC mission briefing (the ones in typewriter) TAD means Tactical Air Designators. In the docs folder you would find them with corresponding freqs like 124.0 AM for TTF (Tactical Training Freq.) - monitor at all times.. IPs, Ingress, Range entry and exits, bullseye, No Employment zones (civil areas), TFRs, etc are listed in MGRS with coordinates too. I program them if not found within CDU database. I have different flight plans, one for TFR, one for mission, Targets, IP, ingress, bullseye, range entry and exits. That way I can stay within the zone and not get my ears blown off by KNOCK OFF! It also helps to use MFCD TAD in uncoupled mode (TAD as soi and two times red rocker forward to get true map view, overlaying flight plan, no bird with 2.5-5 mile circles mode). Remember its a checkride of Tactical awareness.
  12. Any idea on how to complete it? Sea Dragon campaign. I tried rockets with limited success, RBKs, then KMGUs. I still cant nail the bastards. Would the escorts engage remnants?
  13. well I just dont get how a gpu connects to supposedly a fake security.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. or will it continue only to 2.5?
  15. I think it means you are landing in tandem within close proximity. Saddled I think means on the glidepath. EDIT: Sabre, thanks again!
  16. Confirmed. It is indeed 124.0 VHF AM. Working now, thanks.
  17. what is the tanker speed? if you both are fast you need to lower the speed to 210 knots as any trim at high speeds is imprecise compared to low speed. Yes you fly formation but are you to the sides? I usually place the three windows on my canopy bow above the mirror. When contact is made, I keep peripheral vision on the boom colors. If its yellow and moving onto red I nudge throttles back. If yellow going green I nudge throttles forward. Also helps to trim nose down and hold the stick back for zero pitch. Works wonders with speed changes the one or less knot needed or not. finally, keep practicing. Its very difficult but very rewarding.
  18. Enjoy!
  19. Still, it was a good placebo for us Hornet sniffers... Especially VRS Superbug... I long quit flying FSX. I really hope this hornet will be the ultimate short of flying the real thing edition. The god of Hornet simulation.
