  1. top number is distance in miles and bottom number is time it takes in minutes to complete that leg based on average speed reported in the latin E (summary) tab in the unit properties in the planner.
  2. you need three things: 1- practice 2- practice some more 3- practice even some more. my only advice is to use both legs against eachother. dance on the rudder.
  3. look at this... if we can produce half that agility....
  4. Well after finally getting my first arduino I just programmed a rotary encoder and tested it in the serial monitor and it worked. I want to use it as a controller in windows and in dcs to detect each impulse for a trim knob in say P-51 or spitfire. What is the best way to do it? consider me a complete nugget in this field.
  5. oh god this is a cute headache! yeah where is that rep button?
  6. If you want to fly and shoot only without complications fly the free Su-25T included with the installer. I highly recommend the Su-33 if you are up to carrier operations and its a step towards familiarising yourself with the hornet. If you want basic airmanship under a manual guise, then L-39 is your purchase, also applies to aerobatics if interested. Lastly, if you want pure airmanship, a trainer, and sightseeing with possibly navigation exercises, its better to await the Yak-52.
  7. get ikarus and avoid looking everywhere.
  8. I'd like to be able to move my real head into the instruments and not be caught stopped by the FoV. Is there a way to do it? Atm I have to use the zoom to properly read off instruments. ver 1.5.8 last
  9. thank you guys its much clearer now
  10. Its supposed to be released this year. I am looking forward to it as I pledged via paypal.
  11. As above. There is very little info on these. Do they benefit during combat? I would like some technical perspective. Thanks.
  12. I think it is to check the control surfaces for freedom for if there is a malfunctioning surface or a jammed one the color shirts can spot them before pressing the button to jump it off the deck. Its a safety measure. You dont want to be hurled in two seconds into the drink with a jammed aileron or a rudder do you?
  13. we desperately need this in DCS. Note how the airspeed indicator jumped to the bug ;)
  14. In cold and dark mission two gazelles and a kentucky 130 are just taking off in front of me and passing by. I check mission planner for kc-130 freq and its comm2 / 18 or 251. I check its role to be tanker. Do I need to set a freq like jtac? is it not the flight frequency? in the same mission I load a gau-12 gun pod and it shows up but when stable on a dive and firing, the tracers are under my ladder not the gun pipper. Help?
  15. its funny you would say this as I heard ED will do one last update to 1.5.8 incorporating some but not all fixes for the harrier and other modules. I'm just one of the people who cant run 2.5 for hardware reasons. Still, it would be nice, in the mean time to enjoy an as advertised module. I guess there is no escape. Perhaps in two years time I could revisit, with fresh, discounted GPUs and other things.
  16. No it doesnt. In 1.5.8?
  17. You cant score direct hits with ccip. Dumb bombs I mean.
  18. autopilot not working. NRAS and pitch carets not settable. UFC function buttons and digikeys not working. Backwards hovering, map not yet implemented and INS. Pulling 6 Gs does not cause blackout. Stores page half implemented but weapons panel not settable for MRS or DRC,etc... Its good buy if you can get it in a discounted sale.
  19. You shouldnt rely on sensors during tracking phase.
  20. Let your wings fly dear Gospadin and sure enough we miss you already. I agree with Norm that we always focus on the bad things. God why does it have to be good people that go. My heartfelt condolences to his family. 43 years is indeed too young. ???????????????? So did Jim Mackonochie.
  21. who cares about parasites... carry on man good work! cant wait!
  22. adjust your curve settings for axis.
  23. I think you must know your corner speed, stall, and some very basic maneuvers to fight with the F-5. You must also know there is heavy reliance on trimming. You constantly trim. Trim! Trim! If you can get into a WVR, push stick to keep your speed. With practice it comes. Believe me, I cant say how many times I thought shes slow but in reality the Mig-21 is beatable in the F-5. Use altitude in a turn fight to gain some speed at the bottleneck. In the vertical theyre sooo easy. I usually beam them if carrying missiles. They shoot and R-3 is crappy usually. I once got one shooting directly above me where the R-3 pulled 20 Gs to catch me but hit the dirt. It was very close to correct. Jink and try to dodge him but be wary of ground. Use your head on a swivel and forget about RWR. It might be good practice to play with non RWR opponents just to train for this purpose. Lastly, practice practice practice and dont lose hope. It comes all of a sudden and its very rewarding that you get affixed on it.
