Tell me you know that, since last hotfix, OpenXR doesnt work unless you force it, right? OpenXR support was neccesary, Oculus API support is deprecated, it will happen to OpenVR too, so better to be future proof now, if Pico has problems with OpenXR on PCVR side then its her duty to fix it, not of the game developer. Pico PCVR link poor performance and OpenXR issues was why i returned mine

Are you sure? The one that is native in SteamVR is OpenVR, OpenComposite is a wrapper that lets you run OpenXR on games with OpenVR support (and no OpenXR support, of course)

its like a brightness knob controlled by my head

This. From outside colors looks ok but from inside the cockpit it’s al way overexposes that is weird, that effect should be an option -
Thats what OpenXR is for, a common API for all headsets, no more some headsets with OpenVR (the used for SteamVR), some with Oculus one, the less with WMR, just one API for all, simplying the work for the developers. Its a big change but it had to come some day and i think, for a first OpenXR iteration for DCS, its work well apart from the reprojection bug (that maybe will be fix today with the hotfix), i dont take in account third party software as thats not ED fault

I don’t know what are you talking but for those options and much more you can use OpenXR Toolkit, it has no problem working with last update
-
I think many of you guys are a bit nervous. For those who were using OpenComposite prior to yesterday update: Step 1. depending on your install method: System wide installation: you can delete or keep the OpenComposite folder, it would make no difference after you do the next step Per game installation: If you were using per game one you should restore openvr_api.dll file, if you dont have a backup you can run a DCS repair Step 2. Depending of your headset SteamVR headsets: go to SteamVR options and make SteamVR the default OpenXR runtime Oculus headsets: For Oculus users, go to your PC software options and make Oculus the default OpenXR runtime Done, you dont need no more, OpenXR Toolkit is just an ADDON to add some features and tweak some settings for OpenXR, its not needed but you can still use it For any specfic problem with a headset there are dedicated topics here and i think its a better place to ask than a general topic

Has the Open Beta Just Switched to OpenComposite?

As far as the settings you want to tweak is the ones provided by OpenXR Toolkit, yes

OpenXR Toolkit with new DCS release? Not working
5ephir0th replied to KCOOL's topic in Virtual Reality
Are you sure OpenXR Toolkit is enabled? It should work, the "ctrl+f2" menu when booting DCS only has to show at first start, on next ones you should make it appear pushing ctrl+f2 Apart from that, i think if anyone has to provide instructions to how to use OpenXR tools is the developer of that software, who isnt ED -
Has the Open Beta Just Switched to OpenComposite?
5ephir0th replied to Hempstead's topic in Virtual Reality
Quest 2 here and it crash with OpenXR Toolkit enabled, so the problem its not only motion reproyection for WMR devices but it hasnt to be a DCS problem but OpenXR Toolkit having to change something -
You dont even need to have installed Steam or SteamVR for that
-
For Quest 2 to work with OpenXR you have to launch DCS on SteamVR mode, just add --force_steam_VR at the end of the target of the DCS shorcut and make shure Oculus is the default enviroment for OpenXR (you can check on Oculus app > Settings > General

Check your temp, maybe you are suffering thermal throttling AND look at your VRAM usage, maybe you are running out

Im just asking in which way do you install an AIO without placing the lines or pump on top, as the only way i think is placing the radiator on front with the lines exhaust at the bottom, but that config dont work on the most of cases as lines are too short and you have the cons of getting hot air inside the case
-
I woult love to know how do you install an AIO without letting the lines or pump on top, if you install the radiator at the botton, your pump and lines are on thop, on the front with the exit of the lines on top, same problem, on top the lines are above the pump, the only one i think is the radiator on front and the exit of the lines at the bottom but the problem is you are getting hot air into the case and on most of the cases the lines are too short to that kind of installation. Im asking without any kind of irony, seriously.
-
Why not just rotate the radiator so the hoses from it comes out at the back of the case and not at the front?

My experience with Quest 2 vs Reverb G2 v2
5ephir0th replied to av8orDave's topic in Virtual Reality
Just some points: No, it doesn´t since last august Better to use a 20W USB-C connection from your motherboard, it can charge while playing This should apply to all VR headset, its not a Quest or Reverb problem but for DCS and if not there should be some problem The setup for Quest to use OpenXR its just download and unzip OpenComposite from github and start DCS on SteamVR mode, thats all -
At 1080p with a 3080 you are CPU limited not only on DCS but almost on every other game, 3080 its way overkill for that "low" resolution and you will see similar GPU usage on other games, with that PC you should start looking for at monitor with WHQD or above resolution. Out of that, its imposible that DCS uses 100% of your CPU, on one core? Sure, but when hardware monitor tells you 100% CPU usage it means all cores at 100% usage, if you really are seeing 100% CPU usage its not because DCS, you have something wrong on your PC

The first thing you should do is check the Memory Support List on the manufaturer page and see if your memory sticks have been verified with this motherboard, if it doesnt appears it doesnt mean that your RAM its not compatible but it would be good to check it. Next, update to the last bios Then, on the bios, as 79Au pointed, DDR5 XMP Booster disabled, Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) to XMP1, System Memory Multiplier to Auto, save and reboot, it should take a bit to start on the first boot but its normal, its the memory training of DDR5. This is DDR5, you are mixing voltages with DDR4 and are quite different, my DDR5-6000 uses 1.35 on his XMP and its pretty regular, you can see sticks with 1.45 and above

I saw the video on the quick side, they talk about what PCVR connection will have? They say wireless and wired, the wired one loseless but doesnt tell what type

Guys, relax about DLSS, actual DLSS last version is 2.5.1 and is the same for DLSS 2 and 3, DLSS 3 just adds the Frame Generation, i doubt ED would integrate DLSS 2.0 as its been more than two years since its not supported, they probably launch with the last iterantion from nVidia (and, even if not, you can update it manually getting the updated DLL)
