104th Phoenix - Operation Longbow - Dynamic PvP Mission
HiJack replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
Yes, it was more that there was no defence at that FARP, not even a AAA. The only FARP without any form of defence. But it is fine. Making missions behind blue lines is reliant on no working GCI. -
SAR High Res imaging Quality on the An/APg73 Phase 2 Radar
HiJack replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
At what distance will the targeting switch from the radar to the targeting pod on the F/A-18C? Or is the radar used as a means of oversight and all targeting done with the pod? The A-10C just uses pod but they may have more accurate targeting information up front. -
This comes because of the team success when 4 and 5th gen fly together. Good use of existing airframes. The danger is that development or even production of new 5th gen stops like it did for the Raptor.

FARP Zemo is completely unprotected, and the only FARP as souch. Can you please add some AAA and short range SAM's to protect just the FARP area please. :) -

We can't even secure our own site as there is no way you can unpack crates on the FARP area. Either the same rules goes for enemy or we will have a war at these unprotected sites on both sides. EDIT: It seems only the FARP Zemo is unprotected. -
104th Phoenix - Operation Longbow - Dynamic PvP Mission
HiJack replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
Well, the only way anyone is going to go up there and place enemy units is because the spawn area is completely unsecured by the friendly sides units. Because these were supposed to be uncatchable so everyone had some chance to spawn in and go for capturing the bases that is set up for capturing. Now I don't mind if this is not haw this game should be played. If the 104th come and say yes you can place units and attack the bases that is supposed to not be captured then we I will change my tactics. Your call.... -
104th Phoenix - Operation Longbow - Dynamic PvP Mission

Some bandit have placed blue units and a MANPAD up at FARP Zemo that kills the helos before they have chance to rearm. Tried to kill with GUN but well hidden in buildings and trees. He should be on the current track, ban the player please. EDIT: And just restart the mission also. EDIT2: He is not a "sucker" but a genius who discovered the unprotected base by looking at the mission and making a plan on how to get up to the FARP without being spotted. He also managed to place at lest two units so either the job was done twice or he had help. -
Great job on these videos. The terrain IS much better and the hills and snow are great but. Trees trees trees and no roads, tracks or pathways through the woods. And also a huge loss of small towns and over 50% loss of building mass in what is left of towns. We will see how this works for mission building but I think I will miss having the dirt roads and tracks to run vehicles through. Lighting definitely needs more work.

But all this was expected. ;)

Many problems playing Ka-50 campaigns also.

Scale of Speedtrees in 2.5
HiJack replied to Bananimal's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Yes huge improvements I agree, I just thought that there were to many huge tree areas with not even a track for livestock through the woods. Or even a dirt road, no, nothing, just dense forest. :( OK the vehicles drives straight through the trees but I would much more prefer the units to follow a dirt road/track through the woods. I know the tracks are there in Georgia :) -
Scale of Speedtrees in 2.5
HiJack replied to Bananimal's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
For me the problem is not the heights of the trees but there is just to much of them! Huge areas that before was small wally pockets with a town and some scattered trees is now completely forest and impossible to use as a mission area. There is quite large areas of the map that have been "forested" that was good areas to have ground units before but not anymore. I sure hope ED changes this back to towns, roads, open areas and bring back the possibility to have missions without all units 20 trees apart. -
1.5.8 to 2.5 update today?
HiJack replied to mr_mojo97's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Rename the "DCS.openBeta" folder in Saved Games to "DCS.openBeta.fail" and try again. -
If ever FC4 I voted for all aircrafts in the list :D There is no hope to get this aircrafts with clickable cockpit but I wish ED would complete the radios in all aircrafts and develop internally radio software that goes with all the radios. Maybe even get an agreement with Ciribob and his eminent radio software.

1.5.8 to 2.5 update today?
HiJack replied to mr_mojo97's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Not lightly, last time we struggled with a memory leak (when 1.2 was released) it took several weeks if not months if I remember correctly. -
Best way to transition from Cruise to Hover?
HiJack replied to Fakum's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Many good tips here! I use default trimmer mode and just hold the trim button in while i'm changing direction. When I have set a new direction I just let go of the trim. Never try to land in the same direction as the wind blows, you will get in a wortex easy that way. Always try to land straight towards the wind direction. Chimneys is a good wind direction indicator, make note of them while you fly. -

104th Phoenix - Operation Longbow - Dynamic PvP Mission
HiJack replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
I produced two EWR sites yesterday and the message confirms unpacking of EWR crates but no EWR ever showed up. There should show up a EWR of some type? Right? Transporting and placing troops is no problem and they show up. -
For DCS World 2.5 If you like me struggle with the dark blue chat color on Blue side; this is something to try out. The mod does not affect Integrity check at this point but this may change, all in ED’s hands. The mod only affects your local client blue side chat text color. Installation: Download the .zip file. Extract the file in your download folder or on your desktop. Change to the folder “LightBlueChatClolor_v1”. If using JSGME, copy that folder into your JSGME mods folder that updates the main program folder of DCS World 2.5 and enable it. If not using JSGE, copy the contents of that folder into your DCS World 2.5 main program folder. DIY: (Use NOTEPAD++) In case you have .lua knowledge and want to do this yourself you can change the color by editing line 564 in the file “.\MissionEditor\modules\dialogs\mul_chat.dlg” and change the variable to the color you like. DCS adds one segment (“ff”) to the HEX color number, color “#00bbff” must be written in the form “0x00bbffff”. This will set a Light Blue color on your blue side chat text. Use on your own risk. MOD File: LightBlueChatClolor_v1.zip PS! You will not see this change before someone chats when you play on Multiplayer. It only changes text chat you receive from friendly forces.
