  1. Yes totally agree. You can even create a fictional war that have occurred on your fictional map.
  2. You should be aware that removing 2.2 will trigger a new download of the Nevada map of about 50GB. If you keep 2.2 the installation will use the 2.2 folders as source. :music_whistling:
  3. Fictional maps sounds good and gives freedom to the designers but I agree with others here that argues for real scenes. There are more realism to get if there have been fighting already documented from the designed area.
  4. That is good news Grimes.
  5. Great to see this happening. The obvious thing to do before updating is to make a file copy backup of all you have in Saved Games.
  6. Join a squadron and get proper training. http://www.taw.net
  7. Not much work on SLMOD right now I believe. Waiting for 2.5 to see what that changes ;)

    Wednesday Updates

The reason for going to updates on Wednesdays is that then you don't destroy the weekend for any planned squadron or other competitions. And of course also make the developers have a better weekend. But alfa and beta updates should not make any problems and should be distributed any day of the week. Just my thought... EDIT: So the release version should always be distributed in mid week. :)
  9. ppl will post without reading the first post always. A long time ago I suggested to instead create a Squadron directory and let every squadron have their own thread. I thought that would be a good idea but nothing happened so maybe not. Would be better organized that way I believe. Something like what the 3rd parties have. :)
  10. Regarding multi platform OS, the last couple of DCS patches have included the QT programming tools. QT is a framework for multi OS. :music_whistling:
  11. Make sure you announce the squadron here on ED and i’m pretty sure no one will start it again. Generally people are polite here
  12. You can’t prevent anyone from starting a new group with the same name. To ensure you are the only one using the name you need to register it as a leagal registered name. I think you will have problems with that as these names are already used by the military.
  13. I have not tested lag, I’m referring to the fix: Not fixed. :noexpression:
  14. Server/Player info is still bugged.
  15. Yes, you can even do that trick manually
  16. There will be two versions of 2.5 when it is released. One regular version and one beta version being patched for testing as it is today. To save disk space both versions could use the same terrain file locations but I’m sure they won’t. Settle for 200GB disk space to have both versions installed. :)
  17. I believe the current F15 is a bastard, hope someone can prove the block. I hope ED produces a full version of the F-15C block 86. First day buy. Anyway I would buy all models produced for DCS of the F15, I love this aircraft :joystick: :pilotfly: :)
  18. +1
  19. Look at The example in post #4 and you see you have to add zeros to the lat long position.
  20. I asked the same and got a positive feedback, the stream will be published. It’s New Year’s Eve!
  21. That is all wrong! it's a new graphics API renderer with a simpler, thinner driver, and efficient CPU multi-threading capabilities. Compared to DirectX or OpenGL, Vulkan has less latency and overhead, and can help your system reach new levels of performance. In simpler terms, Vulkan can help developers avoid CPU bottlenecks that limit performance, and can improve performance elsewhere, too. IT replaces both DirectX and OpenGL and will run smooth on AMD as well as nVidia cards.
  22. Can’t be there so I hope the live stream will be recorded for replay.
  23. Happy birthday :yay:
  24. Flight simulation for console is waste of time. This is not a game. Edit: Buy crimson skies, a game.
