  1. I think its just mad at you for painting the plane in US liveries.:D Seriously though, never seen that glitch, then again, when you fire i usually have hit the target and brake away. So i never really see the smoke trail in the Skvhal, not up close at least.
  2. Question, why don't you use youtube or vimeo? the streaming on this site is REALLY bad, and i get lots of hickups/stagnation in the playback of the video. Not to mention the fact that the play time indicator does not work, nor can you move back and forth. Ill try and do my best to sit trough the whole video though. Some constructive criticism; In the first video; You mention the AI don't see your Lights anyway. This is incorrect, if you fly whit the lights on AI will see and engage you sooner and earlier. So, i'd suggest to actually turn them off, it DOES make a difference. Waypoint switching; In the video you can't select waypoint 1. This is most likely because that waypoint is to close to your position and thus it switches automatically to WP2. Auto-Pilot tip, you mention that if the waypoints altitude is 0 the AP flies into the ground. Which is correct. Except, if you engage AP in route follow mode (A) and directly after hit Barometric Altitude Hold mode (Lalt 4) then the AP will follow the route on your current altitude. AP tip 2, Panic Button, if you hit (Lalt 3) the AP will return the plane to straight and level flight. Regardless of the planes attitude when engaging this mode. Ofcourse, there must still be enough altitude left for the AP to maneuver to prevent a crash. AP tip 3/ trim tip, If you **** up the trimming using the AP. And as you said this will happen. Here's a lil trick to sort things out again. Disengage AP. Move the stick so that roll angle and pitch angle are less then 5 Degrees. (note flight path may still be up/down or whatever) Hold plane steady and engage AP in Attitude Hold Mode (Lalt 1) Whit AP in Attitude Hold Mode, now SLOWLY move stick back to center. Disengage AP and resume level flight, once straight and level hit AP Attitude Hold mode once more, let it settle a bit, and disengage whit the stick centered. Your plane is now trimmed again. (seems complicated when readying, but its real easy to do.) AP tip 4, Maneuvering whit the AP on, is in general indeed a bad idea. Except for two modes. Barometric Altitude Hold and Radio Altitude Hold (terrain follow mode) In these two modes you can roll (bank) the aircraft left and right to change your heading. Don't do this to fast though or the AP can't keep up whit holding your altitude. How bingo fuel and other warnings are called? Usually either Bitching Betty or Nagging Nadia.:D (think the actual systems name is Ekhran or something similar) And yes, fuel is displayed in Kilo grams (Kg) in general 1000 kg is enough to RTB from most missions. (fly at 93% Nr is most of the time the most fuel efficient way, higher altitudes also burn less fuel, though you need burn fuel to get up there first. trial and error to accumulate experience is the only way) About the guided bomb (KAB-500 Kr) it is TV guided, not Laser. So its an fire and forget weapon. There no need to keep the target locked whit the SKhval once its released. (same is true for the KH-29T TV guided missile.) Rockets, the S-24 and S-25 can be used to take out hardened targets like Aircraft shelters, Bunkers etc etc. Though, where the S-24 is primarily designed to penetrate concrete, the S-25 features an blast fragmentation warhead which makes it more useful against infantry and soft targets. About the Kh-58U and the Kh-25MPU the numbers is a good indication of the maximum range at an altitude of about 5000 meters. (58km for the Kh-58 and 25km for the Kh-25MPU) Gunpods, those are quite usefull for strafing runs, this is because you can set the elevation of the barrels manually, allowing you to fly horizontal while the guns are shooting down at a column. You change the barrel elevation whit the same keys you use for the Skhval Target size designator i believe. And now its time for my Squad flight, hope the above is usefull to you and our others. ~S~
  3. One thing i haven't seen mentioned yet. DROP WEIGHT. IE, jettison stores, fire off all cannon ammo and drop your flares. Yes, even the weight of the flares make a difference in the sim. (know from personal experience) For the rest, good luck, there better not be any serious hills to negate. (how i find out about the flares??? take a guess)
  4. At least you know the important part already. "Putting Warheads to Foreheads!" Great going and on to countless hours more fun.:joystick:
  5. Given your on a Budget, buy an X52 or the X52Pro, the latter is a bit more accurate. But the normal one is just fine. Then go ahead and download DCS World for free from here. Then i would recommend flying the free SU-25T around for a bit, and explore the online community. After that, its your choice, either buy Track IR 4/5. Or buy an module of your choice. What TrackIR is? It allows you to move your ingame camera viewpoint by physically moving your head around. The following video explains it better; ***IMPORTNAT*** When downloading module for DCS world, make sure your downloading the right files and not the seperate module. Easy way to tell, if the file size is a couple of Gigabytes you got the wrong one. If its a couple hundred, you got the module that plugs in to DCS World. (just had a quick look, seems like all stand-alone downloads are now moved under the "previous versions" section of the downloads.) ***EDIT*** Forgot to mention, the SU-25T is free to fly ONLINE to. So go ahead, download DCS World (you will need that anyways) and have a look at the server list. (make an account on http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/auth.php?register=yes in order to log in to the online masterserver)
  6. Just sell them as Eagle Dynamics aircraft, without any other tag? So, for example, Eagle Dynamics SU-25A Frogfoot Eagle Dynamics SU-33 Flanker D etc etc etc, and once the high end DCS version comes out, well just add that in between.
  7. No, kill messages are annoying, but not a cheat. Cheats are means of gaining advantage over other persons in a game by doing stuff the game developer never intended to be possible. But yes i agree, get rid of the kill messages. And make the take-off and landing ones for your own side only. Would make things far more fun.
  8. SU-27SM :music_whistling:
  9. As long as your using game controls that where made available by the Developer i don't consider anything cheating. Cheating is when you start using ways not known or available to others to gain an (unfair) advantage over them. Realism on the other hand......... well that's a whole different story all together.
  10. I believe the 1x view of the Skhval got removed due to performance issues. (FPS HIT)
  11. The idea is nice, im afraid its just not possible due to limited processing power on such devices. As well, the entire code would need to be re-written for android and Ios, time better spend improving the ME we already have and fixing bugs. Ofcourse, that's just my opinion.
  12. Chazz, Could you check the following plz? (assuming W vista or 7) Go to start and in search type Reliability Then from the results launch the reliability monitor. In it look for the date that the crash occured, and select that date. Then in the bottom halve of the window you should see a number of events, including the crash. right click and select "view technical details" Should give you the error code similar to the ones Soviet and me posted. If it is exactly the same then it could be related, if the error code is different then its an unrelated issue.
  13. Our server crashed again whit the same error during our squad flight. Unfortunately i didn't have the change to install Tacview so no new data to process. Good news is though that Tacview is now running and recording on our server so its only a matter of time before we have something to look at. ~S~
  14. Good to know Maverick, anything we could do to help you guys nail down the problem?
  15. Quite interesting, our 159th Dedi server just had two crashes. (one yesterday and one today) And the "problem signature" in windows is exactly the same; Server/Servman logs in attachment as well as the .crash files Description Faulting application name: DCS.exe, version: 1.2.3.9871, time stamp: 0x512bd49f Faulting module name: Weapons.dll, version: 1.2.3.9871, time stamp: 0x512bcddc Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000000011549 Faulting process id: 0xa88 Faulting application start time: 0x01ce1638b5da7a61 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\Weapons.dll Report Id: 0b89e9b4-8363-11e2-824c-001f16fbb7c5 Source DCS Summary Stopped working Date ‎3/‎3/‎2013 7:55 AM Status Report sent Description Faulting Application Path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe Problem signature Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: DCS.exe Application Version: 1.2.3.9871 Application Timestamp: 512bd49f Fault Module Name: Weapons.dll Fault Module Version: 1.2.3.9871 Fault Module Timestamp: 512bcddc Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0000000000011549 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 7836 Additional Information 2: 7836ac7694aaa7c528e01a518c6972b9 Additional Information 3: fe18 Additional Information 4: fe18e59f2b9b9f89655dcbd4f9c72b84 Extra information about the problem Bucket ID: 97448757 159th server logs.zip
  16. See attachment Includes track of NEZ range calculation being reversed. And a screenshot of the HUD graphical glitch. This is now only apparent if you zoom out though. Making a track of the datalink issues could become problematic cause it could be multiplayer dependent. 1.2.3 NEZ range su33.rar
  17. Exactly, it does not say you should not be able to lock if wrong mode is selected. All it says that if a target is coming towards you, and you select HI PRF you will be able to detect the target at a greater range then when using interleaved or MED PRF. Subsequently if a target is heading away from you, and you select MED PRF you will be able to detect the target at a greater range then when using interleaved or HI PRF This does not mean though that you can't detect targets coming at you whit MED PRF, only that it won't work as good as HI PRF. Interleaved uses HI and MED PRF at the same time so its not so sensitive to target aspect, this comes whit a 25% reduction in max detection range though. As well, TWS mode is only availeble in HI and MED PRF and not in ILV
  18. And if we change the AIM120B for an AIM120C ??? Just curious.
  19. Eh Viper, number 18 On the resolved list is "EOS scanning not functional in elevation" And number 97 on the unresolved list is "SU27/SU33 EOS not slewable in Elevation" Isn't that different wording for the same problem? Which is not fixed atm? Also, bug numbers 31 and 32 are still there (hud graphical glitch), just not green anymore but transparent/white ish. Number 60 is still no good (RU multiplayer datalink), the basics are working but its no where near accurate. Often sends you out chasing planes that are not there, mixes up friend or foe or it does not show planes that are there. Number 86 (RU missile range compuation) is also still bugged. My NEZ range increases when turning away from the target and Decreases when turning towards an head-on course. Should be the other way round. (basically same as bug number 142 which is also on the resolved list while its not.) All the above was observed during MP flights and hence no usable tracks.
  20. But even whitout those skills, your still entitled of being able to enjoy and play the game. Whit which the map would help greatly.
  21. The EOS is still fixed in the vertical plane, Should be able to let it scan up/down. This is on both SU27 and SU33, didn't fly MIG29 yet. ***EDIT*** oops, #97 on the unresolved list:music_whistling:
  22. Ofcourse, if you go to http://www.159thgar.com you will have a shoutbox on the LH side of the screen. Below it is a TS3 viewer where you can see if anyone is on our TS3 server. Feel free to jump on if anyone is around, leave a message in the shoutbox or signup on the forums. Ofcourse your also most welcome on our DCS World server.
  23. http://spare-time-pilots.de/ Failing that, your welcome to come have a look in the 159th Guards Aviation Regiment. We have our server in Texas, i live in NL and have a ping of around 150. We have 3 wings, being; Fighter Wing, flying the SU-33 and SU-27 Strike Wing, Flying the SU-25 and SU-25T Attack Wing, flying the KA-50 We are currently restructuring our squad to include the following airframes; F15C A10C P51D Others may be added as more modules get released. Where flying whit members from all over the world including; Canada USA UK NL and some other places i am probably forgetting. ***EDIT*** BTW, did you spot this sticky yet? Quite big list of online squads; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34062 ***EDIT*** Where also going to try to include Combined Arms into our squad. But that's still very a much a work in progress and not definitive yet.
  24. Mental timing calculations for closure? What do i need that for? Please elaborate/post link.
  25. Really? I thought it was already there in 1.12 Can easily be mistaken though.
