Well, in that case, complex weather sytems are modelled fairly well i think. And its ongoing development, we already have in the dynamic weather; Icing Rain Snow Temp variations whit location geographical and in altitude pressure variations dependent on number of systems and type of systems. As above for wind direction and speed. (function of said pressure variations) Only thing missing is a good graphical representation of clouds associated whit the weather being simulated. Then again, never did much whit weather stuff so might be overlooking something. Oh, sea state is dependant on wind now aday's, so i guess that could be added to the list as well. Not sure about fog though, its there, but from what i have seen its either everywhere on the map or no where. (for the set altitude)

How about bush pilot? Flying off-shore helicopters maybe? Join a company flying small planes for pipeline inspections, aerial filming/photography. Heli-logging You will need an PPL at the very least though. (personal piloting license) Don't think you need a specific education to get an PPL, but the theory involved includes high levels of physics, weather, aerodynamics, english, your native language, and math.

What's stopping you? There's countless jobs in the industry. From Ramp Handler, to flight planning, to parts ordering, maintenance planning, company safety and quality inspector, engineering. And countless more.

Please don't, this is waaaay to funny.

Thank's for the info Gentlemen.

How do I add JTAC to an SU25 mission?

Should be possible yes. You won't have datalink though, nor any place to input co-ordinates. Making hard to find the target. -

Ah right, believe (almost) all ground units can perform JTAC. Believe the 159th mission builders usually use something like an BMP or BTR though. So i'd suggest to try it whit one of those. -
No you didn't, Thermal gradient i don't know about for sure, but the fact you can't read the temp in the cockpit of FC3 flyables doesn't mean there not affected by it. (you won't get icing though, cause the flight model turns on the anti icing for you, well could do, no way of telling really) Pressure system is the whole basis of the dynamic weather engine and is what creates wind for example. Which in turn affect all planes in DCS World, including FC3 ones. So FC3 flyables are affected by pressure systems.

Bummer, how about "not friend" or "Failed to ID" ?

exactly the same i believe. If your having specific problems could you please specify? -
Guess the possibility to set it wrong and return an "foe" signal. :joystick:

Hehe, would be fun to try though. Whole lot of nothing and all of a sudden the sky around you lights up whit tracers. And that's if your lucky.:D Also, i have seen people use the search light in MP to search for enemies in the dark..........

So you guys are saying that if Dynamic Weather engine is creating a 20 km/h head wind that; KA-50, A10C and P51D's will have there ground speed reduced by 20 km/h FC3 planes have an ground speed equal to there airspeed? Didn't think so. Go try for yourself. Same whit precipitation, same for all aircraft, regardless weather its produced by standard or dynamic weather engine. Same for Turbulence to, also affects SFM, though quite less noticeable for obvious reasons. There not unaffected though.

True, though it can launch illumination rockets. Whit some experience they burn just long enough to engage and hit 2 targets. Alternatively, fly in multiplayer and have SU-25 (T's) drop Illumination Bombs. Which burn significantly longer and a bit brighter to. So even though it wasn't designed for it, its definitely possible to fly night missions.

It's not that hard really, that is, if you work in aviation because you love it, instead of for the money.
-
Since when does dynamic weather not affect FC3 planes???? Dynamic Weather is a DCS World feature, and affects EVERYTHING in said world.
-
What brake pedals do you have? Some come whit software that allows you to simulate key presses. So you can still use them to stop the plane even if the game doesn't have an axis assigned for it. (you can't regulate the brake pressure though, will either be all or nothing)

Kameni, i'd recommend you study a bit on subjects like aerodynamics and relative speeds. Cause from what i can read here you have no clue what your talking about. Not trying to be rude, just trying to be honest. Anyway, let me try and explain about the how and why. So, an airplane fly's because there is Air moving over its lift providing surfaces. (usually wings) Though, it DOES NOT matter if the plane is moving trough the air, or if the plane is standing still and the air moving over the wing. The effect is the same, there is air flowing over the wings. If the speed of said air flows fast enough over the wing, a pilot can climb. (or take off if he is still on the ground). Now, about the airspeed indicator. This is a device that basically measures airpressure, this pressure gets then converted to a gauge that displays the pressure as speed. Or to be more precise, it displays AIR speed. So an airspeed indicator indicating an 10 knot headwind whit a plane standing still on the ground is completely realistic, and this happens in all planes in real life. As for Side wind helping in take-off, it depends a bit on the airplane and the exact angle of the wind. 90 Degrees isn't going to help, but doesn't have to make it worse either. Depending on wind speed. An 30 Degrees side wind will most definitely help in take off though. Or better said, you can use a shorter runway because the ground speed upon take-off will be lower then without wind. Finally, do NEVER look at your speed over the ground for anything related to flying the airplane. It WILL get you in trouble. (ground speed is important for navigation though). In case you would like to know how i know all this. I maintain helicopters for a living, have studied aircraft mechanics and systems, as well as aircraft aerodynamics. At the moment i have about 5 years experience of helicopter maintenance. Here's a site that explains (most off) the above WAY better then i ever could. Dynamic Flight Basic Aerodynamics Relative Wind

Weren't there picture's / video's of R-77 AE being (test?) fired from SU-27?:music_whistling:

Never said its not financially viable, only that ED's main business is something quite different. For example, they could use funding from the military side to bridge gaps between releases or to initially cover unforseen costs due to longer development times. Just an example ofcourse. No one here really knows exactly how ED operates, and the ones that do cleverly keep there mouths shut.

Don't know bout SLmod, but cant you votekick someone out as a player? Possible whit Servman, as well as other things. Unfortunately hardly anyone knows that.
-
First time they do it kick them. 2nd time BAN. programs like Servman work well for this.
-
Thanks all. A squadron mate figured this out while having a look at someone's mod for an Turkish KC-135. Its just a matter of adding a single line to the db_countries.lua file. (we added it to Russia btw, but its the same procedure) Useful to know, there is no need to modify the server or client. All settings are taken over in the mission file and it works for everyone as intended.

And that is why DCS is just a side/pet project of Eagle Dynamics that primarily makes simulation software for military clients. That's were the money is made, not DCS.
