  1. Ok, ill solve the riddle; EFM = External Flight Model PFM = Pure ****ing Magic, ie the input is known, what happens no one knows and the output is pure flightsim perfection.
  2. Wow, those screenshots look absolutely stunning. The weathering is really nicely done, makes it look old without making it look neglected by overdoing it. Can't wait to fly this beauty.
  3. Not a bug, seen many planes land on water. Need a bit of luck though.
  4. +1 Evo series to be more specific. They perform really close to the Pro series but tend to be a good bit cheaper. For example, the Samsung Pro 500GB model costs 370 euro's average (in NL) The Samsung Evo 500 GB model costs 250 euro's average (in NL)
  5. Hughes/Schweizer Magdonnel Douglas (MD series) Bolkov (however you spell it) Agusta Westland Sikorsky There's probably more but i guess these are the main ones.
  6. Good points, though in my opinion not really the reason why a helicopter is so expensive. For example the intermediate gearbox, its a pretty straightforward thing, much simpler then the (automatic) gearbox of a modern car. The cooling isn't that much of an issue either, the PT6 is a good example of that. As for the RPM control, in the old days of the hydromechanical control units it was quite a challenge, these days whit all the electronics is much easier to maintain a given RPM. What make's an helicopter so expensive is that EVERYTHING has to be an EXACT. Much more so then in planes. And its this precision in each and every component of the helicopter what makes it expensive. To give you an idea, get two pieces of wood. And shape them exactly the same. (within 0.01 mm orso) Then make sure both have the exact same weight. Then make sure the lateral center of gravity is exactly the same then make sure the longitudinal center of gravity is exactly the same. You've just gone trough the basic challenges of manufacturing a rotorblade. Another reason is that a helicopter has to deal whit severe vibrations throughout its live. Making it much harder to design it in a way that it actually stays together.
  7. Except that VERTEX is copyrighted by OCZ, so were back to square 1. ONTOPIC, i think those screenshots look excellent and do show a massive improvement over what we have now. If the performance improves likewise we may just have a winner once EDGE comes out.
  8. That's more like it, lets hope it will (eventually) change to; "This patch will enable all previously disabled weapons"
  9. Well then, that sucks............. A third of the weapon's wont make it into the game.
  10. Point taken, i thought i had the facts though. Apparently i did not. My concerns are still legitimate in general though reading some of the posts that have been made. As for SiThSpAwN post; I'm not discussing anything, just merely stating an disturbing observation. (in my opininon at least) As i said earlier in my now deleted thread; i KNOW for a FACT what has happened. I could even proof it, but it would do more damage then good to all involved. Kudos to Cobra though for sending me a PM that he acted to quick deleting it. Not that it matters cause it didn't seem to get anywhere meaningful anyway, unfortunately. ~S~ Lets just hope everyone gets over this and that the MIG-23 will indeed come our way.
  11. They have already done so by doing the bureaucratic paperwork....... No announcement needed, only gives room to more speculation and misconception.
  12. Try to see it this way; If Laszlo would come here and say he did X or Y he would be automaticly giving information that Leatherneck has decided to keep private. (maybe they decided this whit Laszlo as well?) Instead Laszlo seems, so far at least, to be respecting that decision and let things rest. Community should do the same. Sometimes its possible to point to someone and say he's guilty, other times it's not. This is one of those times, not any one person here is guilty of anything.
  13. Well said, +
  14. You, and the rest of the community, really don't have a clue. Laszlo is just as much a man of his word. And it hurts to see how the community all of a sudden seems to see him as the bad guy.
  15. Good question's. I'd guess that all ON aircraft systems and weapons are not affected. Anything not directly related to the MIG-21 though, well we will have to wait and see. Good questions though.
  16. What the heck? Just to be clear to everyone (and not blaming Leatherneck here). Please keep in mind that the funds raised on indiegogo were raised years ago. Laszlo has worked very hard and has worked trough several major setbacks to get the MIG-21 BiS to where it is today. Either whit or without help from (part of) the now Leatherneck team, is not important. Don't forget that Laszlo had people working for him during that time, one decided to run whit the code he wrote AND his paycheck. I have the numbers somewhere, from Laszlo himself, and just the above event alone took nearly all his indiegogo funds away. So please give the guy some slack and refrain some saying "he took the money". Cause i would be very surprised if he would even have a penny of it left. As for this whole leatherneck internal issue thing, also there i know more, but won't share it in public. (for obvious reasons) I do like to say though that i am very disappointed in how things turned out for Laszlo. He was a main driving force in the project, and the man who did all the necessary research. He's also the one that had the contacts needed to make this module stand out from the crowd, and the same would be true for an MIG-23 simulation. ~S~ Having some very mixed feelings over this one. Just doesn't seem right. ***EDIT*** People have been contacting me if i can share the info whit them privately for one reason or another. Answer, no i will not share ANY inside information i have over the MIG-21BiS project.
  17. Educated approximation any better?:D
  18. Surely you mean the 25MPU instead of ML?
  19. Beczl will do everything he can to release the MIG-21 BiS, be it on time, or at a later date if necessary. That's the only thing we know for a fact, the rest is as usual speculation. As for the silence from Beczl, two reason's; Issue needs to be resolved He currently has very limited internet access.
  20. You do know there is a launch override switch on the weapons control panel right? No need to wait for the laser then. Though the lasers lifetime will be shorter. No need to worry though, most of us usually get shot down before the laser fails.:joystick:
  21. For tanks? Why risk missing the target if you can (almost) guarantee a hit whit the 25L? As for general load-out. Its nice but i like having at least a pair of guided missiles whit me in case of air defences i run into. On another note, even though the S-24 and S-25 are very powerfull, there not very precise and still require a direct hit to take out the target. If that happens to be some kind of structure or other large object that's fine. But to hit a tank whit them, you need to get a lot closer then you really want. Better launch some S-13's from a distance while still having a better change of getting a direct hit. From a saver distance.
  22. Now that is awesome. Wondering though, Seiki just announced to be making an HDMI calbe that upscales to 4k resolution. Allowing you to run the sim at lower resolution, and thus higher FPS. (or locked at 30 but more stable) Might also solve the vRAM issue holding you back. Guess it still won't run 60Hz though cause the port on the TV is stil the same. http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2014/1/6/seiki-launches-%28r%29evolutionary-4k-upscaling-hdmi-cable.aspx
  23. 4 S-25L's ofcourse. But on a random ground attack / CAS mission a good load out for me would be; 2 25ML's on inboard stations 4 S-8 KOM rocket pods 2 S-13 rocket pods Could swap out 2 S8 for 25L or 29L depending on the mission. (29 has larger range but not very good at hitting moving targets) And a full load of flares, let others take care of radars.
