With the new FA-18C TPOD (very light, no 9X). I just destroyed a BUK SA-11 central radar car from (****41000) sorry, it was 44333 Alt with AGM-65F and turning cold, having 2 missiles fired at me that ran out. :)

yep uncage the mav seems to make things work (takes 1/2 a sec to respond). Unfortunately the comment 'lock position slave will be in a very wrong place' will happen after a couple of 'active pause' tests a did with a dozen or so mavericks, but it works for the first couple of mavericks and do also 'step' for a reset to the next maverick. Anyway, I can rifle a missile by assigning active ddi and uncage and wait 1/2 a sec for slave to happen (and a proper lock)
-
My MAV-F wont fire? How do you get the Tpod info to the MAV 'targeted' mode? - Tpod up - AG - ARMED - FLIR target selected (in a way that would be OK for JDAM) - MAV-F TV screen and HUD diamond show MAV-F slaved to target - but NO uncrossed "MAVF' in HUD - cannot rifle ?
-
The KC-135 MPRS only seems to work from the left basket for me, the right basket I fly straight through (after permission). Am I correct in this or am I missing something?
-
pffff you had me worried there I missed it. Just ran a pattern, T/O 37000pnds, Mavericks and a full bag, 350kts downwind, base leg under 250, gear down, flaps auto/switch Up, down to 180kts approaching threshold (FCS induced AoA 8°), took a F4 look 'on/over the right wing' in a replay which I never do, waddayaknow, its animated @bbrz., flap moving, correcting, wild guess circling 10°, looks really cool if one is into that. DCS, my humbling stupid apologies for missing the effort made in the FA-18C.
-
Well, it's rather the 'Auto' 'flaps/aileron droop/slats' flaps switch up thing. In F2 you see no movement rather invisible, but if you DDI your FCS you can notice that with the flaps switch Up in 'auto' the AoA will still tend to go move towards about "8" if in steady descend. The FCS knows better than you how to descend on finals it appears, you just keep the F18 in the envelope just above stall to keep your runway short, or below blowing tire speed if you can't help yourself heavy and with an endless (PG) runway. YMMV
-
Landside my considerations of flaps are, a. because I'm lazy and in a hurry with a M2000 following me around on my six for instance, I don't use flaps, straight in, as long as I can touch down < 200kts I won't have a risk of blowing tires, b. with no flaps there is also the consideration of Weight and Runway length. Heavy > 38000 or something, you really need to pay close attention to stay at the underside of 170kts despite semi stall when heavy, or you’ll run out of runway, b. I’m still in a hurry so whatever the weight I’ll use only half flaps to have more speed inbound and on final for more roll control and lower threshold speed because of the horrible brakes of the FA-18C, c. I use full flaps because I am way heavy (plans/mission changed thus loadout, land to rearm) and need control to land lowest speed possible on a stupid short runway and be braking really hard (Gudauta, Perian Golf islands) YRMV

Is it keys.ini or keys.init ? (because I used keys.ini) A: Do you need with KEY binding definitions? Does (DCS-BIOS) Vri2DCS.exe work with B, B: are controls “Action” descriptions enough? (like FSUIPC in FSX) which are: C: the names in \Scripts\DCS-BIOS\lib\FA-18C_hornet.lua D: I need the ‘syntax’ “APLAT- = STROBE_SW 0: STROBE_SW 0” etc EXAMPLES E: the ‘headers’ in the keys.ini or are [DEVICES] [MCP] all there is? A: "LShift - Num4" UFC COMM 1 Channel Selector Knob - CCW/Decrease Instrument Panel; UFC "LShift - Num7" UFC COMM 1 Channel Selector Knob - CW/Increase Instrument Panel; UFC "LShift - Num1" UFC COMM 1 Channel Selector Knob - PULL Instrument Panel; UFC B: Push to Test Switch - CCW/Decrease Right Vertical Panel Push to Test Switch - CW/Increase Right Vertical Panel C: VRi Button : CTLBN0ON VRi Button : CTLBN1ON VRi Button : BAR- VRi Button : BAR+ VRi Button : BAR++ VRi Button : BAR+ etcetera D: EXAMPLE what is the entry for instance for TFC rotary on MCP EFIS side: F18 COM2-pull = EFIS TFC - push F18 COM2-CW = EFIS TFC - CW F18 COM2-CCW = EFIS TFC - CCW F18 Course Set Switch Left = EFIS ADF2/VOR2 Up F18 Course Set Switch Right = = EFIS ADF2/VOR2 Down etcetera? I would like HDG CRS Altimeter Radar_altimeter_warning COM1&2/pull/CW/CCW binded to MPC buttons (and anything I can come up with later) THX -

I need the proper Vri2DCS.exe keys.ini & how to syntax the keystrokes to the button names THX I can - connect DCS-BIOS to DCS export (FA-18C) - start Crome control reference live preview APP, and works OK - start Vri2DCS.exe, and connects, and I can push/turn MCP buttons: VRi2DCS Version 1.0.0 by BrassEm VRinsight CDUII to DCS World interface controller Connecting to 127.0.0.1:7778 Initialising Winsock... Or, you will (we're) all lumped together in a rendition cell in Utah for to be waterboarded after a long flight, blindfolded, from wherever in the world, extradited for the long reach of IP Gates. Odious, what. Bit late for Linux.

Have (2) button(s) for range, have (2) button(s) for Radar elevation Then you're ready for everything coming at you. BTW the RL F15/FA18C " .. elevation Switch is a potentiometer actuated by a switch on a centering spring, so more travel would be faster movement, but, it will center back to null when released. This is -15 stuff of course, I’m going to bet -18 would be similar but don’t know that to be fact" Radar elevation centers back to the middle. WTH?

properly - and safely - said, mr instructor, one would be introducing a lot more and rather unwieldy parameters, and now for the Scheiss Heiser Zerbrechen. That's the guy(s) you rated 'he/she will go places' some time ago if fate and fortune would have it, what. Fortunately this DCS is a simulator, and we can try, try and try again with our multi million dollar contraption and a support team of dozens, all made from pixels, at a cost of $75 and 350W to operate, because boy would we have a problem.

Called ass backwards. First learn how to fly (or rather, learn to land, solo), then you 'train' how to fly these specific numbers. You thus knew all the basic stuff of to 'fly' (rather, to land., take-off is nothing), because otherwise you're with your clown nose in the mud, and your instructor under investigation for letting a clown on the controls too long. Banking 30° and 'let's see if this brings us to the threshold' is ass backwards. 'My plane' and keep your hands where I can see them.

Mine is running quite nicely. Standard download, separate install, run DCS_updater.exe, asks for update permission sometimes, ask for permission to run on Local Network, granted, (no one missed this , right ?) run Firefox link "x:\DCS OpenBeta Server\WebGui\index.html", says server found, ask for port permission (8080), enter, run .miz, Web Gui says 'started' or something now run my regular DCS (VR), MP, enter my local IP 192.168.x.xx (the local network IP) and I am in the mission no problems, latest update 2.5.5.33184

How to avoid a wake seems obvious, but how to improve command over a plane (as per AAR supposedly being 'difficult') since I'm there anyway, after fill up of 3 xrta bags, I practice by barrel rolls over and around the tanker fuselage in our DCS simulator. Like, whatever.
-
Problem is with 1050 lbs. in the tanks, still with heavy racks, and the K135 miles away, I'm in quite a bit of a predicament, and simply pointing at the tanker a way of quick intercept. Then again the bouncing being quite entertaining, then why.
