  1. 3xfuel 6x120C 2x9X I can firewall to 40k angels now a tad easier I noticed, that's a plus. Still the DCS 18C seems under powered when looking at the 'unofficial' performance numbers/graph (1999, F414-GE-400) 40,000ft mach 1.438-1.490 gross weight 34-58,000 (WTH?) never seen those numbers any where near, f.i. heavy 48,000 LBS @ 40,000 FT MACH 1.483 .. is what the graph says ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bloody hell DCS, do something
  2. It's the 'straight in' / short break in a hurry, prob not allowed in Airforce, but Navy landbased, who knows, it's what I would do, fc*k clown pilots Actually, indeed, then again I heard a recording of a jet passenger pilot who phrased this over ATC, so, whatever
  3. this thread is a year old. no problems here. moreover, use to be only M could be changed, now I can change every channel
  4. alpha is at the bottom of the fcs page then again the bracket is also there in NAV HUD personally I land 1/2 flaps ~175kts, works every time, correct for heavy I have decades of FSX flying, you land with the center line in between your knees, is what civil aviation does
  5. MP BVR can only lock bandits that track first 2.5.5.38140 MP (growling sidewinder) BVR can only lock bandits that track first 2.5.5.38140 Doesn’t matter what distance 10-80nm When there is/are bandit(s) closer 7-20k Alt, won’t lock No track (No target number) = No STT
  6. HP Reverb, new level of sharp, software worse, sharpness degrade outside rather small center spot, $$$. The only 'proper functioning' VR is that 6000$ one, that your grandchild can buy, if he has a job, if the world still exists, but heh, those are just details.
  7. 24 Oct 2019 DCS 2.5.5.38140 BVR 120c radar lock still not working properly F16s BVR 20nm / 50nm / 60nm Radar skips closest F16, keeps locking 50nm This starts to suck majorly with the F16 now having TWS What.
  8. Been there, could do 8 diff targets in two long pickles. One (1) click in he wrong sequence and your release module goes ape. I'd suggest one waits till the finished product, in the mean time do only 4 max, that is a lot less prone to going ape.
  9. My downwind is 250kts, I lower gear and flaps in the final break, when over 220kts trim whilst banking, on speed, level out ~170kts in the groove < 1nm from stern, because it can.
  10. Swivel chair, bolted my hotas (and more) to the armrests with 2x2 wood, USB cables extended 5m via ceiling and retractable dog leashes, learn to dogfight sitting 90° from straight & watching the 6, be able to hold level / speed / do ACM whilst looking at your enemy if it's a F15 pro, tough luck
  11. We want RAID mode done (first), more fair and effective than shoot-'m-up TWS in air battle. In MP server dog fighting BTW - my new setup trail - I had some guy in F15 gun me down about two (2) dozen times and I had a good look at the flight envelopes difference. F15 can line up gun sight a FA18C, any speed any turn any angle. That's not fair (F16 is our natural adversary, besides SU's).
  12. Promised radar RAID mode (centered bundled, long range Uber bore mode as it were) would suffice for a while, a lot easier to implement I would guess.
  13. TWS tracks multiple targets now, but how do you step/cycle missile launch does not step/cycle I tried several options, RAID/FOV button does not do anything
  14. You've made sure no other devices bind to these axis?
  15. FA18C seems to be designed to keep autoflap On when taking off, since you're supposed to hit sustained speeds > 250 kts, 350kts for ferry and higher for altitude cruise, your pitch change is less in Auto than in - early - manual Not flying like Airforce but like NAVY, you take shortcuts in the pattern which (often enough) means you correct your speed, when gears down, with additional holding of the speedbrake button, nothing wrong with that, the brake auto retract rather a safety design feature I'd guess, try landing fully loaded up (in a crosswind) and notice what happens with your speedbrake out when you cannot know your precise stall speed ..
  16. It appears a 'ground suction' effect is present at high speeds, and natural, which I think to remember DCS implemented, for the F18 at least, but someone might confirm f I remember this correctly. Wanting to approach and hit on a SAM at over 500 kts at 10ft you have to be conscious this ground effect is there, or die.
  17. They 'fixed' the bypass G-limiter, horrible, the 1 thing that kept us on par with the FC3 toy jets (less blackout though I just noticed). Plz. anyone posts how the TWS steps to the next target.
  18. Saw a massive amount of F16 on the servers yesterday, ED made quite the bundle. Many BMS players no doubt.
  19. Ul layer: mouse x4 clicks/rotate but (so u lose 4 buttons!) what I did was Voiceattack 'center mouse' command which makes the VR mouse blue cross appear in center of the view. I use rarely, most my commands are Voiceattack speak.
  20. iRacing has to do maintenance on a massive competitive score board, DCS presumably shouldn't. It's a matter of pricing, dividing product life by present purchase price isn't that difficult. Success though, is driven by quality and productivity and has little to do with pricing as such. Success depends on accessible and enduring talent. In these days market place, only the driven, the best and fastest need apply.
  21. Real Life (AIM-9X) 'shoot around the corner' missiles as the new worldwide standard, are a universe separated from DCS (or maybe ‘RL’ Nevada) 'guns only, heads-on-merge' jet fighter duels, where such seem to be rooted in antiquated (WWI) training setups to demonstrate and mark a pilot's command of the apparatus, as are f.i. parading exercises and 'flying by the numbers'. I'd say in RL hot theatres, the Black Sea or China sea these days, maximum corner speed is the number in the back of the mind of any intercepting jet pilot send out to investigate or flying CAP, to be on the safe side of error.
  22. These (Ebay US $1.86) 4x4 + 4xtra buttons (+8 led’s) microbutton pads are possibly suited to be made in MDI buttons (landscape 4rows x5buttons), 3 of these make 3*20 = 60 buttons https://alexnld.com/product/8-led-4-x-4-push-buttons-matrix-keypad-16-key-switch-keyboard-for-arduino-avr-arm-stm32 https://www.ebay.com/itm/4x4-Keypad-Matrix-Keyboard-Module-16-Buttons-Mcu-LED-For-Arduino-DIY-Smart-Car/201967003312?var=501979887449 So, I could buy 3 = 60 buttons, an Arduino (Mega2560R3), and with an adjusted (Linux?) “256 joystick button” Arduino sketch I can plug an Arduino USB in, and have 60 additional button in DCS? Errr, how could that be accomplished, could anyone explain how to go about this in somewhat kindergarten English? - I can solder and copy paste Arduino .ino in the IDE and made the USB interface for a Logitech race wheel shifter - I am on a Windows PC source “256 button” Arduino sketch: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4048843&postcount=254
