Well you actually have Narrow and extra Narrow zooms. In previous versions the SHKVAL had 1xzoom (wide), 8xzoom (narrow) and 23xzoom (extra narrow). Wide (1x) was deleted because of frame rate issues and the fact that real shkval does not have wide view . So now you have 8x and 23x zooms only.
-
It is not possible, once you go out of gimbal limits of SHKVAL it looses lock/ground stabilization.

This table should be in the manual. Thanks a lot for it, I never knew how to set day number to match the actual season:thumbup:
-
Yep, it is a problem with the cockpit - it works well in Ricardo's HD pit.
-
Excelent work, thanks to Ricardo and Blaze for bringing it into DCS World. I have one remark, would it be possible to do a complete russian version of the cockpit?
-
yes, that's how it works. See figure 3 on the following link: http://www.rfcafe.com/references/electrical/ew-radar-handbook/mach-number.htm
-
Well, now I am puzzled - because it works in FC2 for Su-25A/T. ATC tells me to set QFE to let's say 745.8 and I can set it with default keys shitf+=, shift+- (increase/decrease altimeter pressure). In DCS world the keys work (the altimeter changes altitude on the ground), however the display is always stuck at 744.
-
Well it is not about TAS/IAS, it is about critical Mach number. It is modeled well.
-
A few small issues I've come across when flying the T. 1.At first the barometric altimeter base pressure setting not working. The altitude changes when changing the pressure, however the base pressure display is always stuck at 744 Torr. 2. When landing on ILS - the command steering (the big circle) is shown in the HUD, the small circle showing the beam position is missing and indication with K is also missing (maybe a feature?) 3. In Zemlya mode - navigation on HSI is still stuck. 4. After landing the log is full of engine start-engine shutdown messages. Thanks a lot for looking into these.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Dr_Arrow replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
yes, Superhornet will make it even more weird :) -
That would be great :) - as the DCS world is free, it would save people from downloading and installing the russian version just to get the sound files (like me :)
-
Well, does not work out of the box - but I copied ATC and player into LOFC subdirectory of RUS speech and it works, I will try to use betty from LOFC2 and it should be fine. Still the russian JTAC and AWACS are missing, I hope they will be available with russian releas of DCS World.
-
Thank you very much, I'll try it
-
Is it somehow possible to get russian communication (ATC coms, wingman coms, Betty, etc) in the english version? It worked in FC2, when flying for the russian side the comms were in Russian language. Thanks for help.

The Toad (Su-25T) appreciation thread
Dr_Arrow replied to Nate--IRL--'s topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
That's some wonderful news! I finally have The T-Toad in DCS world with all its goodies (AI, mission generator, graphics). This just made my day. The only thing missing for me is the SU-25A ... will we be able to buy it for DCS world? -
I just wonder how many ppl want to fly two seater aircraft in sims that do not support two seat aircraft, thus making them highly unrealistic. Flying the Tomcat or two seater Super Hornets without RIO (either AI or real) is pointless in my opinion. Cooperation with RIO in such planes is absolutely essential to their flying and is a big part of training. Just my two cents.

That footage probably isn't from Georgia, but some sources state that T-frogs flew missions over Georgia. I still wonder what rockets did they use on the Su-25 SMs? Looks like some sort of heavy rockets (S-25, S-24), however you cannot fire them in pairs in the sim (maybe a feature of the SM version) and they don't smoke that much in the sim.
-
Decreasing the resolution of cockpit displays to 256 helps :)
-
Most of the footage is probably well known, but this particular video shows shots of Su-25T in Georgia and also a very nice SHKVAL footage (really close to what we have in the sim):
-
I think that I have found the reason of the heading bug in Su-25/Su-25T. When taking off from parking place at Mineralnye Vody and ATC directing me to the RWY 30, everything is fine. However if ATC gives me order to take off from RWY 12, during taxing to the RWY the compass goes always nuts - no matter how long I wait for INS to align.
-
I've heard a rumor that it is going to be Mi-24 Hind
-
I confirm the problem in FC2. It makes flying night missions from Nalchik impossible. On Mineralnye Vody at least landing lights iluminate ground - but taxi lights do not work. At Nalchik landing lights iluminate ground only a bit.
-
One more remark - RSBN in Su-25 cannot even switch waypoints automatically, so it should be removed. I asked guys at our department that worked with Su-22/25 avionic systems. I don't know how it works in Su-25T.
-
Not really a bug, but a rather anoying feature in having the waypoints always switch automatically. I would really appreciate the possibility to switch way-points entirely manually. There are many times waypoints that I cannot precisely reach a waypoint because they will switch automatically when the player is some 5-6 km away (depends on the next waypoint).
-
I wonder, what is the type of the engines modeled in our Su-25T? Su-25T should have R-195 engines with T/O thrust of 4300 kg compared to R-95Sh with T/O thrust of 4100 kg.
