  1. Greetings, I am owner of the original LOMAC GOLD (Lockon+Flaming Cliffs 1) and since I've replaced my DVD drive the game won't start at all - it start checking the CD and stops in the middle, although it worked with my previous drive. I have it installed correctly with updated SF driver for windows 7 enterprise and it worked before. Can anyone help me with this problem, or is it impossible to run the sim again for me?
  2. That's what I am trying to say - developing too complex dynamic campaign engine is a major undertaking for some years (2-3). No I think it would make senese to develop at least a good mission generator that takes in account what happened in previous missions (something like an expanded RAMGEN for FC1 was).
  3. I think some form of dynamic campaign generator is needed. However Moa, I don't think it has to be that complex and track every destroyed vehicle, building, bridge, etc (at least not in the first iteration). I woud consider take that data only as supplementary for moving the front and generating another mision. RamGEN was a good base example of how it could work, it just tracked what was destroyed in the last mission and generated the big scene by itself like base capturing and frontline move. I think that it is more important at this stage to have a good mission generator (I just ran out of missions in FC2) that takes in account what happened in previous missions and generates variable missions rather than a super dynamic campaign generator that tracks all bullets shot.
  4. Exactly, if TM was at least lighter, as I think it could be with more modern technologies, it would make sense to fly it. Even empty T behaves much worse than the stock Su-25 and turns like a truck.
  5. The encyclopedia lists weight of this plane at 10600 Kg empty. However ingame when made flyable the SU-25TM weights exactly the same as the standard SU-25T - 11496 kg. TM version should be more nimble than the T-brick, so there would be a point in flying it even without its special weapons and pods. Is there any way to change the real weight of SU25-TM?
  6. It can be software problem, but also a problem with hardware - I had this stick and I threw it out, because it had really bad potentiometers. It worked well for about a half year and after that problems started - I couldn't calibrate rudder properly, after that it started to generate spikes. The only temporary solution I found was to clean the pots with WD-40 but after a week or so it was again bad. So I bought thrustmaster cougar afterburner 2 and after two years of flying haven't had a slightest problem with it. I read many forums and many people were having problems with L3D pro stick (I personally know 3 in my area), I would recommend you to buy a new one and spare your nerves findling with this stick.
  7. I always use 0xzoom to get shkval into the general target area and ground stabilize(shkval moves much faster in 0xzoom and moves very slowly in 8xzoom, because of precision) and afterwards I use zoom in (8x for bigger targets or 23x for small targets) and fine tune shkval into precise target position to get a lock. In case of big targets 0xzoom can be sufficient to get a lock.
  8. that is really insane. Instead of fixing detail options of shkval, they will delete 0x zoom even for people that were happy with how it worked. If anyone has low FPS, is it really that to program macro to have shkval set to 8x zoom default??? I just cannot believe in such a lame solution - I have always used 0xzoom for shkval - it is very usefull when targeting buildings, ships or other big targets and ground stabilizing shkval. For me it works well, leave it as it is, cause this pseudo lame solution is much WORSE than no solution of the FPS problem. And I also suggest ED to delete clouds, AFM, high poly models, shadows, cities and other things from the sim as they also create FPS problems for some people.
  9. Who said that???? I hope that this is just another form of sarcasm or a really bad joke.
  10. I've flown Su-25 exclusively in FC and have logged lot of hours in it. But definitely in 2.0 both frogs are more stable in longitudinal plane. I previous version the plane would oscilate with fast stick movements even at high speeds, now those oscilations for sure are damped.
  11. I would certainly pay for it. I think that it is the only way of getting some good dynamic campaign for FC 2. A very good dynamic campaign engine has been also recently implemented for Rise of Flight. Things could even go further and 3rd party dynamic campaign engine could also be fully supported by ED. For me the lack of good campaigns and missions has always been the only gripe with the series.
  12. You can definitely try to lower res. of cockpit displays in settings menu.
  13. However we are still missing training videos for free fall bombs in Su-25/T
  14. Also watch out not being too fast.
  15. This video is very interesting: Especially the HUD footage and symbolics is very different from T-Frog, it looks like Su-25SM
  16. Great post - surely it is a very interesting attack pattern. I would just like to know what is the latteral distance from target in time of separation of the two flights. Its advantage probably is that you can check the target and its defense before the attack and splitting up confuses target defense even more. The main disadvantage is the lack of surprise. Probably not executable with presence of manpads or other short range IR missiles.
  17. I also use high attack profile with bombs. I have also found that you can start to pull up when the CCRP timer starts to countdown. Although you have to have a good feeling for it, because if you pull too fast or too early, the bombs won't release. But, in this way I can pull up at 4000 (starting at 5k) and loft bombs from 6-7 kms of the target.
  18. A very nice thread that I'd like to revive - as we will be getting a new model and a new campaign of Su-25. There has been written a lot about different fighter tactics and a lot about using the T-version, but vanilla Su gets often overlooked. I am still strugling with attack profile with Kh-29L, as I can spot buildings only from range of 10 km's after aquiring, firing the missile and waiting for impact I just come in to range of Manpads. Any advice here, are 29Ls viable weapon of the plain Su-25?
  19. I think that it will be out just in days time. Training videos are out, promo video for campaign is out and with new page there will also be the possibility to buy it :)
  20. Well at first I would set in targeting properties in ME weapons for the planes to use against targets (at every target you can set used weapons as ANY, MISSILE, BOMB...)
  21. I wish you good luck with this venture and I hope that you will be able to get it released this year, because what is LOMAC (offline) mainly lacking for me are good campaigns - there are a few of them and because of their linear nature they do not offer much replayability.
  22. I hope that engine fires in Su-25 will be fixed, as usually fire in one engine means loss of the whole aircraft, even after shutting it down.
  23. For me, the absence of any DC generator is very problematic in LOMAC/DCS. The reason is quite simple - the lack of campaigns. LOMAC has been out there for some years, yet there are only maybe a few dozen of campaigns and only few of them offer well balanced and realistic scenarios (Red Hammer campaing comes to my mind as first). On the other hand - look at Il2 - there are hundreds of user made campaings and even many paid addons, so one can really choose what he wants. The recent campaign creation competition brought us only two campaigns, that's also saying something. The last point is that even though most of the handcrafted missions are fun, most force player to figure out the trick behind the mission and do not adhere to realistic procedures (at least that's my experience with most of the user made and even stock campaigns). DC generators tend to generate maybe a bit boring missions but not that player centristic missions. I don't think that LOMAC/DCS would need some super complicated dynamic battlefield, but also a simple well refined generator working within the constraints of mission editor would suffice. Good example of such program is RAMGEN by DoctorK that generates some nice and well laid out missions (and player can tweak them further in ME) - with bit of refinement in the area of even more randomization and a bit closer integration with the sim would be a I think a good starting solution for the lack of campaigns in LOMAC/DCS world.
  24. Well I just hope that DoctorK will create a new RamGEN for FC 2.0. Because generally the whole lockon series is lacking good campaigns. Where you can download hundreds of campaigns for Il2 - for LOMAC there are maybe some tens campaigns and only a few of them are really worth it. With FC 2.0 and triggers and other randomization factors even the current RamGEN missions would be a blast to fly.
