  1. I purchased a learned the Huey before BS and I feel it gave me a better understanding/appreciation of the AP and it's advantages. I'd say it's the best way to learn as I've never entered VRS in the Shark without being shot in the face first :)
  2. I didn't care for the movies the man made and I don't quite understand the "respect" he has garnered for said work which is why I haven't contributed to this thread so far.. But FCS he was a human being with family that loved him, poor show if you can't respect that:disgust:
  3. What are you gonna use to drive the FFB? If I had the money this would be a good start for a nice custom FFB stick;) http://www.simsteering.com/products.html
  4. Hope no-one was hurt. EDIT. Seems there was a lot of folks hurt. Sad stuff.
  5. Funny story about female gamers. My ex played WOW, had a lovely speaking voice and would exploit male players lameness to get the pick of the best gear in dungeons and raids. There was a female IL2PF pilot who was very well respected in the community, only flew Japanese aircraft as I remember.
  6. Exporting the Viewports in DCS kinda messes up the HDR bloom alignment. I run DCS without the HDR on:(
  7. There was one that used the same colours but a clearer font but I can't find it. I just mapped my UFC to my keyboard and alot of the CDU aswell using a modifier button on my joystick.
  8. Such an iconic aircraft. Call me sad but it's kind of a shame that after all the incredible work that went into making them time has now passed them by  A DCS Blackbird would be a very interesting challenge to fly, but would be very niche and we'd need a bigger map:megalol:
  9. Somebody get me a skateboard, a diet Pepsi and some L-Dopa; I can fix this. Oh no here comes the Libyans
  10. Very interesting vid
  11. I can't believe anyone would even mention FSX in a flight model discussion. I love the logic of "it's hard to fly, it must be wrong" :music_whistling:

    Pandorum

What's a three point landing? Pandorum was decent enough, I just couldn't get into Equilibrium although I liked the Orwellian "Sense Offenders" but the production values were pretty low and the fight scenes didn't make sense to me.
  13. I too have not recieved one, which isn't a big deal as I already have P51, but I would like to give it away to some fellow sim flyer. Although maybe I don't qualify as I didn't have alpha access an option when I pledged. Anyone know what the score is?
  14. Very nice compact multipurpose pit. Almost a "Swiss Army Pit" really :)
  15. Strange thing is if its a HOTAS normally they would feature the throttle in the vid but I saw no throttle? Maybe a entry-mid level stick?
  16. Aww I thought the new pit was out when I read this:doh:
  17. Back when I had an x45 I rubbed the tip of a pencil around the "lip" that the plate sits on. Graphite is a lubricant due to the layered arrangement of the carbon atom "sheets", it's also good for new zippers that are a bit sticky:pilotfly:
  18. Putting a timescale on a project is software development suicide as is saying "it'll include features x,y&z" Nevada is case in point, it started as a 3rd party project and was "promised" to people who bought A10c Beta for the first couple of weeks till it was removed and ED are now legally bound to create the map. At one point early in A10C beta ED also thought converting the current map to DX11 would be a simple and straightforward process ready for release with A10C final release. It was discovered that it was infact a horribly complex process that would require the current map to be rewritten from scratch. I'm sure the team would love to share all their idea's and hopes for DCS in the future but "Everything is subject to change" and sometimes mentioning an idea on the internet can become an anchor around your neck
  19. Of the all the DCSWWII the Jug is my favourite. I hope they spend alot of time on the DM for horses, I've seen footage of P47's free hunting horse drawn equipment convoys in the German countryside and it looks super fun vapourising a horse with a .50 :devil_2:
  20. It's a shame the PayPal option wasn't open from day one, we might already have the 262 in the bag, you'll have to remember that for next Kickstarter campaign :) I'm proud to be one of the thousands, more than two I bet, who share your passion for WWII flight sims. That's alot of friends :pilotfly:
  21. Very nice pit, are you putting a display behind the MFCD's? I guess the onscreen ones will be life size, or bigger, but it helps when inputting data. Anyway lovely man cave. :)
  22. Like I say my wallets open and ready for action.
  23. More map would be the way to go I think. I'd love a B-17 and I'd pay $100 for it on its own but the next most important step after this project is complete must be another theatre and more "mainstream" Warbirds, B-17 is niche within a niche. Maybe in 4-5 good years down the road B-17 would be commercially viable. Just my thoughts.
  24. +1 What he said. @ Adonys If you think the moderators on here will be as lenient as the 1C mods were think again. KS isn't about slick PR campaigns, its about idea's and the DCSWWII idea has been proven to be marketable due to the fact that it worked. :smartass: Are you really gonna spend the rest of your life chasing these men round the internet bashing them with your superior Dev/PR skills :smilewink:
  25. Hold the stick back at the start of your take off roll to lock the tail wheel, once you get up a bit of speed move the stick to neutral elevator and give a bit of right aileron to take some of the torque induced loading off the left wheel and she should respond to rudder input correctly. This tip helped me alot with my DCS P51 take off. I found it impossible to steer once the tail came up:)
