Thrustmaster Warthog Preview CheckSix + Video!
power5 replied to Nightmare's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What is the purpose of the throttle being pulled up to go all the way forward or back? How will that be handled for non TMWH hotas systems? I love the actual switches on the Throttle though. Does the TMWH not come with pedals? if not, WOW that is an expensive system. I can not understand French, but is this thing FFB? -
What was the bird strike video showing off about the sound engine? Only thing I can take from it is that the pilot thought it was a good idea to make a hard left just before touching down instead of lining up a couple clicks out. Especially with only a single engine. I usually like patches and engine revisions, but this time, I am disappointed with the new sound engine. I can not hear bullet hits at all. I may need to do yet another reinstall to see if something has been corrupted by myself.

Finally Smooth Flying with these Graphic Settings

Is that you Captain? Captain Obvious. :P :pilotfly: -
I only played the demo and reinstalled my os after to make sure every trace of it was gone. I hated having to jump out of the cockpit and back in. Flying was like two different FM. For arcade ace combat destroys hawxs. I want a new version of that.

How do I turn up bullet damage? I dont even know I am being shot at until my shkval goes out, or I get a warning light up top. I tried adding gain = 2.0 to bullethit and bulletricochet and nothing changed. Still silent. I think the gear worked as did the missile launch. I have missile at gain = 4.0 in trk. This is a straight run straight at the enemy, no defense except for flares to reduce chance of getting hit with missile. 2 Cobras take me down I believe and I hear no bullets hitting my a/c. no bullets.trk -
I have e4300 C2D at 3.4 4890 (trades blows with 5770, but you have dx11) 4gb ddr2 Not sure what is keeping me at medium, as most games I play are almost at max settings on everything. If they can get better multi core support in the engine, then you will be in a much better place than me. As it sits now in BS, our gameplay should be fairly equal. Of course depending on your monitor resolution. I game at 1680x1050 and I am fine most of the time. When another helo comes near in MP, I get lag. In SP, I get lag only on lots of big explosions. I would say same settings as you currently play if you play BS. You are going much faster and have more viewing distance in a plane. Most of my BS time is spent below 500m.

As long as I can figure out if my axis are mapped correctly. Or if you can let us know if a g940 will be mapped correctly when it identifies the game and the game identifies the joystick. I will gladly show off my wonderful maiden voyage. Just like with BS, first thing I did was fire up quick start and fly, errrrr, thrash about all over the sky till I destroyed my rotors and plummeted to the ground.

If WH is running an improved BS engine, I would think it would be fairly easy to update BS. Most will just be testing the switch I would hope. I assume we still have see through trees? Should make picking off a BS with the WH fairly simple. Its going to be hard to decide between the BS and A10. A10 will be favorite for a while since its new though. I think I am more of a fixed wing guy anyway though. In the JTAC photo on the site, I laughed at the callsign: Deathstar. Something one of us geeks would pick as our computer name...... oh, thats mine. I am hoping I do not accidentally equip the dummy weapons on a mission rearm :) Man our a/c skins are deadly boring.

Link is taking me to some Chinese garbage site. Does anyone have a different link? I reinstalled BS and lost this mod somewhere.

Wow thanks for listening to our critiques on BS and the AI system and ME negatives. Will be very nice to see scurrying enemy when I light them up with my GAU. If I can. The ability to tell ground forces where they need to reposition is awesome as well. That Cockpit is just :shocking::beer: Could you let us know what settings those images are taken on? I assume at the max everything.

How do you play this as a campaign? I downloaded the rar and extracted the files. I put them in the campaign folder and the mission folder. When I go to the campaign selector menu, only the deployment, and georgian oil wars are available. I can play the missions as single missions through the mission menu. This has been fine for me, and not sure what playing as a campaign would do except prohibit advancing till mission success. I have only played the first 4 missions. Mission 1. While starting up, I noticed an explosion at the mi8 helipads before they landed. Mig 29s tail number 11 nose dives into their pad area. Mission 2. Wanted to light up the instructor on my first try. Prove to him I could attack a target. "You call that formation flying?" Mission 3. Damn those Mi8 are fast. I loitered at the lake wondering if I should take out the soldiers or not. I decided not to, and by the time I was starting home, I got lectured on radio because I was not with my flight. By the time I spotted him, he was clearing the hill on the return. I need to learn how to climb mountains better because I am always on the fringe of rotor crash with the yellow warning lights above my head. Mission 4. My file date in my folder says 12.9.9 and I found it easy enough to win. I shot down 2 Hind one time and 1 on my "I can do better" followup. I have maintenance equip 4x gun pods and I go Hind Chasing. Those pods do not allow you to really trace your fire up to the hind. You basically have to get in close and aim where you think you need to. I blasted one Hind while blowing over his rotor going a bit too fast. Last second I plunged the nose down and squeezed. Almost collided with him. Looked back and he was spiraling down. As for the bug. I had one emergency land to the 11 oclock from your takeoff position. I was wondering why I was not getting the order to land. I had seen the carcass while flying in circles and figured I would go finish him. Instantly got the radio message to RTB. Another damaged one flew to the 8 oclock and landed on the tree covered hill. He blew up but had no smoke or fire when landing so I suspect it was hydro failure. Either way, the trigger worked I guess. Great missions so far though.

Not sure what control of intercept means. Or what BFM is. Maverick picked the guns or missile on the flight stick though. -
Tilt the direction you want to slip and use rudder to keep nose on target.

I am playing on win7 64. CPU is most important in BS.

In that documentary he also did a lot of bitching. I think they are captains as well because he was captain obvious much of the time too. :) Besides these two other duties, what else does a backseat do? I would like to know. And is it something AI could do well enough? -
Considering this is an ground pounding game as is BS, I would have thought the ground would have been pretty important.

Well, in an F14, the RIO is simply a navigator. Calling out threats and what not. At least that is what it seems from the documentary I watched in the 80s called Top Gun. So, in that instance the pilot does everything except the nav stuff. So, an AI in an F14, or any other plane with similar RIO requirements should be just fine. Any A/C that has the RIO using the weapons would be the a/c that I doubt we ever see. Who would want to be the RIO in MP of a F14. "Um, hey pilot, we got a bogey." "Okay, got him, now go back to sleep." -
"We can" How easy is this accomplished? I remember when BS was young people were experimenting with multi setups and I got mine to work with a second monitor showing the Abris/Shkval. Setting it up was a pain in the butt, and would have never been possible without much smarter people than me figuring it out. Is there going to be some sort of GUI or will it all be in text editor?
