  1. You are right - that doesn't make sense. Is it reproducible? Does it happen very time you bomb that unit? We will retest and see if we get the same effect. EDIT: We retested the mission and it played fine. We were able to destroy both sets of infantry with single Mk82 drops (in the center of the infantry column) and it didn't impact Badger. Nor did Badger get hit by any other fire. We were able to move onto Jaguar and complete the mission. Maybe a one time glitch?
  2. Likely splash damage from your bomb. Try dropping in the middle of the line of troops to avoid the blast damage from reaching Badger.
  3. I'm not sure what you mean. There is definitely audio in the mission. Maybe try a DCS Repair or re-install the campaign.
  4. Try and reduce speed and center the joystick before turning on the Manual Reversion. When it's on you have to fly with the trim knob instead of the joystick. Too much joystick and you will get huge oscillations. It's very challenging but the more you play with it the more feel you get for how to fly under those conditions. Good luck!
  5. That's weird. Is it reproducible? Your summarized mission rating will be the lowest rating of any section so if you pass all areas you get a Qual. If you got a qual-minus for maneuvers then you should have got a qual minus provided all the other areas were qual or qual-minus. An unqual in any area would give you an unqual for the mission (like if you crashed the plane on landing for example).
  6. Take a backup copy of your logbook just in case but I don't think you will lose progress if you reinstall the campaign. If you do have problems email us at mapleflagmissions@gmail.com and we can edit the logbook for you.
  7. Congrats!
  8. That's it! Good job.
  9. This might help:
  10. Still being worked. It got sidetracked by the Aggressor campaigns. All the voice overs are done and we continue to port updates from the A-10C BFT campaign to it. I can't give an ETA yet but we are getting closer every day.
  11. Stay away from any of the populated areas (cities or towns). If you are flying over the lakes, fields or forests you should be ok.
  12. Did you hit the TOT (Time on Target)? You have to be within I think 30 seconds of the TOT at the correct Altitude. If it says you were too late then the timer expired before you got close enough to the waypoint. You can upload your trk and we can review it but the timer starts as soon as you get the instructions for the next waypoint so check your clock and add whatever the time amount indicated is and try and get to the waypoint by that time.
  13. The voice overs are nearly identical between the campaign and practice missions so I would recommend a DCS Repair and / or uninstall and reinstall the campaign.
  14. Try hitting the waypoints as indicated in the flight plan. The FE's instructions are for additional guidance but if you fly the flight plan as indicated you should be able to pass the mission. The triggers for the instructions are centered on the waypoints so if you are too far from them you could miss a voice trigger but the mission should still continue ok. If you can upload a trk file we could review it and get a better understanding of why it's not playing as expected.
  15. We are working to update the campaign with new voice overs so we will consider changing the shutdown time to make it longer. The campaign package does provide an interactive shutdown training mission and a practice mission so we expected users would use those to become proficient before trying the qual campaign mission. Certainly 2 minutes to complete the checklist without knowing it well would be a challenge for anyone.
  16. Compare your flight to this video. I'll check the tirggers but I think you have to descend after you have clearance to land (if you do it earlier you will break the pattern altitude limit).
  17. Well done! At least you didn't get killed - though I think the aircraft is ready for the scrap heap!
  18. That's a known issue. Not sure what DCS release version that change happened in. Make sure your joystick is centered and use the trim buttons to control your elevation, pitch and roll and slowly make your descent. When your speed gets slower and at lower altitude it seems to clear (at least it did in our testing).
  19. Yes I would think that would be appropriate. If you ever have seen any of the MayDay episodes pilots have also landed on highways, roads or fields. Whatever works best given the emergency situation. Getting back to the airport would be preferred if capable.
  20. Sounds like you have the procedure correct: 1. Move the inoperative engine throttle to OFF. [RALT + END] 2. Move the APU switch to PWR. 3. Set the Engine Operate switch of the affected engine to MOTOR. 4. When the affected engine ITT is below 100C then move throttle from OFF to IDLE. [RALT + HOME] 5. Move the Engine Operate switch back to NORM. The key command for Left Engine Off to IDLE is: RALT + HOME Make sure your left throttle is actually in the OFF position: RALT + END Please report back if you continue to have problems and we can investigate further.
  21. Yes you should land on runway 13 (heading ~120). If you look at the flight plan and contact ATC to get an approach vector (INBOUND) they should direct you to a point west of Batumi, then turn back east to Batumi on approach to runway 13. This runway does have PAPI lights so you can judge your glidepath (at least it did the last time we tested it in 2.5). You won't see them until you are close (and maybe even closer if you are in VR). They are on the left side of the runway when on approach.
  22. Not sure why ATC wouldn't respond. The aircraft has 3 radios so check to make sure you are using the correct controller for the correct radio. Other than that try a DCS Repair or uninstall and reinstall the campaign. You do have to fly the pattern as briefed (don't wait for the FE to tell you to turn if you are at a waypoint and clearly see the flight path turning to the next waypoint). The trigger zones are located at the waypoints so if you stay on the flight path you should hit the next trigger zone in sequence. Email us at mapleflagmissions@gmail.com or post again to the forum and we can investigate further.
  23. That's a good point. The missions were designed before VR became really popular. We will consider making some adjustments for a future update.
  24. The real world shutdown procedure is much longer (for example you need to put the LEFT throttle to OFF after 5 minutes at IDLE). We didn't want the player to have to sit waiting too long to get their results so after realizing that most players can get everything shutdown within 2 minutes we felt that was an appropriate test benchmark. Plus the time constraint does add some stress to the procedure which does make it more of a challenge. Once you understand it you can complete the procedure in even less time as you can start shutting things down while taxiing back to the parking spot.
  25. Hi Falken76, Yes it can be overwhelming if you are not that familiar with the aircraft and all the messages being given. We will help get you sorted. We try and make our missions and campaigns as realistic as possible so there is alot of documentation that is provided but since you are learning you don't need to worry too much about them right now. Seasoned pilots will appreciate the extra details. The first mission is a familiarization flight (FAM Flight) to get you familiar with the area. So if you look at the FAM Flight Plan document it will show you the waypoints you will be following. All the waypoints are already programmed into the F-15C so if you takeoff and fly to each waypoint in sequence then you will be successful. You should wait for the instructor pilot to leave first (just wait a few more seconds). During this time you should be doing your start-up sequence, getting your engines started, testing your flaps and speed brake, checking the engine instruments for proper RPM and any warning and caution lights. I know it's a video game and you can just jump in and start right away but doing a proper start up checklist is a good habit to get into (especially when moving on to the more advanced jets like the Hornet). The other flights will leave first then the instructor pilot will follow them once they are taxied past him but if you leave first then that tells the AI to stop and he will follow you as you saw. The mission will still play properly in either case. Since more and more users are moving to VR we added much of the documentation to the in-game kneeboard. To use the kneeboard, RSHIFT-K will bring it up and the same command sequence will hide it. Once up you can use the square bracket keys [ and ] to move forward and back within the kneeboard pages. Pressing the ] will walk through the pages and pressing [ will take you to the other pages of the kneeboard. This will allow you to view all the pages of the kneeboard (and there are alot). You might want to review them before you start moving then leave it on the page you want to check often (for example the FAM Flight Plan). Then use RSHIFT-K to hide it until you want to check it again. The nice thing about the F-15C though is that it has a modern navigation system and the waypoints for the mission are already programmed into the aircraft. So when you takeoff you should fly to WP1, then it should switch to WP2 and so on. So you can fly the mission without even looking at the kneeboard provided you follow the navigation indications on the HUD. Check the F-15C or Flaming Cliffs DCS Manual for details there. You can also change the waypoints manually using the LCTRL-` (back tick) command sequence. Using this you can step through all the waypoints until you are back to the starting one (WP 0). Most folks map this to a HOTAS control button to make it easier. The mission briefing documents include a Flight Plan diagram (FAM Flight Plan) plus more detailed Departure and Recovery routes. This is useful information if you lose your HUD for instance but given that you are just learning you don't need to use them right now. I'll answer your specific questions in case others have similar questions. When flying in populated areas (like Las Vegas) there are flight level restrictions or altitude blocks you should maintain to avoid other traffic. That's what it means when it says fly below 4,000 Feet or above 14,000 Feet. MSL stands for Mean Sea Level and is a standard altitude measurement. Aircraft fly at altitudes measured in MSL or AGL (Above Ground Level). For this mission we use MSL throughout. FLEX is the name of one of the waypoints in the flight plan. Looking at the FAM Flight Plan diagram you will see that each waypoint has a unique name. These would correspond to the numbered waypoints when flying in the F-15C. For example WP 2 is FLEX, WP 3 is FYTTR, etc. You can see them listed on the kneeboard map display. For this phrase "Intercept the LSV 15 DME Arc at or below 8,000 feet MSL and arc south". DME stands for Distance Measuring Equipment so the LSV 15 DME Arc is a circle that is 15nm slant range from Nellis AFB (LSV). Here is a link with more details about DME: http://www.flight-mechanic.com/radio-navigation-distance-measuring-equipment-dme/ So to fly the departure accurately you would pick up the 15 DME arc on your TACAN and arc south to then pickup the 267 Radial from LSV to get to FYTTR (WP 3). The F-15C TACAN isn't modeled in DCS so for this mission you don't have to be that accurate and can fly directly to WP 3. There is alot of good information availalbe online that can help you learn DCS and the navigation systems but feel free to email us at mapleflagmissions@gmail.com or post further questions to the forum and we will be happy to help. Thanks.
